They have cider donuts! I repeat - they have CIDER DONUTS!!! I know, it may seem like I am WAY too excited about cider donuts, but as a kid who grew up in farmland in New England, I miss that particular mixture of flavors so much. To be able to buy them at all, much less warm out of the fryer with the guy making them standing right there - that was a bit of a miracle. In addition to the delicious donuts, Woodside has 4 hard ciders on tap for tasting and purchase in growler form. I've always been a cider fan, especially for the drier, tarter kinds. If that's your gambit as well, try the traditional. If you like a sweeter cider, try the traditional sweet. Like berries? They have a raspberry cider made with raspberries grown on the farm alongside the apples! And the cinnamon was a delightfully seasonably appropriate option. If you are tired of wine, try cider. With six different varieties of cider there is something for everyone. It's a relaxed atmosphere with even some recreational games outside. Personally liked the original, ginger and blueberry mango ciders and took Home a jug of the original. But the real find there are the Apple cider donuts. As a frequent visitor to the NoFo (2-3x per week), I can't believe I've missed WO and never even knew it existed! As a result, I was incredibly happy to see that they were the first stop on our Yelp / Tapped Enterprises Bus Tour and boy, where do I even begin? Do I begin with my love for their Traditional, Sweet, or the Raspberry? Gosh...the traditional paired exceptionally well with their warm donuts that were being made fresh as we walked in :). For $6 you get about 1/3 pint of each of their 4 ciders. For $2 more you get to keep your pint glass. The choices were regular, sweet, raspberry and cinnamon. I thought all were nice. Raspberry was the favorite. A growler will be coming back on our next trip. Unfortunately we didn't get to try their cider wine which appeared to be a new offering. They said they weren't setup to offer tastings of it (yet). But bottles were available. I did grab a crumb apple pie on the way out. It was delicious! Apple was cutup into small pieces (the way I like) and the pie was just the right thickness. I would definitely grab one of these over Briermere's apple pies, which I think are very overrated. read more

My friends and I were staying nearby for a weekend trip and came across Woodside Orchards more by chance. We found delicious hard cider and fresh, warm cider donuts waiting for us. Who knew that Woodside Orchards had hard cider?! My girlfriends were excited to try to variety of ciders and were pleasantly surprised to find that the ciders were not too sweet. I love cider - but this just wasn't for me. I was SO excited about the flavor selection but it was honestly---- not the flavor I was hoping for. They need some serious work on the layout because once it started to get busy it was chaos trying to get to the counter, especially because if you are doing a tasting you can come right up to the front to get the sample. They had some cool flavors but I really thought they were going to be better. I didn't find anything that i LOVED enough to take a growler home, which I fully intended to do so upon arrival, sad. Meanwhile everyone kept talking about the cider donuts which I wanted to try but I never got the chance because the place became a mob scene, disappointing. I wish some places would get with the times and use credit. Sheesh. BEES EVERYWHERE, I knew that comes with the territory but there was a queen bee sitting on the barrel, trash was piling up outside and people were too scared of the bees to get anywhere near it to put the trash IN the overflowing bin of garbage. Plus they cut the orchard off to the public so you can't even walk around and take pictures, you just have to stand in the parking lot area since there isn't enough seating for the amount of people they attract. read more

This was a fun place to pass through, but it didn't leave an impact on me for me to want to return. It was a nice place to stop at, pick some Long Island apples, have a cider donut and try their hard ciders. I came here with friends for a day trip of apple picking and wine tasting. We all paid $15 for a bag, and ended up requesting our money back since there was barely any apples to pick! The staff happily obliged and did warn us of the slim apple pickings. The trees are small, so if you have small kids who want to pick apples off the trees, then this is a good place. But if your looking to climb trees for apples, this is not your place to be. After we picked our apples and tasted our cider donuts, we tried their flight of hard cider. The Rasberry was the hit out of all of them. Its a great idea, but it would have been more convenient if they gave us all of the ciders at once, instead of constantly having to go back to the counter to get a fill on the next flight. By the time I sat down with my friends, I had to get up again to try the next flavor. Very annoying. Overall this is a cool place to stop in if your just passing by, but I wouldnt make it a "go to" spot. read more

I can't speak for their hard cider since I'm allergic to all types of alcohol (legit.), BUT I can speak for their apples and cider doughnuts. I was a bit upset to see that their U-pick farm wasn't open to visitors in prime apple-picking season, but I did appreciate their large selection of ready-picked apples in their main store/barn. There was a minimum of 8 types of apples available and the apples were of great quality, too. They weren't bruised and they were huge! Half a peck of apples held about 8 apples and cost $8. Their smaller option had about 4 apples and cost $4. The man who assisted us was extremely knowledgable and super helpful - something I really appreciated. And now, I have to talk about their cider doughnuts. Why? Because they were THE BEST cider doughnuts I've ever had. Seriously. They were baking them on-site and right in front of you. When we bought a bad of 6, they were still warm and melted in your mouth. I think a bag goes for $4. My boyfriend and I stopped by a couple of other farms/stands that day who happened to be sampling their cider doughnuts, but nothing came close to Woodside's. Downside: cash only. read more

BEST please to go apple picking, especially if you like to apple pick while sippin on some delicious hard cider. There's two places to go, one to sit and sip, have a apple doughnut or cookies. Then later drive about 1.5 miles up to the big apple fields. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the lack of Porto potty's at the main apple cider bar area. Only 2 and they are NASTY! But you drink enough hard cider, close your eyes and go quick and its okay haha. Also, it was supper disappointing this year there was no cinnamon apple cider, they replaced it with pumpkin apple, and it was NOT good :( Bring back the cinnamon next year!! read more

