Our waitress Shelly was very friendly and helpful. She explained everything was made from scratch, the quality of the food certainly proved that to true The catfish tasted like it was just caught and lightly breaded in a cornmeal coating. So moist and fried to perfection. My 5 year old granddaughter who is very particular and only loves hard boiled eggs, Shelly to the rescue had two perfectly cooked eggs. The prices were reasonable and the quality and service exceeded expectations. My friend and I were meeting for breakfast and she highly recommended Woodsby's Cafe. I had arrived early and the parking lot was filled (considered a good sign). Upon entering the Cafe, I was greeted by the friendly staff and had grabbed a chair to wait for my friend. Be prepared to wait because the place was fully occupied. There wasn't an option to eat at the counter if one didn't want to wait. My friend arrived and we were seated at a table. Even though the place was packed, the noise level wasn't bad and we didn't need to shout to hear each other. Our server was friendly and attentive, even with the crowd. The food was good and comforting. It was not over-the-top, however it was tasty. My friend tried out the All Meat and Eggs bowl that she enjoyed. Our second time coming here and we sat at the bar again. We do enjoy the bar area the girls there are amazing. Food is great and customer service is always professional and friendly. Woodsby' used to be my favorite diner. But they have gone downhill ever since they made changes. They took away a lot of the charm. The music was very loud and the server seemed unhappy and spoke in a monotone. The food was not as good as it used to be, ingredients seemed cheaper and tasteless. The huge upcharges for small amounts of cheese, fruit, etc are outrageous. We used to go to Woodsby's frequently, but after the last 2 disappointing visits, we don't plain on returning. The food was amazing then they changed and instead of being the neighborhood diner they are trying to be come high class and things changed. This used to be my favorite place for breakfast and for a decent price. By far they used to have best biscuits in town and big now it appears they are store bought and half the size. I understand prices going up some but it has gotten crazy. Sorry Woodsby's but you have priced yourself out and food is not the same since you changed it appears like they are doing shrink inflation. This place has been around for a very long time, especially by Florida standards there's a reason they regularly get best of Osceola awards. The hash browns were seasoned perfectly and crispy but still chewy and soft, a great mix of textures. The gravy was thick and peppery. The fried pork was tender. This is my wife and I go to spot for breakfast. The cook makes one of the best scrambled eggs I've ever had, lightly cooked with cheese. As for the rest of the food, it's been very good and satisfying. Staffs are awesome and friendly. They're also open for lunch and dinner. Hopefully to come and try one of these days. read more

Unfortunately, our recent trip to Woodsby was, without a doubt, the worst "traditional" corned beef I have ever had. 1. It was fried. Traditional corned beef is steamed or (at the very least) boiled. 2. The corned beef was so greasy that the five dissected pieces that I did eat, I had to blot the piece on a napkin to get some of the grease off. There was literally a pool of grease on the plate. 3. This place is AMAZING!! Chef's kisses to Shelly who was kind, very pleasant, and knowledgeable while I quizzed her on the menu, and also to Chef Adam who is a culinary genius. Seriously, he didn't "make" food, he crafted it. There was magic going on in that kitchen! To start with, the blueberry pancakes were to die for. I posted a picture but that doesn't do these bad boys justice. My dining partner and I ordered the pancakes to share along with our entrees but the pancakes stole the show. First off, they are HUGE and were jammed with FRESH blueberries. Big, sweet blueberries too - not the small marbles you can get in the grocery store. I posted some pix but they don't come close to showing how delicious they are. The pancakes were thick and fluffy and had a very subtle bit of lemon zest that made me keep coming back for "one more bite". They reminded me of blueberry muffins. My only regret is refusing an offer for whipped cream on the side. Regardless they were heaven on a plate. My dining partner had the catfish breakfast with hash browns and he kept saying how fresh the catfish was. He also loved the hash browns. He knows his catfish and he doesn't give praise easily, so if you have a taste for catfish fried in a cornmeal batter that was NOT at all oily or overcooked, give this a try. I had the tuna sub and french fries and thoroughly enjoyed both. The fries tasted like real potatoes (what a concept, right?) and were thick but tender and fried to a lively golden brown. The tuna sub was at the next level. It was fresh, quality tuna that was not hidden in a ton of mayo. The dill pickles, thinly sliced onion, cheese and fresh tomatoes brightened it up, and although I hate to say the same word over and over, the bread was FRESH. Everything we ate was perfect. They were busy, so I get things happen, but I definitely did not enjoy my meal. Ordered eggs "over easy, with runny yolk" which apparently meant "undercook the eggs."
