What a cute little orchard! I really like this one because it is seemingly a little more adult friendly than many others this time of year. What it lacks in kiddie rides and corn mazes, it makes up for in hard cider to die for! I tried all six on tap...my favorite is the raspberry cider. Enjoyed it enough to bring home a growler. The pineapple is also great, but beware, very sweet! For u-pick apples, it's $16 for a bag. They have three varieties right now and the trees are still fully loaded. Beware of bees! The third Time was The Charm. About a month ago I resumed my annual Autumnal search on Long Islands North Fork. Woodside is famous for there Apple Cider,that is preservative Free. The backs story is That my Friends are into Hard Cider which has now become very Popular. The owners are extremely Friendly. For Hard Cider fans this is the ultimate brewer of Hard Cider. As I don't drink Hard Cider I can't review The Hard Cider, but I can tell you what my friends who do have told me. First they offer you a taste of The Cider which will be reviewed by my friends shortly on yelp. For hard cider fans you bring a Growler a large Glass jug and they fill it there to take home after you enjoy a Pint on there lovely grounds. I am a gourmand so I can tell you why people travel from NYC To Woodside. This product is not bottled Which means it was made fresh unlike the bottles on the store shelves. What this means to me is you are getting the Freshest Product in its purist state. If you are a novice they will sell you a refillable growler for the first time, and then you bring The Growler back. Woodside's small batch cider gets 5 stars from me on its brewing. Now what I can tell you is that their Apple Cider is better then any other farm cider I have had Nationwide. They sell this yummy product in a couple of Sizes. Just like a fine wine the aroma and taste are amazing. The Finish is so fresh and perfect for all meals as long as it's available . Perfect for Autumnal Dinners, and Thanksgiving, and the upcoming holidays. "Donuts" You must purchase there apple cider Donuts they were incredible!!! Tip pick up a bag first they sold out yesterday and almost had a contest with another customer, I Won!! Last tip. Get to Woodside soon they have received Great Press on News 12. This is a groovy little place! Small shack with both hard and regular cider, cider donuts made to order, and other baked goods. The crowd on the weekend is rather large and parking spills over into the main road. People here range from friendly, chill persons to the ever rambunctious, loud people out in back playing cornhole and sitting on the comfortable chairs. read more

I would love to give this place 3.5 stars. I like the place the more I go back. Everyone here tells you which ciders they have, growler prices and about the donuts (which are very good), but let me tell you what I did. I mixed the raspberry and cinnamon cider together. lol Yes I did. I wasn't all that good, but it wasn't all that bad either. I couldn't resist, It sounded good. the cider is OK. Not blown away by it. Great local orchard with hard cider tastings! The guys that are behind the counter are really cool and down to earth. I loved all four hard ciders they had on tap! $7 gets you a generous sized tasting of all 4 and a nice pint glass to take home. They even have apple wine! alright, i admit it. my childhood was bereft of any adventures in corn mazes. this is doubly-shocking if you know that this year for my birthday i'll be getting a tattoo of corn. but this past weekend a trip up to the north fork allowed me to fill this gaping void. enter woodside farms - home of the early bird 2-for-1 corn maze special!!! here's what went down. my buddy matt v approached the ticket seller and says, "these girls want in on the 2-for-1 special," referring to claire v and me. that's $6 for an adult, so basically $3 each. when the ticket seller realized that matt didn't want to join us he decided to throw in a ticket for free. score!! that's $2 per person. (or, in other math, a 66% discount per ticket.) anywho, onto the actual corn maze. IT WAS AWESOME!!!! it was surprisingly tricky. there were a couple moments when i figured i'd just have to give up, and would eventually die in the middle of the maze. at other times i'd wished i'd tied a piece of string to the entrance, a la theseus, but alas i lacked that foresight. eventually, all of us made our way to the exit (but not before about 100 harry potter and the goblet of fire jokes had been made). so the verdict is for corn mazes, this place rocks. p.s. stupefy! read more

Amazing local cider! Picked up a couple growlers and have been in and out ever since! Also the growlers can be filled at any of the other local breweries like Long Ireland, mustache, crooked ladder, or green port! Just unfortunate it's so close to that duck farm stench though.....kinda ruins sitting outside on the benches on those special days...... read more

I've been to both locations and the tasting room is absolutely wonderful. First time I went was pretty crowded and didn't have seating available so my boyfriend and I had to enjoy our ciders standing up. But the second time, we scouted a table for my group and got to sit and enjoy- until closing time! Ciders are $7 each and the growler I brought to be refilled cost me $14 I think. Great price and I've gotten 5 or 6 glasses out of it at least. There's usually a line for the donuts but they're well worth it. They're priced well also, but that makes it even easier to eat 2 or 3.. Quite simply they make excellent cider here! Most commercial cider is grossly sweet and designed to cater soda drinkers.There were four ciders to sample here - drier , sweeter and two fruit flavored . All were good. I bought a growler of the driest, traditional.No bottles are available. They also sell good cider doughnuts and apples. read more

