Ok this is for food only - not the beers. The food was terrible, yet they market their menu as an upscale pub food kind of dining. We each got burgers, and 2 appetizers, the pretzel and the kettle chips with blue cheese and balsamic reduction. The balsamic reduction was not a reduction - it was practically straight balsamic vinegar that pooled on the bottom and soaked the chips. Couldn't eat them. The mustard with the pretzel was great though. The burgers were a mess, and were not even patties - just chunks of ground beef held together with cheese. And it didn't taste like a burger. It was simply awful. We each took a bite then walked out. Fortunately you pay and order at the bar before you even sat down so we could just get out of there. The hose made kettle chips they advertise with Wop's seasoning - we literally saw the cook open a large bag of store bought chips and sprinkle pepper on them. We went somewhere else to eat after this. We're really own upset that they marketed their food as something it was clearly not. If you're all about the beers this place would probably be good. Just don't order food. Except the pretzel. That was decent. read more

Fun place to enjoy time with friends and family. We really enjoy the outside patio. Its picnic style tables can easily seat larger parties. An area that could be improved on is wine glasses and pours vs price. Surrounding restaurants/bars offer much nicer wine glasses and better pours for the amount charged. The food here though is pretty good, especially the flat breads. Wings are good but nothing special. Overall the food we had was very good and the bartenders were both great. We went two days in a row. The restrooms could use sprucing up. It's the great service we came back for but much better happy hour pricing just around the corner. Cool little brewery right in old town Sanford. Came in for a beer and left buying 3 crowlers! The owner is an Italian and had a nicely decorated place the bartender was Britney. She told us a lot of the history there. The pictures in the adjacent room were all painted by the owners wife. In addition, she said the bar is ranked number 10 in central Florida as being haunted! I tried a Marco Loppolo IPA and my wife Woptoberfest. Both were great beers! This place was the first brewery in Sanford too. If you order it and don't instantly feel like you need a gallon of milk and a spiritual reset, did you even eat Nashville Hot? Now, shoutout time: Lewis and Taylor -- the backbone of the whole operation. These two run Thursdays like it's wing church. It's the oldest beer brewery in historic Sanford. The place has a lot of history and they say it's haunted by several people including a boy. Makes me want to look it up. Before it was a brothel, then a fish market (go figure) and finally an Italian brewery. Their beer menu was interesting. I got a woptoberfest and my husband had a Marco lopolo which is an IPA. Interesting clientele at 1230; one guy I wondered if he had earbuds in or was he just plain crazy since he had quite a conversation going on. This was our second brewery stop for the day and I always say don't judge a book by its cover. When we arrived and came in, I would have never thought much of this place but it was the best experience in a brewery that I've had in quite some time. It starts with the bartender Luis (hope I got his name right) he was so down to earth and reminded me of a former co-worker of my Pablo from Argentina. Soft spoken and knew about his different beers available. He helped provide options that is available, I sampled some different beers but the Scotch Ale is typically not my favorite but let me tell you this one was hands down the best one that I've ever tasted. I had two of them, damn it was good. I told Luis and he said that means a lot. The brewery's atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it an ideal spot for beer enthusiasts and casual visitors alike. The rustic yet modern decor, combined with ample seating options, creates a relaxed environment perfect for enjoying good company and great beer. The outdoor seating area adds a nice touch, providing a refreshing setting to savor your favorite brews. The staff at Wop Hops deserves a special mention for their exceptional service. Once again Luis is the best and deserves a raise for his efforts to treat everyone equal and provide exceptional service. Wonderful, wonderful brewery! Wop saw us outside looking for seating and offered us to go inside with the baby instead where it was cooler. Very friendly and nice guy!!! Bridgette was awesome and let us try a couple beers before selecting one. I loved the marshmallow banana one, omg yummmmmy! They have a lot of beers named after staff and locals, which I think is sooooo cool! Looks like they truly value their customers and that everyone comes back for more. I needed to heat up a bottle and she went to the back and figured out how to get me hot water for my daughter! Who does that at a brewery! Just the sweetest girl ever! We cannot wait to go back to try more beers. She said that they will be making some more cool beer flavors in July and she is getting her own as well! Thank you for a wonderful experience! People say this place is great. I don't get it! We waited 90 MINUTES for 3 burgers (2 kids and 1 adult)! I don't know if they forgot our order or what! But everybody around us that sat after us were getting their food first. When a 5 year old tells you "hey, that's not fair, we were here first" ummm yeah they gotta do something about it. The food was good but not worth the wait and service! We ordered inside and paid then sat outside and waited for our food. The lady told me the kids meals come with chips and asked if the kids wanted fries instead and I said yeah that'll be great. I didn't know there was a $4 up-charge for fries on a $8 kids meal!! And it wasn't told to me until I noticed it on the receipt! Unbelievable! They have beer. But other places have that too. And they sell food that comes out faster. I've been here twice and they are 0 for 2 in my book. I'd say go somewhere else! read more