The last stop on a northeast day yesterday for my girlfriend and I was this lovely little cider house. I'm not a huge cider drinker as I prefer traveling around the island sampling local beers, but being near Woodside and having heard about it, I wanted to give it a try. I must say I was blown away by the quality of cider and hospitality we were given. For starters, Woodside resembles any brewery taproom you might find on Long Island, but with an original twist. It's extended to the outdoors with a few picnic tables in the front and areas to hangout in the back. Inside you'll find a beautiful wood-finished taproom with tables and standing barrels (which can be used as a tabletop). The tap handles are different-shaped pieces of wood giving the final touch to a rustic feel in Woodside. For $6 you can try the ciders they have on tap (for us it was traditional cider, traditional sweet, apple raspberry, and ginger apple which were all lovely). While tasting each one, the Woodside employee chatted with us a bit about the cider and the day in general which made us feel welcome. My girlfriend is a big cider-head and enjoyed them enough to want a growler of one of the ciders we tried, though she wasn't sure what to choose. The employee then told us to finish up our last taste because he might have something else for us to try. We were given a fifth flavor not listed (he winked at us and told us they don't really "have" anymore of that flavor currently) which was delicious, and then combined it with one of the four we had originally tried creating a whole new flavored cider. My girlfriend went with this wonderful concoction and also bought a pint glass. We were then given a little history/story about the creation of the logo (an extremely clever one that is an apple with the shape of Long Island as the leaf). Our last purchase was a bag of apple cider donuts that were absolutely scrumptious (I didn't even eat mine until today and it was still moist and flavorful). Overall, I have grown a new appreciation for cider and would gladly return to Woodside over and over to support this local cider house. read more

Very cool place to spend the fall days with friends, kids, dates... Everything was delicious, hard cider, donuts, apples. Very nice ambiance. There is a very cute/cool picnic area designed to kick back, have a few laughs and drink the good stuff. Only downside is that, apparently, there is no apple picking during the weekends. Bummer. Simply aweful. Sampled all six hard ciders. They are mostly mixed flavors -- cider with ginger, pineapple, raspberries, etc. Why drink cider if you are going to taste other fruits. The owner was really nice and you can tell he is passionate about his business. I can't wait to see how Woodside Orchards grows in the next few years. The adjunct services are good. they serve a variety kind of hard apple cider, apple cider donuts, cider slush (only 1 bucks a cup), and related apple products. those are delicious, serving different needs for apples. the farm/market next door also have a small picnic area. If u are looking for some more country experience, head over and enjoy some more food. however, i think the actually apple picking is a little lacking. I understand why they limited two kinds of apples to pick for each day so their apple last a whole season. but on a sat we went, there is not much variety to pick - mainly only one left. I am not a good baker, so I was more looking for a straight-to-eat type, but here is only one green apple trees around for us to pick. the activity itself is fun, especial on a sunny day. A good place for a fun afternoon on the north fork of long island. Both orchards are not far from where the LIE ends. Make sure to check their website before visiting to see which orchard is opened for U pick. U pick Apple selection is lacking but their cookies and hard cider are delicious. Large parking lot and area so you do not feel crowded. The location is great as it is near vineyards and on the way home stop by tanger for some shopping. Tip drive into the driveway instead of parking on the streets as there should be spots in the lot. read more

Fantastic Fall Find!!! They were charging $15 for a bag and you are welcome to pick all the apples you can carry in the bag! I left with enough to last me quite awhile... They also sell freshly baked cider donuts, delish chocolate chip cookies and pies, honey, and last but not least HARD CIDER- there were 5 varieties and my fave was the raspberry. From the city is 2hrs away, last exit on the LIE like is says but it's not all the same. For 1, it only has pies, donuts and the liquor. 2. there's no FOOD. After a long drive people would like real food. 3. This place is amazing! Unfortunately they have no more apples for the season but that's ok because they have hard cider and delicious treats. The staff is super friendly and funny. My friends and I got a 32 oz bottle of raspberry hard coder which was amazing. A 32oz bottle is $11 and a refill was $9. Their apple spice donuts was 5 donuts for $5 and it was totally worth it. Woodside is one of my favorite places on the east end of Long Island which is strange as I'm not a huge cider drinker. Since the first time I've gone last year I've been hooked on their drinks as well as their giant chocolate chip cookies. I'd highly recommend their Cinnamon cider although I think it's seasonal (had it a couple of times in the beginning of the summer) so it may have been swapped out for another already. I also really enjoyed the Pumpkin cider last fall. Honestly, they're all very good so you really can't go wrong with any of them. Finally, I'd be remiss to not mention the apple cider doughnuts. Totally disappointed. We returned to the Woodside Cider to have our growler refilled. We were told they would not refill it. The attendant was curt and disrespectful to us. Now that businesses are reopening we expected a more welcoming atmosphere. The company should make better provisions to accommodate loyal customers. Great cider and amazing environment. In the summer they have this outdoor area in the back you can just sit and relax and enjoy your flight of cider at. They were even very accommodating to my Mom who doesn't drink much. They let her purchase for $2 a small sample so she could drink a little with us and not have to buy an entire glass or flight. I've been in the winter as well. Very good place with great drinks and yummy cider doughnuts that smell up the entire room with goodness and cinnamon. read more

adorable I think is the perfect word for this place. I will say I recently just went and it being the winter none of the outside events were open. Which only means ill have to come back in the summer. when you walk in you are hit with the smell of cedar which just makes you feel happy.