A great local orchard which has homemade apple treats: cookies, pies, and breads in addition to a cider mill. They serve 4 different kinds of ciders: regular, extra sweet, raspberry, and cinnamon. I liked the raspberry the best while my wife enjoyed the cinnamon. They also do tastings of all 4 kinds for $6. The place is located in a rustic cabin with a golden lab retriever named Hank. So I've heard that bees are going extinict but I see no evidence of that at Woodside Orchards. There are probably hundreds of bees swarming the orchards because of crushed apples on the ground, and the garbage cans. Also 16 dollars for apple picking for a small paper bag. Way overpriced. Awesome find! I would skip the wineries and go here. This is definitely something different. I loved all the ciders. The cinnamon was the best ( in my opinion). Prices are good, I was expecting everything to be more expensive. Trying out all flavors only cost 6$. You can taste how natural the cider is. I did not get a donut, but they smelled amazing. Two negatives are that they are cash only ( I hate carrying cash around) and that you can smell the duck farm next store when you come in. read more

The cider is really great, for 16 bucks you get a nice big jug. I went with my wife, if you get there around 1pm or so there was quite a line of people that moved slow since everyone wanted a sampler of the cider. I've been here a few times. Last season they had an apple ginger cider that was great. This year the had a cinnamon cider that looked promising. Unfortunately, as the wife an I drank the reasonably priced growler ($18) we did not even get a hint of cinnamon. It was still decent cider but certainly not was expected. One of my favorite stops when I'm taking a drive out east. They've been branching out with new flavors, like a pumpkin-apple hard cider! This weekend I was there, enjoyed some hot-off-the-press cider donuts with a jug of hard cider. They had musicians playing outside. It was a great time. Id give zero stars if I could! I'm so angry and upset! We planned to pick some apples with our 18 month old daughter on a Friday. I looked up on their website which states it is open in riverhead to pick seven days, to make sure I called spoke to a live person who told me yep they were open at 1130 and yes we could pick. They even told me what varieties were ripe. We drove out there which took almost two hours with a crying child only to arrive and be told Nope sorry can't pick today, they also have an equally misleading sign near jamesport that direct you to their orchard only to then say it's closed but you can buy cider. Needless to say I think businesses should make sure their website is up to date, have correct information and any employee who will be answering phones and speaking to the public should absolutely be giving out accurate information! Sorry I never even got to experience anything they had to offer but there are plenty of other places that DO provide the right info id rather give them my money than this place! read more

I was doing the usual wine tasting with my girl friends, when suddenly, I saw this miracle spring up into my line of vision. What!? Cider with booze!? (Lover of booze and fall activities swerves car into parking lot, and was NOT under the influence.) My friend and I strolled up to the absolutely darling, adorable barn, not knowing what to expect. The barn is awesome and is adorned with several picnic tables outside in the front, for friends and family to enjoy their hard ciders. Not being able to make up my mind, we decided to do a hard cider tasting. All of them were delicious, but the BEST was the cinnamon apple! It tasted like straight Apple Jacks cereal! (Where my 90s kids at!?) So effing delicious! I was hashing out a plan to move to the farm to work there and be around the cider all day, when I was told that you can not only order a glass of the cider, but take GROWLERS home of whichever one you choose! *Heavy breathing* The cider was a huge hit among family and friends. I like this concept, it is different than the usual wine and vodka tasting. Cannot wait to try the cider donuts! Keep it up!!! read more

Delicious cider, I tried the raspberry cider. 3 stars because the setup of this place is horrible. It's extremely busy here and people are milling around the counter waiting for their tastings. It's very disorganized and people are just skipping each other or waiting behind people who are just waiting. I'd suggest giving people all 5 tasting glasses at once on a tray or have people who are doing tastings at a different counter. I would also suggest having one extra person working here because of all the traffic. I would have loved to try the donuts and more cider but I felt so rushed. read more

This place is a lifesaver! We were originally going to Harbes Family Farm for apple picking, which we were assured over the phone the morning before we could still do as there were plenty of apples. We show up first thing before they open the following morning and are told they are all out. Woodside was only a mile or two down the road. The staff was extremely friendly, there were plenty of apples for a reasonable price, and there was some great homemade hard cider and cider doughnuts! My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this place a little over three years ago on our way to go pumpkin picking. We'd never been to a hard cider mill before but we saw that they also had apple picking so we thought, "why not?" It's one of the best decisions we've made on the fly--three years later this place has grown a bit and is open more often than it used to be thanks to its well-deserved growing popularity. The only thing I can think of that might bother some people here is that the parking lot is small and unpaved and it's cash only, so make sure you stop at an atm before you arrive. The cider, however, is out of this world. They usually have a variety of four or five on tap to try plus a seasonal and every single one I've tried is absolutely delicious. The cinnamon is my favorite, but lemon in the summer is a unique one, and the ginger is also interesting and pleasant. They also usually sell cookies, pies, and apple cider donuts, all of which are overwhelmingly delicious. You can buy growlers in addition to buying glasses, and I'd say the price is worth it to have a bunch of cider to bring home, especially because, in my opinion, there's no way you're going to find a more delicious cider on shelves. I also enjoy their outdoor setup of chairs and tables--I suppose it's nothing "special" but everything is laid out nicely to give things a laid back feel if you come with a group of friends. In the summer on Fridays they even used to do a small fire with a live musical artist. I'm not sure if they still do, but when we went, it was so relaxing and fun. The staff has always been very nice and even seem to remember us when we go back. I have nothing bad to say about this place and I could go on all day about how wonderful it is. If you're heading out east, this place is a must. read more
