Just a quick drive from downtown Seward you'll find this lovely bohemian retreat. An array of the best songs from Madonna plays while you soak up the charming ambience. Every dish is made to order and our server Alissa was very nice to us despite our many questions. She was even able to make some awesome recommendations on local beers. Don't play with their spice levels, if they say it's spicy it is!! The food was fantastic and really large portions we honestly could have shared dishes but alas we have some take out!! Only giving a single star cause it doesn't allow me to rate in negative. I get there are limited options available in this tiny town, but I would request you to pick Starbucks over this! We ordered 4 different dishes and all turned out equally pathetic. The Ginger Rice was bland with no flavor at all, Holy Basil was equally tasteless, the Curry noodle soup was disgusting and the Drunken noodle was made in some sort of old oil cause it tasted yuck! I'm tired; coming down with a fever, my joints ache, and it's my birthday. As soon as my parents and I walk in, we could sit wherever we wanted because there wasn't a lot of people at 4:30pm. Food came out quickly. I ordered cream cheese wontons and the pad thai, which was DELICIOUS (and extremely filling). The pad thai was hot and made my nose run with it's comforting taste. The cream cheese wontons were delicately fried with the right amount of cream cheese. Was this place worth the money? Yes, if you split the massive portion with a friend. We called and they said they don't take reservations for a party of 8 but they have a table if we come down within 30 minutes. We come down in 10 and they gave the table away. I understand if there are no reservations, but don't say come down in that case. We had folks who struggled to get there quickly, so don't say come down if you won't hold the table 10 minutes. We've eaten here before and for Seward AK the food isn't bad. By city standards sub par, but the service was weak last time and now this, plus the mediocre food. Save your money and get seafood in Seward and get Thai in Anchorage. And if you call and they say come right down, don't believe it. read more

I did take out here. I wasn't super impressed. The food seems expensive even for the area. I got the pad Thai and thought it was ok. Pretty legit takeout Thai food in such a small town. My wife had the chicken and shrimp pad Thai and gave it the thumbs up. She's pretty picky about pad Thai too. Cream cheese wontons were nice and crispy. I had the pineapple and bacon fried rice and it was everything that I had hoped it would be! Nicely cooked big cuts of bacon. Pineapple wasn't over cooked. After smelling nothing but fish for a week or so ever excursion on our cruise, I was delighted to find a Thai restaurant. My husband and I stayed at the Van Gilder so Woody's was a nice walk from the hotel. We arrived about 7 pm and the place was packed. It was about a 1 hour wait but we decided to sit at the small bar and order a drink while waiting. This drink turned into ordering at the bar as it would be quicker we thought. They were able to make 2 vegan main dishes for me and my husband, along with the spring rolls. It did not take long to get the food and the portions were huge. And absolutely delicious. Seward, Alaska isn't the first place that comes to mind even u think of authentic, high quality Thai food in the United States. But Woody's Thai Kitchen is simply outstanding. Wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that I haven't tasted such Thai food in years, if ever. Portion sizes are generous and veggies / tofu are plentiful in the dishes, unlike many places that tend to skimp on these and load up on rice or noodles . The flavors and spices are just right and our group had a variety of preferences. If you are in Seward, this unobtrusive place, located away from other restaurants on 4th street, is an absolute MUST go. read more

I was in Seward for a few months this past winter and this was by far my favorite restaurant. A great break from burgers, fish and chips, and pizza.(pretty much all you can find in town) The staff is very friendly, hard working, and deliver some really great food with huge portions. I ended up ordering the same items almost every time...it was that good. Summer rolls, Pad Thai, Curries, all so good. We have been eating out very little since Covid 19. Came to Seward for our 20th anniversary knowing we would need to get a couple of meals from restaurants in town. I was so happy to find that Woody's staff were all masked and other safety measures were in place and the best part is the food was delicious. We tried a few dishes during our visit here starting with fresh spring rolls with peanut sauce, holy basil rice, vegetable pineapple rice, Penang curry, green curry and drunken noodles. My favorites were the holy basil rice and green curry. Overall the food was very tasty and the service was excellent. Portion sizes are huge. Ok. I love how they give you gigantic portions but theres no point if the food is terrible. I have done literal calculations, and 70% of the time i go i get sick after. The food is ethier REALLY spicy or REALLY tame. You never know what you are going to get. I once found three hairs in my rice. The seating and chairs are terrible. The bathrooms are sketch. I had a really good friend who used to live on that property and let me tell you. He took better care of it. And he was 4. FOUR i tell you. read more

Great food! Take the time to walk 8 blocks (from 360 Harbor Hotel) to eat dinner here. First--I always order won tons if available. Some people look for cheese enchiladas, or bagels, or some other fav food to determine if they like the place. Won tons are my thing. THESE WERE THE BEST EVER. They were light (unusual), not oily (also unusual), and didn't pretend to have crab. Just light cream cheese. I think the order had ten. I could have eaten them all. We arrived about 6:30 Friday night in season. We sat at bar and had a table prior to finishing our drinks. Our entrees were great and large (as everyone else has mentioned). Hubs had rice dish with ginger and garlic. It was such a great antidote to my spicy dish (which I loved) of a curry with peanut sauce. It was delicious. Wish we'd had more people there to try more dishes, including the soups. But if we ever come back, we'll try them.... read more

Our favorite restaurant in Seward. This place is awesome! We went here twice during our four night visit in Seward and loved it each time. The service isn't the best -- expect to end up waiting a bit between ordering and sitting down -- however the waitresses were both very nice. We ordered the same thing each night -- Curry Chicken Soup and Vege Pad Thai. My fiance isn't a fan of tofu and they put extra veggies on the Pad Thai. The first night it consisted of mainly mushrooms, which wasn't the best but the second time it was a better mix of vegetables. My soups broth was absolutely phenomenal. Sadly the thai infused creme brule was out each time we went, which was a bummer. Overall, it was a solid meal. Not the best Thai in the world but given you are in Seward Alaska it makes it taste even better. read more
