I've been seeing him for cleanings and the occasional cavity for over five years, and while going to the dentist sucks no matter what, he definitely makes it suck much less. He also actually told me that I "over brush"... I always thought the more brushing the better, but apparently my gums were taking a beating. Good to know! What I really am about to write about has been a long time coming, though. After four years of Dr. Meier telling me I seriously need to get all my wisdom teeth cut out (and me blowing him off repeatedly out of fear & procrastination,) I'm finally calling his office tomorrow to schedule that dreaded event for sometime in August. I read great reviews about LD and got a sense from the website of very friendly staff. I also liked the name - It made me think of calmness. Who wouldn't like to be lakeside while having dental work done? This place does not sit at a lakeside, but rather a regular strip mall. A restaurant at the end has a tiny back portion by a pond. When I initially called, a very quiet, monotone, and not very cheerful person made my appointment. They made the potential fee for no-shows abundantly clear up to the appointment day. The lobby was nicely decorated and gave a calm impression. The same woman that initially took my call checked me in, still monotone and grumpy. The dental hygenist was the only great experience here. She was friendly and extremely thorough! Then I was told that the dentist was running late getting to the office. What about lateness and no-shows? Hmm In any case, the dentist showed up before too long. I found her to be standoffish and cold in my first impression. She checked my teeth and almost seemed put out about the potential work. She just got up and left afterward without saying a word to me. No, thank you for choosing her practice... no, nothing. Gee, I guess we are done here? The brought some guy in in scrubs and he proceeded to try and convince me as well. When I asked who he was, they said that they call him Frank. When I refused, the girl that does the insurance, maybe the office manager, told me that if I didn't have it done, they would notify the hospital where I had an upcoming procedure scheduled and tell the hospital that I had an infection, so I would not be able to have the procedure done. I went to two other dentists, and both of them said that there was absolutely nothing wrong with the tooth the wanted to extract. If you're looking for a dentist, I'd highly recommend that you look elsewhere! In my opinion , these folks are nothing but crooks and have absolutely no integrity! I should have known not to go to an old Hardee's that has been converted into a dentist office.

We have gone through many office changes and never had an insurance issue or procedure issue until now. With a mishap with nitrous being given for a procedure when we signed for it NOT to be used because it makes my daughter sick and the office manager's unprofessional treatment with an insurance issue, we are done. I cannot trust that we will not have any further problems with insurance filing. She indicated that their providing insurance information is a courtesy, not part of their job. So when scheduling an appointment, it is my job to know when we can schedule to be covered, since it's our insurance, it's our job to know what's covered and how to schedule. This was all over a cleaning appointment for my daughter, which was two weeks too early for coverage. However, all they had to do was resubmit to insurance, as I asked for. Plus, when we schedule, we always ask to schedule when we are available according to insurance coverage. After calling to see ow to get this taken care of with the insurance, the office manager insisted I pay and asked 8 times during our phone call how I'd like to pay for the cleaning. She sent us text messages with a payment link, and then she put our accounts for the whole family under review so we could not make any appointment changes. When I called my insurance and asked why it wasn't paid, they said the office could ask for a resubmission or clarification. Also, they asked for codes I had no idea about. Since the office manager would not call and do a resubmission, I contacted our company's insurance agent for help. The insurance issued payment a week after this call with the office manager. Never in all my life have we ever been treated so rudely by an office/insurance person at any doctor's office.
