Service is very quick. Our waitress was here right as we sat down to get our drinks. Our food came in less than 5 minutes of ordering. I'm wondering if they just microwaved it because it was that quick! Food was once again just ok. Nothing spectacular. read more

A very clean and retro style diner, nice to see. Menu was surprisingly lean and to the point, rather than other places where the menu is a small binder of item that range all over the place. The staff were nice and pretty neutral, not much to say for it. The meat lovers skillet was very good, love the finely minced ham, sausage and cuts of bacon, although I will say unsurprisingly it was pretty salty. Sunny side eggs were great, and for the home fries at the bottom, could use more seasonings otherwise great, I did find it weird to use cheese slices over shredded cheese for the skillet. Came here on a Sunday morning and I was not disappointed. The parking is tight which I discovered as I drove the big truck there. Walked in and this place reminded me of a diner from back in the day. It was a fairly large sitting area of tables but being in this kind of diner a Booth is a must. We were greeted by the friendly waitress and soon after sitting down drinks and food were being ordered. I ordered the chili omelette and this did not disappoint. It was stuffed with chili only thing you could add some cheese if you enjoy that but I kept it protein packed. Tossed a little hot sauce on it and I was in a food nirvana. Chili and eggs go together with home-fires surprisingly well. The big breakfast was delicious and cooked just as requested. The price matched the giant plates and I am looking forward to going back and eating a burger. 5/5 stars! read more

I've come to Maddy's for breakfast as long as I've lived in Orange County. I love it their food is great and the people are even better. The waitresses know my wife and I and know my daughter since she was in the womb . They are always nice and welcoming. Plus ya can't get a better breakfast than Maddy's. read more

the service was horrible. The food was terrible and disgusting . The older lady that sits us was TERRIBLE to us. She was mean from the moment we sat down and we thought maybe she was having a terrible day so we let it go. When it came to pay, she already added a tip into our receipt and told my friend that it was because this is the third time we came and we didn't tip. We tried to let her know this is outrageous second time coming and maybe she was mistaking us for someone else. She started telling us no Ï remember you guys you didn't tip. We tried to tell her maybe you mistook us for someone else she kept accusing us of coming here three times and said you sat there and pointed at the wrong place. This time we didn't tip because she was horrible to us. Never coming here again. Came to eat before a long day and got racially profiled instead and paid 40$ read more

Terrific small-town diner--the classic experience. Friendly, efficient staff and great food. We thoroughly enjoyed the chicken & waffles with sausage gravy, and the "almost healthy" skillet scramble. Fresh fruit, a tasty biscuit, and plenty of hot coffee. Highly recommend! read more

Ideal diner! Super clean! Friendly service & nice meals. It's not gourmet (aka pickled jalapeños) but good quality ingredients: chorizo, tortillas, perfect avocado...It's top notch for a diner. My only complaint is that it is so clean I could smell cleaning product before food when first entering. Which is not entirely a bad thing. read more

My family and I ordered brunch from Maddy's to go recently. Some of us ordered lunch items - but there's nothing like diner breakfast, so I ordered an omelet and hash browns. Overall, everyone was satisfied with their food. It was ready pretty quickly (we had a pretty large order on a weekend morning). My omelet was OK. It wasn't hot by the time I got it, but with takeout that's somewhat to be expected. The hash browns weren't bad but they didn't have a ton of flavor either. I'll probably try to dine in here sometime soon to give it a fairer shot. read more

Breakfast good, waitress polite but if you like smelling marijuana wafting out from either the smoke shop next door or the black SUV parked in front with the hatch open or watching the steady flow of crack heads walking over from north street too, I'm guessing maybe cop? I knew it was going to be bad when the waitress was surly from the minute she came to the table. Food came out without a side. When I questioned it she said - doesn't come with it and walked away. I knew it did because I specifically looked at the menu and said it when I ordered. You would think if a customer questioned a side the server would double check the menu. Nope just didn't bother to come back until she dropped the check. Double checked the menu on the way out - I was right. Not worth the argument just won't go back. Prices are high for a diner and service is poor. read more

On July 1, exactly 55 minutes before closing time, we were greeted by a rude, aging waitress who informed us that we'd better not think we were going to have a leisurely meal and hang out because they were closing soon. Potatoes lack flavor American omelette although large also lacks flavor and the cheese wasn't even melted. FOOD WASN'T HOT. Salt and pepper helped monumentally. Not terrible but very plain. To anyone that is wondering, I can confirm the Grinch is alive and well, and hanging out at Maddy's Diner in the form of an ignorant waitress, whose hair was hanging down, most unhygienically, either side of her miserable face. Four signs in the windows said Christmas Eve hours 5.30 am - 2 pm. We walked in at 12.55, only to be told by Miss Congeniality "we're closed," as she shoved us back out the door. As we were sitting in our car, varying people entered. Some were seated and some were, like us, unceremoniously shoved back out the door. Merry Christmas - not! read more

