I was gifted a massage from my husband on Valentines Day weekend so I was very excited to visit Woodhouse Spa as it was so highly recommended. I got the hot stone Swedish massage with deep tissue add on and it was hands down one of the best massages I've ever had! The heated stones were the perfect temperature-- warm enough to radiate heat deeply into my muscles, and when they were finally placed in my hands and feet, the warmth seemed to envelop my entire body. As she moved along my arms and legs, the texture of the stones created a gently scratchy sensation that was incredibly satisfying, almost like the soothing pleasure of a light back scratch-- relaxing in a way that's hard to describe but instantly calming. When the stones were placed on different areas of my body, the warmth seemed to travel through my entire limb, creating a full body sense of ease and releases combined with the doused deep tissue work, it completely melted away tension. I also really appreciate firm pressure and in past massages, I've often felt like it just wasn't quite enough. Shantronda, however, delivered exactly why I was hoping for-- strong and consistent pressure that truly worked into the muscles. I walked out feeling lighter, looser and deeply restored, which was exactly what I needed. I recently visited for Saturday afternoon appointment with a large party (6). It was easy to work with the staff to schedule multiple appointments. The location is so charming and bright - there is a sunroom area that can booked for large parties. We checked in a few minutes late for our group however the team was very accommodating getting us checked in and ready. I thoroughly enjoyed my standard massage - the treatment room was spacious and clean. I did change in the treatment room to be able to take full advantage of my appointment time and then I was escorted to the locker room area to change into a room and enter the quiet room for tea and relaxation. However this experience was not relaxing. The spa was extremely busy and the quiet room was so packed there was barely anywhere to sit. With so many people even in hushed tones the room was not very quiet. It is also co-ed which I don't normally enjoy when you are in a robe partially nude (and we weren't given a heads up). The locker room area is small and little tight for all of the people that were in the room. One of our party was unable to make the appointment and we could loudly hear a staff member/manager complaining that they were not informed in advance (which could have been addressed at check in) and made us feel unwelcome. Once we were paying we were loudly asked who would be paying for the appointment since it was not cancelled in time (which we did pay with no discussion) but it would have been appreciated to address with more tact. Overall I enjoyed massage but I would definitely ask prior to booking if they have a full house during the time slot you want to make sure you can actually walk around and enjoy the spa. This place is THE cutest! Loved the former mansion converted into a spa with the original floors and lighting fixture. It was so charming. Checked in and headed to the changing room and came out in a robe. Was there with a group so we had our choice of the sunporch and lounge rooms to hang out in in-between services. There are always snacks and fruit and tea and water available and they made mimosas available for our group. I had a facial with April and a massage with Dave and both were incredible. I emerged glowing and relaxed and ready to take on the world. I would love to return solo when I'm back in town. read more

I recently spent a spa day at The Woodhouse Spa and had mixed experiences. The front desk staff if very professional and attentive. The Swedish massage with Sandy was very good; relaxing and professionally done. The facial with Paula was the standout of the day, with excellent technique and high-quality products; I left feeling refreshed and glowing. Unfortunately, the pedicure left much to be desired. The nail tech was kind and attentive, but the service didn't meet the same standard as the other treatments. The building was out of hot water that day, which I understand; however, I noticed another customer having her water heated by the front desk staff with an electric kettle throughout her pedicure, which was disappointing given the circumstances. It would have been nice to have been informed about the hot water issue ahead of the service, I probably would have opted for a different service. The package cost was $370 plus tip, and for that price I expected a consistently excellent experience. There are definite strengths here, but consistency across services could be improved. read more

By far, one of the best self-care spa experiences I've ever had. This was my third visit to this location, where I previously had two massages, and it was my first-ever facial experience. I was very nervous, not knowing what to expect beyond what family and friends had told me about getting a microderm facial. Upon arriving, I noticed the front area was short-staffed, but having worked in customer service, it didn't bother me. Despite being busy, they spotted me from the gift shop register and called me by my first name, which was a pleasant surprise. I arrived exactly at my appointment time, and the front desk ensured I had enough time for my facial, leading me to the waiting area where I was offered a fantastic mimosa. Just before my appointment, I received a call, and Stephanie kindly allowed me an additional five minutes to finish it, ensuring I could focus entirely on my facial. When Stephanie came in, she inquired about my skincare routine and concerns. Having moved to Denver four years ago from a humid climate, I noticed my skin's elasticity and moisture retention had declined, especially over the age of 40. After discussing my concerns, Stephanie recommended a hydra facial and suggested peels and masks to enhance moisture retention and begin reducing the scars and dark spots caused by my acne from PCOS and other issues. The entire experience left me feeling wonderfully lightheaded, as if I'd just had a five-hour full-body massage--even though it was just a facial! This speaks volumes about Stephanie's expertise, skill, and passion for facial self-care. Her enthusiasm and commitment to making me feel great were evident, and I could see the pride on her face knowing she did an excellent job. I want to thank everyone at Woodhouse Spa for consistently providing exceptional experiences, even when I'm late by 15 to 30 minutes. My service provider Sae is excellent and always has been. The downstairs noise level is loud and often not a relaxing experience. The check in and some service providers are loud and oblivious that there are others in the room for a relaxing experience. I've filled out their after visit surveys and suggested a sign for the pedi room asking people to use low voices but that has never happened. I don't think anyone really cares. A $90-100.00 nail experience should be better. read more

