On the day of the appointment with the specialist, he canceled just 15 minutes before the appointment. So unprofessional and inconsiderate of patients' busy schedules. Later, we found out he wasn't even within our network, despite the staff being asked to confirm before our appointment. In general, dentists do not provide a thorough review after working on the kids. They never talk to parents about findings or the cleaning overview. They just do the cleaning and send the kids down to the waiting room. They also randomly changed appointment dates & time, giving weak excuses. However, when we tried to cancel my daughter's regular cleaning appointment 24 hours in advance, after she had her wisdom teeth removed by another dentist, they had the audacity to try to charge $86 for the cancellation. After I pushed back, they waived it, knowing they were in the wrong. They really should cater to UPS Teamsters, who are their bread and butter. Overall, their staff, including dentists, are unprofessional, uninformed, and cannot handle patients with excellent insurance. They would rather deal with only Medi-Cal patients. We took our business elsewhere. We are never coming back!

I was extremely nervous going into my appointment after a difficult experience elsewhere, but the entire team immediately put me at ease. The doctor was incredibly attentive, compassionate, and considerate throughout the entire procedure. He took the time to explain everything, made sure I was comfortable before starting, and checked on me throughout the root canal to make sure I wasn't in any pain. I never felt rushed, and I truly felt like my comfort was a priority. I never thought I'd say this, but my root canal was actually a great experience. It was painless, smooth, and far less intimidating than I expected. The level of care and empathy I received made such a difference. I came here expecting it to be a one-time visit, but after the experience I had, I've decided to transfer all of my general dental care to this office. That's how impressed I was. She was very empathic and listened to my concerns and formulated a treatment plan that worked for me. She is never pushy on upselling and I really appreciate that she does things not to make the most money, but what is the best for her patients. She has my loyalty for life. I had composite filling that needed repair after 3 years, and at first it was composite for bottom right teeth. But it was sensitive, so the sensitive spot we did a small spot of composite. And the other two molars, bottom and top left side, very rear had issues too. But I talked it over with Norma, and we decided that for my heavy bite that amalgam would be better, which I happen to agree with. Years before I had amalgam for the rear tooths..and sometimes it lastes as long as 10 years, but sometimes it fails as soon as 3. So rear molars are going back to be amalgam next time it needs replacing. I would have preferred gold filling, but that is not an option anymore..too bad. P.S. Although prices have crept up over the years, as have everything else, she gave me a discount for being later than usual due to end of the year holiday scheduling. I am very grateful for that! P.S.2 Although scheduling isn't easy for me now that I have to take my son to school far away so mainly I just have after 3:30 pm available..and since she only there at the location Tuesday and Fridays..but the location is super close to my house, so I like it. When I wrote a letter asking for my money back seeing as how I was paying over $10,000 to fix her work she barely responded and wanted me to sign papers saying I would never speak of this again for $300 I refused. I think she only cares about money now not her patients and doesn't use quality materials to fix her patients teeth. Some of my fillings feel out a week later while I was out of state. Not a good feeling. And then for her to not even speak to me was worse. After about 10 years of her being my doctor was just devastating.

