Our food was cold. The fish was way over cooked to the point you couldn't eat it. Sad cuz this place use to be so good.

Was in town visit family, and decided to give Woods Place a try. It is seat yourself, and we were promptly waited on. We ordered the bacon cheese fries, and thought they were fair. The rolls and hush puppies were great. In our group of three, we had the chicken filets in gravy, chicken salad and crispy chicken salad. The entrees were very good and were generous portions. To top it off, it came with a free slice of gooey butter cake. The service was excellent and the food was affordably priced. Would recommend! read more

We loved this place! Our food was sooo good. The catfish fillets were big and crispy fried. The relish was fresh and homemade. The fried chicken was delicious. I can't say enough about the food. We arrived at 1:45 but they were still busy from lunch. They greeted us immediately and seated us. They brought us hot rolls and hushpuppies right away. We could see the kitchen staff through the pass through and they were all smiling. Even though they were so busy with tons of to go orders and the house was packed. We are new to Camden and have been trying out various restaurants in the area. This has been the best home cooked food we've found! Love their fresh rolls and hush puppies they give you to snack on while waiting for your food. Delicious! And their chicken fried steak is the best ever! Very good choice for dinner! I had the catfish with fried shrimp combo. My sides were onion rings and fried pickles. Pretty sure my cholesterol went up 200 points but it sure was good! They bring out rolls and hush puppies with your drinks. Plate full of food and very friendly staff. read more

We ended up here because it was one of only two places open on Monday night. The server was terrific. If only the quality of the food had matched her, I'd not been disappointed. We both had the fried catfish and I found it flavorless, whether or not it was dunked in the tartar sauce. The hush puppies, though crisp (good), lacked flavor. Very " meh". Coleslaw was the sole redeeming dish. Excellent and probably worth buying to eat all by itself. I cannot say enough about how amazing this place is. It is truly a mom and pop diner and we even met the owner as he was checking on all the tables. He even showed a girl that walked in, a table with a plug so she could work on homework. The food was delicious! The meal started with fresh hushpuppies and rolls served at the table with homemade tarter sauce and butter. The sweet tea was perfect and the fish was amazing. It was perfectly battered and served with amazing sides. The only downside was they do not have beans. The friends that were with me had the chicken and fish combo and it was great. The chicken was fried in some amazingly flavorful batter and it was fresh and crispy. We also had fried pickles for an appetizer and they gave us a hole jar worth of pickles. Don't miss the jumbo fried shrimp. The breading is light and flavorful. I recommend the catfish and shrimp combo to try the best two items on the menu. Really a down home family kind of establishment. I had the club sandwich and wasn't too impressed. It might have been the processed cheese on it. I don't care for process cheese but the tomatoes and bacon rocked. My husband loved the burger and the hush puppies. All in all a nice place lots of families and energy here. read more

Best catfish I have ever had. Plus they have a wide variety of options on the menu. You can stop in for a deep fried feast or have a lighter grilled chicken option with a side of fruit. Very disappointed in Woods. I've ate here several times but am done. Back in the day is was a great place to eat. But the last couple of years seems to be getting worse. My last experience here was terrible. I came in a of course you have to seat yourself. 4 other couples came in after my wife an I. All other 4 got their drink orders and food ordered before us. A lot of the problem is your not seated so the waiters have no idea in my opinion. Poor management. It was always to pricey for Sysco food anyway. read more

This is not a fancy place, but a comfortable environment that is casual and "down home." Everything we have ever ordered is simply delicious! The portions are very good. So good, we always bring home food. The yeast rolls are fabulous and if we are torn between restaurants, the thought of the yeast rolls make me decide on Woods Place. The waitresses are always good, but the best one is Lisa, who always has a smile and goes the extra mile in serving us. Whether we have the lunch special or a fish dinner, we are always pleased. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because it doesn't have the ambience of a "fine dining" restaurant, but most of the time we are dressed casually when we are in Camden anyways! read more

Woods has the best shrimp and catfish around. If you are within a half hour of Camden and like catfish, go to Woods. You will thank me.

Best seafood joint in Camden! I grew up eating woods & I am nearly 30 and the deliciousness hasn't waivered!

i definitely will not eat here again. the food is good but the prices are elfing outrageous.... gone up 50 per cent since my last visit... catering may be worth it... but no dam fried fish is worth that amount... i will find someone in Ouachita county and talk them into opening a place...... investors , call me!!
