I want to begin by saying that the spa itself is lovely--beautiful, very clean, relaxing, and supported by strong customer service. I truly wanted to leave a great review and had every intention of returning. Unfortunately, my massage experience fell well short of what I expected, particularly for a service that ultimately cost nearly $250. My therapist spent considerable time asking about my sleep habits and other matters that felt more diagnostic than relevant to the massage. Yet surprisingly little attention was given to the basic questions I expect from an experienced massage therapist: Where are you hurting? Are you comfortable on the table? Is the temperature comfortable? Is the pressure appropriate? I had to initiate those conversations myself. I had to stop the massage because I was uncomfortable on the table. I also endured the temperature until I finally spoke up. Even small details, such as repositioning the leg pillows, were overlooked unless I said something. Individually, these may seem minor, but collectively they are part of the care and attentiveness I expect from a high-end spa experience. The most frustrating issue was the pressure. I specifically booked a deep tissue massage, yet much of the massage felt closer to a light Swedish massage. I had to stop the therapist multiple times to request more pressure. After my first request, the pressure increased briefly and then returned to the same light pressure. After asking again with little improvement, I finally asked directly whether the therapist realized I had booked a deep tissue massage. At $200, I should not have to repeatedly ask to receive the service I reserved. After another request, the pressure suddenly increased dramatically. I was told this was a shiatsu technique and asked whether I was comfortable with it. I said yes. In fact, I enjoyed that portion of the massage enough that I was considering returning and specifically requesting shiatsu with the same therapist. Then came the problem: I was never told that using this technique would result in an additional $30 charge. I did not request an upgrade. I requested more pressure from the deep tissue massage I had already booked and was already paying for. If responding to that request meant changing my service to something that cost more, that should have been clearly explained to me before the additional charge was incurred, not discovered at checkout. With the added charge and mandatory 20% gratuity, my massage ended up costing approximately $250. The amount itself is not the primary issue. The lack of disclosure is. A customer has the right to know when a service is being changed in a way that increases the price and to decide whether they want to accept that additional cost. That is ultimately what disappointed me most about this experience. I was asked plenty of questions, yet the questions that directly affected my comfort, the quality of my massage, and what I would ultimately pay were not asked. I genuinely enjoyed the spa itself and would like to feel comfortable returning. My hope is that greater attention will be given to communication--both about a client's comfort and about any change in service that carries an additional cost. I certainly understand that different techniques may have different prices; I simply would have appreciated being informed and given the opportunity to decide. Just as the therapist needed information from me to provide the service, I needed clear information from the therapist to make informed choices about the service I was receiving and paying for. read more

My daughter and I have gone to the one at Perimeter Mall and enjoyed every moment of relaxation. I would really hate to come out and see someone with a tripod filming while I'm enjoying my spa day. Love, love, LOVE this place. This location specifically, is different from the other two locations. The Buckhead location is so dreamy and luxurious. Everything was personalized. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted immediately. I felt so welcomed here. They gave my friend and I a tour and offered complementary champagne, juice, and mimosas. Everything was wonderful. My masseuse did great job. I left the spa feeling great. My friend and I had a hour massage and added on aromatherapy and hot stones, we tried out the salt room, and the sauna as well. We arrived 30 minutes early so we could check out their private rooms/quiet areas. It was all so beautiful. I highly recommend and will be back! We originally planned to have a spa day at the Waldorf Astoria to start a bachelorette/ bridal shower weekend but found the initial conversations and hospitality to be lackluster. A friend mentioned Woodhouse and we could not be happier!! Shameka helped set up our private room and was so attentive before we arrived, answering any questions I had, setting up all appointments for our party of 8 and then worked out the on- site issues we had day of. We had several random unexpected things but the team including Jonathan were so kind and understanding. They provided accommodations to make sure our bridal party all felt taken care of. My stretch massage was by Diallo and he was great! Gem did my friends pedicure and she said it was so great. I received a gift card for my birthday for a facial and massage. I was so excited to take a day to pamper myself from head to toe. Unfortunately, the experience fell far short of what I expected. When I called to book, the staff member I spoke with didn't seem engaged or interested in helping me. I asked about booking both a facial and massage, and while she confirmed availability, she didn't ask which specific services I wanted. I assumed this would be discussed when I arrived. She also did not offer any parking directions, which would have been helpful. Upon arrival, the spa itself was beautiful and smelled amazing. However, when I checked in, the attendant had trouble even finding which locker number I was assigned. After opening my locker, there was a robe but no shoes, so she searched through lockers until she found a pair. This felt unorganized and left me wondering if my services were even properly booked. My massage began on time and was very relaxing. Afterward, I was brought to the relaxation room to wait for my facial, which was scheduled for 1:00 p.m. An attendant told me the esthetician was running "a few minutes" late due to a technical issue and offered me a complimentary salt room treatment. I didn't mind waiting, but "a few minutes" turned into nearly 40 minutes without updates. When I finally asked for a more specific timeframe, I was told it would be another 10 minutes; meaning my service would have started an entire hour late. With a babysitter at home, I could not continue waiting, so I had no choice but to cancel the facial. At checkout, I was told not to worry about paying and that the spa would "make it right" if I came back. That seemed fair as I had no interest in the salt room and I wanted my services together. However, after I left, I received a call asking about charging my card. I explained what I had been told, but in the end, I still paid for my massage, plus an automatic 20% gratuity. I am not opposed to paying for the massage I received, but the lack of organization with scheduling, communication, locker readiness, and billing made the experience stressful rather than relaxing. Especially given the automatic 20% gratuity given my experience. I truly hope this will be made right so I can return and enjoy the full day of services back-to-back, as originally planned and have the spa experience I was looking forward to. read more

