We had to pay extra for parking - so that added another $45 a night for self park, more for the valet. There is a small indoor pool which I don't want to use in the middle of summer - give me an outdoor option! And the location wasn't the greatest for walking around. We asked the clerk how to get down to the river to walk around and he advised against it, telling us it wasn't safe!! I guess homeless people sleep on the riverwalk and hassle people when they walk by. We did go down there, 2 males and I, but did stop short of what looked like a homeless enclave.

Sitting right on the river, the views were exquisite. The neighborhood was cute. Several bars and restaurants were all within walking distance. The staff from outside in could not have been more welcoming and professional. The valet guys were so friendly and sweet. Inside, the young lady at the desk was all smiles. We felt welcome and appreciated. The lobby, hallways and other public spaces were modern and clean. The feel was stylish, yet classic and well maintained. Our connecting rooms felt sooo good! They were luxurious yet comfortable. My friend loved the huge tub in her room and promptly took a bubble bath. I took a nap in my comfy bed that was so inviting. Rested, we were off to explore Grand Rapids for a bit. We checked out early the next morning to go visit the Frederic Meier Botanical Garden before heading back to Chicago. She simply didn't care. You pay to park 18.00 a day. Our king sized room was very nice, probably could use a new mattress. You have to turn on shower water to hot and let it run for about 10 minutes before you get any type of hot water. Not sure we would stay here again if we had a choice.

When I got o my room I couldn't find the thermostat to turn up the heat, I called the front desk and they sent a female security guard to help me find the panel, it was behind the tv. In the morning I was as able to get coffee at the coffee bar. They have a full breakfast with a made to order omelet bar. The lobby is very open with a water feature that makes sitting in the lobby to work or have a meeting very peaceful.

My biggest complaint was I was askied at check in if I wanted a higher level room, away from the elevator, etc. I asked to be as far away from the elevator as possible, which apparently meant right behind the elevator, which I coild hear grinding away at all hours of the day. For starters, there is a convenient parking structure attached to the hotel. I believe it's about $30 a day to park. There are multiple things all within walking distance. Bars, restaurants, speak easies... You name it. They have a great rooftop bar open on the summer and with good weather. The view isn't anything spectacular but it's pretty and it's a nice set up. On Weds they give you two drink tickets for beer and wine. Yes please! They also have a bar on the third floor (? I think) but that bar is not open if the rooftop is. They have cookies all day on Weds and free coffee and breakfast daily. You really can't ask for more! Oh. And they are suites. So big rooms with lots of space and kitchens. The staff is super friendly too. We have always had a great stay here and I recommend checking it out.

There was a scrapbooking convention and a few sports teams, but I found that the accommodations were pretty quiet on the sixth floor. The host was able to change our room to a room that had not had a dog in it for over a month due to severe allergies (anaphylactic). The kickback meals were huge and delicious, and they had allergy friendly options for both of breakfast and the dinner for my big Allergy baby. There was a small fridge in the room that worked so well it froze a lot of our supplemental food we brought for those of us with allergies. The room was clean. We had laundry on our floor, which was incredibly helpful when my baby product exposed to an allergen. The front desk was able to take the cache I had and give me quarters for the machines. They had speed queen machines, which were efficient, but they definitely could've used a little bit of a cleaning. I didn't expect a lot since it was a hotel, laundry room but I was pleasantly surprised. If you don't have any allergies staying at a brewery, can save you so much money with all of the food choices. This is one of the best ones I've ever seen, and all of the staff was kind helpful, and communicated very well. Unfortunately, we didn't do the pool much just because of how packed and insane it was... the weight room could've definitely used a little spruce up. There were only three treadmills a recumbent bike and dumbbells up to 35 pounds. I was still able to get an OK workout in with the dumbbells, but a mat and inflating the ball would really go a long way. This hotel is an excellent area close to a target/Starbucks a Meijer 5 to 10 minutes from Cascades Park, which was perfect for my kids to get a little energy out after our travel day. There's also a Costco across the street which we are planning on refilling it before we leave.