I was extremely excited about having breakfast at Maddy's after their make over. What a disappointment. The place looks beautiful and the people welcomed us. We had the choice to pick out our table. We ordered our food and the waitress came out with one plate and explained she dropped my food on the floor by accident. So now my company starts to eat alone when we realize she still added mushrooms in his omelette.. We specifically stated he was allergic to them. She took it back now my food comes and it looks like they just transferred everything over and the plate wasn't even wiped down. (Messy job).. We had to request napkin, ketchup and hot sauce from another waiter walking by because she never came back to check in with us at all. We had to request a box and the check. This was @ 10 am it wasn't busy or packed to make mistakes like this.. I expected better customer service in hopes this would be a weekend place.. Just little tips for the future while a restaurant is slow. 1. clean the tables quickly for new customers coming in because while sitting waiting for our food we noticed they left two tables messy even while we were leaving it still wasn't clean.. Now they had 3 tables dirty tables to "clean up" and make more errors for the new customers. Thank you for the 15% off which on took $3 off but no thank you I won't be returning to this restaurant. read more

Bad eats. I asked for a buffalo chicken sandwich and I got a blt like, shit brought me back to bacon egg and cheeses at the hood deli, bc when we get the butter rolls I never put jelly, no jealousy over no bread. I hope that didn't go over your head. But nah it was dead bad eats read more

I eat here all the time and usually the food is good. Today, however, the food was so bad that I couldn't eat it. I wouldn't even feed it to my dog! $17.00 in wasted dollars right into the trash. Waitress offered no redress. read more

They can't get a swiss peppers and onions omlet correct. They forget the Cheese when I complained they slapped on 2 pieces of cold cheese. Sent that back opted for a plain waffle no sugar. They sent it wIth powered sugar. I give up read more

Food prices seem high for a dinner, especially for the food quality. It wasn't bad, but wasn't good either. I had a Philly cheesesteak and the way the cheese was put on the bread and toasted vs mixed in or on top of the meat was not a good choice. read more

I came today at 1:30. As I was about to enter the building, the hostess came out to tell me that they were closing at 2. The way she said it and the way she acted was really rude. I understand not wanting to seat someone at 1:45 or 1:50, but if you close at 2 I should still be allowed in at 1:30. There were no signs posted that said the restaurant closed at 2. They actually had a sign stating "come in, we're open". read more

I eat at Maddy's quite often. I purposely stopped by Maddy's on Wednesday 11/24 to check the holiday hours. The sign on the window said closed on Thursday 11/25 and open Friday 11/26 until 7pm. I went there on Friday at 5:17 pm for dinner and they were closed because they were slow. This is no way to do business. If you post your hours your should adhere to them. read more

Daughter lives in this area and on her recommendation we came here - it was exactly what we needed! Hot coffee that was consistently filled. Husband and I ordered the Irish skillet - potatoes loaded up with corned beef hash, cheese and eggs over easy - oh man this was pure comfort in a skillet. Son had the meat lovers skillet - I believe he may have licked the pan. Daughter had an omelet florentine - she enjoyed it. The service was friendly - I like how there were customers seated that the waitress knew by name. It's a good sign. read more

This is my first review about a restaurant and I really must say, amazing extremely friendly waitress food amazing. I received gastric sleeve surgery and told my waitress and she actually recommend what foods are good for me to partake in. So nice of her. The food is excellent and the coffee kept on coming. THANK YOU!! The prices are more than reasonable. My server was friendly with a bit of edge worthy of the quote on her shirt "Kiss my grits". The best part is that its not a cookie cutter diner like others in the area. I think Maddys might be the only independent in the area...as a diner should be. I came up from New York City on an errand and found Maddy's through Yelp. I am very fond of Spanish omelettes and Maddy's omelette is exceptional because the stewed vegetables had a distinct approach which I appreciate. Also, the milk for the coffee comes in a pitcher and the sugar is in an old style pourer. I didn't have to deal with all those annoying tiny packages. read more

Have frequented a few times lately. Consistently slow service. Frustrated with variable prices for take out items depending on who is working. And one experience representing disconnect with customer service is recently I ordered a meal - and then waited and waited only to learn that the kitchen never received the order slip. Understandable mistake? maybe - but I was the only customer at the time and my server walked in and out of the kitchen and seemed not to notice that the cook was not cooking anything! read more

I have the habit of moving my food around to check and there it was a long black hair. I felt bad for the waitress she was very nice. And she felt horrible about it. She could not stop saying I'm so sorry Now the lady that stands up front with the limp has always been so nice and this time she wasn't-- she was annoyed I complained about the hair. Just done with the diner will never go again - a man walks in with a dog in his man. It wasn't a service dog and she said nothing about it. When my husband brung it to her attention she was very rude. The place should be renovated. It's a mess. I can't imagine how it looks where they store the foods how it can look. The place is always full and they can't afford to fix the place.

The parking lot is small but luckily it wasn't crowded on a Sunday afternoon. The food was excellent. They have a wood fired grill menu only on the weekends. We ordered the Brussels sprouts, the smoked wings with Thai chili sauce, the pulled pork sandwich, the hangar steak, and the burger. All were great as were the fries. The service was above and beyond. Also, they had some great specials on cams to go that we took advantage of. 10% off for dining at the brewery, a free branded glass with every 3 4-packs, and a free bottled stout with the purchase of a case.