I had a top notch experience - my only complaint was that the tea selection was lacking and I wish they offered lunch or a small bites menu. If I could leave zero stars for this location I absolutely would. This location has the worst customer service and lacks professionalism starting with the General Manager (Mrs. Howell). I purchased a physical gift card 2-weeks ago to be delivered to a friend as a birthday gift. When checking out online there was an option to ship a physical card but not an option to select the shipping method. Seeing as there was a $6 charge for shipping I assumed they would at least ship priority mail so they'd be able to provide tracking information. 1-week passed and my friend never received the gift card (she's located in metro Atlanta so it's no reason it wouldn't have been delivered in 1-week). I called the spa multiple times requesting an e-gift card...was promised one would be issued multiple times yet never received it. I called again and asked could my friend simply give them a call and schedule over the phone since they seem to have such difficulty in fulfilling the gift card delivery by mail or email. I was spoke with the Lead named Stephanie and she assured me that my friend could call the spa...ask to speak with her and schedule her massage using the amount I'd already paid. My friend called the spa and literally left a voice message on the answering machine for Stephanie...providing her name and contact information , my name and contact information (as the gift card purchaser), providing the invoice # for the gift card and referencing the scenario that had occurred as Stephanie was familiar with the situation. Days passed and no one ever returned my friends call. At this point...it's been 2-weeks since I purchased the gift card online and my friend has neither received the physical gift card nor virtual card nor has she received a call back to schedule the massage over the phone. With such poor customer service my friend no longer wanted to receive her massage at this location as the experience for both her and myself was absolutely horrible prior to even having any services rendered. I finally received a call from the general manager (Mrs. Howell) 2-weeks after my initial purchase and was told it's not the spa's issue that the gift card never arrived and it's a post office issue. I was also told that the reason the gift card was shipped via standard mail without any tracking is because I didn't select Priority Mail for delivery. This is literally laughable as their website doesn't even offer the ability to select a shipping method. It simply states "shipping" at the rate of $6. Mrs. Howell being the General Manager should be aware of the fact that their website doesn't offer the selection of shipping methods and also should ship gift cards via a method that allows for tracking information to be provided...how else would the customer know if/when it ships and when to expect it or even if it's lost? When I asked Mrs. Howell for a refund of the shipping fee she told me it's not their issue and she will not refund any money and (in her words) "it is what it is". At that point I realized I was dealing with a highly unprofessional individual and business and decided to disengage completely. Luckily I've visited the Perimeter location before so reached out to them and was advised that I can provide them with the receipt showing I paid for the gift card and they would honor it for my friend at their location. Please do not patron this location. A spa should be a relaxing and pleasant experience. This location and its employees are incompetent and unprofessional. They completely ruined my birthday surprise for my friend and made trying to correct the issue a total nightmare. Please go to the Perimeter location if you want a peaceful and relaxing experience with a professional staff. read more

I visited this spa during memorial weekend in need of relaxation. Upon arrival they do have free parking in a nearby garage with validation. I was 10 minutes late and told by the receptionist to hurry and get dressed. I was late trying to find the place because am not from the area and visiting from out of state. The customized lockers had my name on it and was very cute. I was told because I was late that my massage would have 10 minutes shaved off the hour. There wasn't many people in the massage lounge so I think they could have accommodated the full hour. After the massage, I asked if I could get a tour of the spa since they didn't give me one in the beginning. The receptionists were very young, and didn't seem that knowledgeable about services and how to accommodate guests. Also, the slippers and robe they gave me were too large and looked used. Overall my massage was mediocre. The facility is beautiful but a bit on the small side. They could improve by actually having aromatherapy throughout the facility and more tenured professionals. read more

Today, I visited the Woodhouse Spa in Buckhead. The massage I received today was okay. However, my review focuses not on my spa service, but on the management's policy of automatically adding a 20% gratuity, on top of the service cost. While I believe in tipping. I have an issue with being dictated the amount I must tip, regardless of the service quality. The tip I was charged today was $78 on top of my total bill. During my conversation with the management team, including the general manager, their justification for added 20% to customer bill was due to customers leaving without tipping, so they unilaterally decided for this store location that they will make it mandatory to charge 20% on each customer service without putting it in writing. This approach is legally questionable and could lead to potential other action being taken. If Woodhouse Spa Buckhead wishes to enforce such a policy, it should be implemented correctly and transparently to avoid surprising customers, particularly when the service I received today was not good. It would have been more acceptable if Woodhouse Spa Buckhead had clearly communicated these mandatory charges upfront. They could have place notification in the store for customer to see, the acknowledgment document customers sign ( which I do read) or on their website of the policy mandatory 20% gratuity. In my case, I did not see this anywhere. I am disappointed because my massage was okay, not great, which, in my opinion, did not warrant a 20% tip, but perhaps a 10% tip at most. read more