I have been Struggling with infertility for many years and so I made myself a massage for Mother's Day 3 weeks in advanced because I know this would be a busy day. They called to cancel my appointment because they aren't on top of scheduling/computer systems. Overbooked. Now every spa in the city is booked and I am without a self care appointment. I usually love this spa but the lack of planning on their part is very frustrating. I booked a massage (for today) with my normal therapist and they called me 1.5 hours before the massage to tell me that my normal therapist isn't there anymore. I booked this appointment over a month ago and had another treatment right after. I took the day off of work and was looking forward to this day for weeks. The woman I spoke with was nice but if you know a provider isn't there anymore why would you call me an hour and a half before my appointment. The only thing they offered was to not charge me a fee for canceling my other appointment because I wasn't going to drive all the way there (I don't live close). I'm really disappointed and I hope they can implement a practice to review the schedule in advance so that they can notify folks ahead of time. read more

I am a "regular" at Woodhouse these days for their Hydrafacial services. It is the best of both worlds: the benefit of a medical spa grade facial, with some of the perks of being at a real spa. Arrive a little early and relax in the meditation room (and have some tea and/or a snack while you wait), then enjoy a bit of aromatherapy and light massage in-between the facial treatment. Chanel is my go-to person for all things skin these days, and she always has product recommendations. I particularly like the Skinceuticals "Discoloration Defense" teamed with a Vitamin C serum. It does wonders for the sun spots that we Coloradans experience regularly. Back in November I purchased a package: 4 facials for the price of 3 and it has been worth the cost. read more

I came here for a massage a while back. I love the place, the vibe is great, and the massage was excellent- with one exception. I was enjoying the massage when I smelled something unpleasant, like feet, which was unexpected. I then noticed that the masseuse had taken her shoes off, and it was her feet that I was smelling. I felt too shy to ask her to put her shoes back on. This was the only downside to my experience and I hope they will ask their staff to stay shoed in future as I would come back if the air stayed clear. read more

I love a good Woodhouse Day Spa moment. I feel like the bang for your buck is very good in terms of their massages and love being able to plan a girls outing with friends. This location has plenty of masseurs so it is easy for all 5 of us to get an appointment at the same time. They give you lovely refreshments and the robe is to die for. The only thing about this location is that if you're looking for a quiet room to read in, it's harder to come by than the Golden location. Very cute historic building with all the feels. Massage was good although it was very quick repetitive motions and I think I prefer slower deeper motions but it was still good. Was going to do 3 stars but I do plan to go back and give it another go. I'm not usually counting the minutes but I really needed every one of the 50 minutes. It was a few minutes short of a 50 minute massage. I arrived at 8:32am, greeted with the offer of a mimosa so that made it a great start. I waited until just after 9, I recall looking at my phone, it was 9:03am when my name was called. I turned my phone off at 9:05am and after getting into the massage bed and waiting for the therapist to enter it was probably closer to 9:10am when she started and was finished at 9:52am. I try not to be too particular or high maintenance but maybe I'll get a few more of the full minutes next time. read more

Went here the other day for the first time, for a 50 minute massage with David. Could not recommend it more. I have been getting massages all my life. My mother used to own a day spa and my sister graduated from the Swedish institute of massage. David, and I can only imagine the other therapists here clearly know what they are doing. I was so excited for my first experience at a nice spa and that was quickly ruined when it wasn't an experience at all. It was Valentine's Day and my boyfriend booked us a couples massage the whole experience was so rushed, we didn't get robes or even place to change. We changed with the masseuse lunch behind a divider?! We weren't shown any of the drinks/relaxing amenities. My partner asked for female masseuses for my comfort and was never communicated that there wouldn't be. Nothing against the masseuses that was enjoyable but everything before and after felt like I could've gotten a massage from a cheap nail salon. read more

Today I had The Soma. And it was very bad experience. The Soma includes shirodara. Shirodara is massage when warm oil is dripped for a long time on the forehead and hair, and then massage is done. Let me say first, instead of hanging bowl, I was sprayed with oil from the plastic looking ketchup bottle. Then she dripped oil in my eye. The massage wasn't so bad but it was very cold in the room. The worst thing there was no shower and nobody didn't tell me about it. Afterwards I was only given one towel to wipe off tons of oil. I was forced to put my nice clothes on top of the oil. it ruined my clothes. As well I stained the interior of my car. I had to throw my clothes away because they are covered in oil. Adorable old historic home! Online booking platform was great. Check in was quick, which I was happy about thanks to cutting it close. Locker area and showers available. From a big chested and big hipped girls complaint - can we get the 2XL robes please??? It's not just you, happens at a lot of spas - but those who pull it off seamlessly - I'm in love. The locker area was a bit cramped and no Diana/steam room(but it's an old house) - bathroom stall door didn't lock? Massage facial and pedi were all very good and staff was friendly. Pedicure chairs could use an upgrade. I was a 9 am appt so early to drink yeah - but kinda surprised between my 3 treatments no one offered anything. After I paid I said I was hanging out in the adorable (but hot!) sun room to let my toes dry - then I was offered a drink. Yea I was cutting it close to my 9 am arrival (literally 1 min ) - but the follow through was lacking. It did feel like staff was hanging out bored in the boutique area or in the hall way of treatment rooms on their phones, so that's why I'm saying proactive service. There were some dirty glasses in the lounge and the one tea was running out. I also recommend honey for the tea. Covid protocols were great though and the retail area was robust! Overall I would go back in a heartbeat, just giving constructive feedback cause I do it for those businesses I love! Audra on massage and Paula on skincare were fabulous!!! read more

Rachel was wonderful and the service was nice and some what relaxing. I have been to other Woodhouse locations and will never return to this Denver location. The building although cute does not provide a spa like atmosphere. It was cold, the floors creaked every time my therapist moved, the room was super bright and loud. The window must have been opened because I heart every car and motorcycle drive by. The music was awful and so distracting. The quiet room was nice but super cold. The dressing room was cramped and several of the lockers didn't work. I have been to world class spas and this doesn't come close- overpriced for a lackluster ambiance and overall experience. read more
