Lush green gardens, and a nice inside with exposed beams and classic wood flooring make for a simple and rustic venue. There's a porch area complete with bench seating and ceiling fans with lighting that are great for a summer or spring day that fades into a lovely sunset for an evening of fun. Ample street parking is available for guests. My only gripe would be the occasional roar of traffic or passing semi trucks on the nearby interstate during an intimate outdoor ceremony. However, its not enough to dock this place a full star. Although I didn't get to see it I do know that there is an upstairs room available as well. Great venue all around.

Outside patio space was small but cute, but also concrete - just something to be mindful of if you have a kid who goes headfirst into everything like mine. The entrance is adorable but the play space isn't closed off from the lobby. They have a little rounded mini doorframe for littles and my kid thought it was hilarious to go in and out. The place isn't big enough that they are going to get very far, but I was surprised it wasn't gated. More expensive than play cafes I've been to in other cities, but still worth a stop if you're in town with littles.

We hadn't made a reservation but they take walk ins if there's capacity. It's pay by 1 or 2 hours per child. Kids need to have grippy socks or there are some for purchase there for $2. They also serve coffee which is great. While the play area was small, my 4 year old niece had a great time running around, playing with the toys, and going down the slide a million times. It seems like the only indoor play area in this part of town. A great place to go when it gets hot outside. Looks like they have events for kids as well.

The bartender provided by the location was very professional and was very helpful. I would absolutely use this location for any event. In the early 1900s, this is where the printing and publishing industry for Nashville was located. Since then, it's been reinvented as a destination spot (as mentioned above). Great nightlife area.

We were fortunate enough to have several performers for this event and the quality acoustics combined with the spacious area to dance, which was mostly line dancing for this crowd, was a nice feature. I am so used to being overcrowded in places like this, but I was actually able to get a line dance or two in without stepping on too many feet. Bartender service was prompt and friendly, but the number of security and bouncers at the front tells me that this place must get rowdy from time to time. That being said, this would definitely be a spot. I would check out in the future.

I *am* surprised at all the other raving reviews below…read more I was confused and put off from the minute I walked through the door until the time I left. I can only imagine that The Gulch has sticking power. I don't hang out there often but I must be an outlier. Earlier that evening, I was at another rooftop bar that had room to breathe. Proof was standing room only. I didn't understand. The music was loud (and fairly obnoxious). I was hard to turn around. Seating (or, standing to be fair) was hard to come by. And the people just kept coming. From the rude bouncer/doorman to the ruder server, I was utterly flummoxed by what I was experiencing and the fact that so many people seemed to be into it. The crowd vibe was off as well. I was bumped into three times. Propositioned once. Cackled at a handful of times. As soon as I ordered my drink I was told to pay immediately (before I received the drink). Granted, there was no way I was opening a tab but the chain of events was a first (in my long, storied history of drinking at bars/clubs). By the time a drunk sad girl™ asked to share my high boy I was ready to go. Forever. View was decent. There are better in town. Heck, there are better in The Gulch.

Cory was my bartender and I had him make me custom drinks all night. I had a gin drink with jalapeño. Though I'm over the jalapeño trend, he made it with subtle, which was much appreciated. He also made me a couple buffalo trace drinks, just the right amount of sweet and bitter. And I finished with another easy to down gin concoction. The views (for Nashville) are great. Panoramic and you can see the bat tower and all the lights. Lots of different types of seating, including outdoor chairs and couches, high tops, and bar seats. The fewer shots you take, the more points you get - BUT, you can get points for hitting certain marks (like connecting four in the Connect Four game, or answering the Trivial Pursuit question correctly, etc). Each hole is creative and is more than just a putt. There are some downsides... to start, you have to park somewhere. It can be tough to find street parking, so you end up $20-some in the hole parking in a ramp. Downtowns...amiright? It was pretty busy when we were there - all the courses were packed. The first few holes were pretty slow, but things picked up a bit. I heard there was bar service out on the courses, but I didn't see any (though there were empty glasses and bottles on all the pub tables). With all that, the golfing was incredible and I would totally do it again. We only hit 9 holes (on a schedule - all we could do), but I'd be totally down to do their "all you can play" deal and make it a day.