LONNNNG REVIEW, LONNNNG OVERDUE…read more First of all, I have to say that I should have written this review probably more than a year ago. I blame ADHD. The truth is, I absolutely LOVE Dr. Yar. He and his staff are all so very kind, gentle, have delightful senses of humor, and they were very quick to make me feel so comfortable in their care. Every appointment, even the painful ones, have had me leaving quite contentedly and in a great mood. Most importantly, Dr. Yar has transformed my smile in a way that I had only dreamed of, for years, and never ever thought possible. I was an extreme case to begin with. My family has a genetic condition that had plagued me and left me a depressed, and extremely self conscious about my smile for my entire life. I would hide my teeth in social settings, and photos, trying hard to ONLY give that closed-mouth Mona Lisa smile while everyone else smiled widely and openly. I worried what people thought when I had accidentally smiled too big, and my teeth were shown. When I laughed, I used to cover my mouth, just in case. It was so bad, that I was often bullied about my teeth. People can be so cruel, sometimes, ya know? There were also plenty of times that I had cried from the pain that my breaking teeth had caused throughout the years. It got so bad at times, I would often tell my loved ones that I would choose to go through childbirth again, rather than experiencing this pain. Before I met with Dr. Yar, I had been to another dentist that pulled all of my upper teeth and gave me a top denture. I was desperate for the pain to be relieved, and I had hoped that in the end, I would be able to smile again. Alas, the appliance I ended up receiving was horribly designed! The teeth were tiny, misshapen, and didn't even let me eat properly. I was told this was the best they could do for me, and I tried so hard to be thankful, to be happy just to not have my natural upper teeth causing me the pain issues anymore... but the confidence I had hoped to gain, never came. I didn't think I would have the chance to fix what had been done. I solemnly accepted my fate for years. Until the time came that I needed my (still natural) lower teeth to also be pulled, and get a bottom denture. Of course I was not going to go back to the previous dentist that had not been able to deliver the standard I needed, which lead me to search for someone to help me achieve what I really wanted all along. Dr. Yar designed a plan for me that changed everything. Yes, he took away the pain, but what I didn't expect was how happy I would be in the end. He gave me an "all on four" implant supported lower denture, and a completely new upper denture. Admittedly, It cost a lot of money, but I knew that this was highly important to me. Guess what? No more pain. No more fear of showing my smile. I say this without any bit of exaggeration: My life has been changed. I get compliments now, for the first time ever, about how beautiful my smile is. I don't shy away from laughing without covering my mouth. I eat without worrying that I am going to suddenly be in excruciating pain, and I can look in the mirror without hating to see my smile now. Thank you, Dr. Yar. Thank you for everything you've done for me. Thank you to all of your staff as well. I am so grateful to have been able to trust you. If I could have seen you before I went to that first dentist, I would have! I have been a patient for around 2 years and the staff is good. My issue is with the dentist. There…read moreis no real communication with him. He says hi and how am I, goes over my x-rays, then just leaves. He doesn't tell me if I had any cavities or any of his findings. He just leaving to the next patient and has the dental assistant explain what the findings were. I have never had a dentist that didn't explain to me after the exam. It make me feel like I am not worth his time. Another incident, I went in to go get a filling and he stuck the needle in to numb me and it missed my whole gum completely and the liquid just leaked inside my mouth. It tasted gross. He came back later and I told him is it supposed to feel numb because it doesn't. I told him it must have leaked all in my mouth. The dental assistant had to explain to him what I was trying to say for whatever reason. I guess he wasn't paying attention so he had to re-numb me and never once apologize. So I am finding a new dentist that likes to converse with their patients.

My experience today broke my heart, and I hope no one else ever feels the way I did. I don't usually write reviews, but I feel I need to share what happened so nobody else goes through this. After going through two failed denture experiences -- one paid out of pocket and one through my insurance -- I've been toothless for nearly six months. I've lost jobs, struggled to eat, and carried so much anxiety from everything I've been through. I went to Riverside Center for Esthetics, Dr. Jacobs, hoping this time would be different. I drove an hour because of the great reviews and prayed someone would finally help me. Instead, I left feeling worse than ever. After explaining my situation, I was met with no empathy -- only judgment. Dr. Jacobs assumed it was my fault that the other dentists failed me. He quoted me $3,100 and said he wanted the entire amount upfront because, in his words, I might say he "sucked too." He also said that if I didn't like the final denture, he would keep half of my money -- because he's "that good of a dentist." I never asked for a refund from anyone. I've only ever wanted teeth that fit and to feel normal again. To be told those words, mocked in conversation, and treated as if I were the problem was devastating. As a new patient already traumatized by past dental experiences, I needed compassion -- a simple, "I'm so sorry for what you've been through." Instead, I was shamed and blamed. How is it fair that other patients can make payments, but I was told I had to pay in full because of what happened to me? That's not fair or ethical. Dr. Jacobs, as I walked out of your office today, my head was down and my heart was heavy. I asked God, "Why me? What did I do to deserve this?"
