Food: We decided on this place going off of a local's favorite recommendations. This seafood restaurant got everything we ordered right. Superb flavor, great taste, very good presentation and generous portions! Crab cakes, ultimate seafood linguini and halibat andaman were just chef's kiss!! :) Service: Wonderful service by Linda. She took such good care of one of us special request of shellfish allergies by suggesting the right dishes for them. Warm smile and checking in on us from time to time says a lot about how much she loves doing what she does. Thank you so much Linda! :) Ambience: [[HIGHLIGHT]]The waterfront view and the warm cozy ambiance was a lovely way to enjoy our food while enjoying the snow peaked mountain views. The booths are comfortable for family sizes. Loved it![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Reservations: We had a 45 min wait but we could give our names and do a walk around downtown and come back right on time when we got clear communications of our place in the line and the time we need to be seated in. It was well organized. Parking: Street parking, a little tight but not a problem.

This was probably my favorite meal in Seward. We started with crab cakes which were amazing, I like when there's chunks of veggies in it and it was fried perfectly. The halibut andaman was so good, the crust with macadamias was still crunchy and the curry sauce it's served in was nice to warm us up after a chilly day. The service was great, we basically got what the waiter recommended. My friend got the seafood pasta which she also enjoyed. Definitely recommend this to everyone going to Seward! Just a heads up, there's a wait esp if there are cruise ships in the port, so plan accordingly! [[HIGHLIGHT]]But there are also a lot of shops to walk around and kill time, not to mention the views are incredible to just soak up.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

What an adorable waterfront restaurant! We had seafood chowder, fresh oysters and miso cod dish. Everything was amazing! I have to say portions are not very large but we were still very satisfied in the end.

Recommend here for lunch, so we stopped by after one of our tours. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Located right on the water, it's a beautiful place to have a meal - large windows allow you to enjoy the view.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Crab cakes were tasted fresh and flavorful, decent-sized. Good drink selection. Enjoyed my French 75. Our waiter was friendly and efficient. Food was definitely pricey, probably because they're a cruise ship stop. So keep that in mind. Overall, it was a good dining experience. As long as you're prepared for the higher price, it's a good stop.

This place is GREAT. After a long day on the water, we stopped in for some clams and fish and chips. They also made us a tasty Paloma. It seems unassuming from the outside but GO IN! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Chefs kiss is the lovely view of the bay.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Wow !! A great meal on the waterfront in Seward .The employees were awesome. Friendly ,efficient and accommodating...We loved talking with them about their lives in Alaska . [[HIGHLIGHT]]Definitely dinner with a view on the marina looking out at the ocean and mountains.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]So glad we choose Rays for our dinner of halibut and king crab legs. Delicious

The food is amazing, the fish is fresh. Came back to back days, the black cod was amazing, savory and had an asian kind of sauce. The crab was also amazing, so fresh, broke apart in one piece every time. The severs are also great people, really friendly, ask for Mike. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The art work is pretty, and the stuffed fish on the wall is awesome![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

The seafood soup was delicious, the bartender was nice and efficient. The place is pricy because the cruise ship people come here. But we would go again

My wife and I both love Halibut and were looking to try some fresh caught, while our cruise ship was docked in Seward. We strolled up town a couple of blocks from the Alaskan Sea-life Center and saw that Gold Rush Bistro had some on their lunch menu and decided to stop in. Surprisingly there was no wait at 12:30 (lunch time) their smiling staff were happy to see us. We were greeted, seated and able to order very quickly. That being said, the place started to fill up pretty fast. As we waited, the lady that was sitting next to us when we sat down, had a god awful amount of perfume on, after a few minutes of choking, we politely as to be moved to another table and were happily accommodated, no hassle at all. I've had Halibut many times in the past, but none have been as delicious as the Garlic Halibut that they serve here. One word, OUTSTANDING!!! The decor inside was beautiful, with a homey wood vibe (see pics). Looking out the front window there was an amazing view of some of the surrounding Mountains. If you find yourself in Seward and are a little tired of the food on your cruise or just happen to be in town for another reason, I would highly recommend Gold Rush Bistro.

The servers were really nice and excellent at their jobs! But the best part was the food wow! The seafood chowder was amazing had big chunks of sockeye salmon. The gulf captains platter was very delicious soo fresh had broiled salmon which was juicy and very delicious, Halibut chunks that were fried like fish and chips were cooked crispy and the fish was still juicy. And fried prawns that were crispy and juicy inside bery tasty it came with 2 home made sauces a cocktail sauce that tastes like fresh horseradish was used in it and a standard tarter sauce. It came with two sides we tried baked potato loaded with cheese and bacon and rice with butter both were cooked fo perfection. The cornbread was ok compared to rest of food. Last but not least was this massive chocolate cake it was amazing wish it came with milk, but was so big we took home half! If I'm back in Seward i will definitely come back!

Today I remembered to do all the things including take pictures of my food. I walked in and was seated immediately, I chose to sit at the bar because it's just easier and the chairs all have better cushion. After seeing another patron eating a burger i decided to order one too! Great choice. I had the jalapeño burger with bacon jam and man was it delicious. The burger was a perfect medium well, the brioche bun was perfectly toasted, the white cheddar cheese was the perfect complement to the slightly sweet bacon jam, the bacon was crispy, Smokey and not greasy. The only complaint was the slice of tomato that is out of season and tasteless. I mean it is Alaska after all. My seafood chowder which I paid an additional $4.00 for a cup was okay but whatever, the burger made up for it. All in all it was a great experience and delicious meal. Because it was the middle of the afternoon on a weekday, the place wasn't as packed and noisy as it can be sometimes. The ambiance was super relaxed today so I sat and ate inside. The bartenders were really friendly, and the food came out quickly and smoothly. The interior is also super cute, kind of an old-school lounge vibe with lots of velvet. There's a neon sign that says "city where the fun shines," which adds to the fun atmosphere. Such a great dinner spot in Seward.