Favorite brewery in Sanford!! I love their creative and tasty brews. The staff are on their game and treat you like old friends when you're in there. On our last visit we went with fellow Yelper buds Scott and Nancy W. for a concert and dinner. First time dining there and it was awesome! I ordered the Mama Lina's artichoke fritters and OMG!! So good. They offer a really great selection of food to pair with their beers. When you first walk in, it seems a little small at first but there is a large dining area to the left as you walk in, and a huge outdoor patio. They have full pours, half pours, and will happily let you sample if you want to see what you want before you splurge on a bigger pour. The staff was simply awesome. Second time visiting, and it was during Porchfest. Service was just okay. No military discount, despite all the military support they seem to have. Got the Fruit Cake beer to match with Dees Bros and I do not recommend :/ but I do like the concept of mixing the two beers from two breweries together! Once I mixed this beer into the one from DEES Bros, it was much better! In my previous visit, the beer was good! They have a huge variety, with all sorts of styles and flavors! Wop's Hops Brewing Company is Sanford's first brewery that opened in 2014 in the historic district of the City of Sanford and part of the Central Florida Ale Trail. Street parking only. They have a tasting room, bar and lots of outside seating in their dog friendly beer garden. Not only do they serve bear, but they are also a family friendly restaurant. We only went there to drink, so I can't review the food. The staff and patrons were very social, and the decor could best be described as eclectic. The beer was very adventurous with some interesting/unique flavors. We are more traditionalist so it's difficult when breweries do a lot of experimenting with flavors, like key lime. Their more traditional beers were surprisingly good, but because we don't care for the experimental flavors it wouldn't be fair for me to rate those beers. Definitely worth checking read more

My second visit to Wop's Hops Brewing Company.  This time I had appetizers and they were good.  The bacon and blue chips were absolutely delicious.  So were the mozzarella squares.  The BEER: Bychee Lychee... Belgian blonde ale 6.1% ABV ... didn't get the Belgian or the lychee, far from my favorite Circus Peanut Hefeweizen 4.1% ABV... This is the best beer of the bunch.  FIRE!!! Ceres... Cream Ale 5.5% ABV... the honeydew melon really comes through in this cream ale.  I loved it. Bokey... Rauchbier 6.1% ABV... this is one of my favorite beer types.  It is smokey and delicious and pretty rare to find in states.  D-lish-us Still by far my favorite brewery in Sanford Florida. Sanford in general is a great haven for craft beer and Wop's Hops is at the top of the list. read more

I loved the atmosphere and the people are so friendly and welcoming :) we sat indoors as well I only ordered the fish and chips from the Peruvian restaurant next door. Wop's Hop's is my favorite brewery in Downtown Sanford. I have been a patron of the brewery since inception. The owners/brewers Greg and Peter are awesome people who really care about their business and customers. It has been an honor to watch the brewery grow and become what it is today. Wop's Hop's is always contributing to many local benefits serving a cause and can be found in a multitude of craft beef festivals throughout Florida. Of course, the place we like to see them most is in downtown Sanford hanging out with the locals and supporting the festivities here. Damn we are lucky! One of my favorite things about Wop's Hop's is that they are pet friendly and encourage you to bring your best pal by for a treat while you indulge in one of their 17 brewed in house ales on tap. My "go-to" beers: The majority of the Tap's cost $6.42 each. * Girl from IPA Nepa * Venetian Double IPA * ESB * Hail Caesar blond ale * BOKEY lager * Ode to Joy Porter * Honey Oatmeal Stout. When the hunger pains kick in, the kitchen staff will be prepared to tantalize your taste buds with some banging food. Over the years the menu has changed but the food is awesome. My usual pick is the Flat breads, which range anywhere from $10-$12 additional toppings are $.99 each. I have also tried their pastas and salads in the past which were always delicious. I need to try out one of their burgers since I've heard good feedback from other patrons during previous visits. I love that there is a Doggie section on their main menu. Items like Boneless Chicken $4.99, Mutt-balls $5.49 and Bowser Beer $5 are a great way to entice the animal lover crowd in from out of town. Great thinking guys! Wop's Hop's also brings in some really great bands during Sanford block parties and weekend events. The wife and I love to stop in for a drink and to show appreciation for everything Wop's Hop's does for the community. At the close of the most recent Sanford Porch Fest (2-22-2020), Greg and Peter showcased one of my favorite bands "SIRSY" in the dining section of the Brewery. We have been following the American rock Duo Melanie Krahmer and Rich Libutti of SIRSY ever since we were introduced to them by Greg and Peter several years ago. SIRSY hails from Upstate New York (my neck of the woods) and grace us with a live performance at Wop's Hop's twice a year. Keep an eye out for their return around October 2020! We are thankful for everything Wop's Hop's has done to support the community and look forward to see how their business grows in the future. What's Hobbs is also dog friendly on. there outside patio only. We came here to see ab and the other night and it was packed. Beer prices are reasonable between $6 and $8 for the IPA. Wops Hops is located in beautiful downtown Sanford. There is plenty of street parking but get here early as the bar inside can fill up quickly. read more

I can't say enough positive things about Wop's Hops. I'm not a beer person at all, but I drive 30 minutes just to grab a drink here at the end of a busy week. They are always creating new specials, and I love using their Groupon ($25 w/out an extra coupon) for a pint glass, flight of four samples, and wop-sicle! It's more than worth it! The staff are always willing to show you how the drinks are made or talk about the location's backstory. The bartenders are always the greatest too! For starters, I do like the word play on the name. It makes me feel special in a very wonderful way that makes me not think of laying in a bed of hay. But I digress. Wop's Hop's is a cool brewery located in an old fish market building. Chilling here with a pint on a Sunday afternoon is pretty class. There's a laid back feel about this spot in historical Sanford that is inviting if you're looking for a bar/taproom that offers solid beers without a lot of fuss or commotion. Being that it was our last day in the area before we made our way back to South Florida, we wanted to check out the breweries in the Sanford area. This was one of three we visited that is worth a second visit. The taproom consists of the bar area in one room and seating area in the other. We grabbed a table by one of the front windows, as we went back to the bar counter to give our drink order. For my money, I ordered the German Pils, which was quite good and not too heavy -- especially, after eating brunch down the street, I needed something light. Parking is easily available on the street or within one of the nearby lots. The location, being in the historical district of Sanford is prime, next to other bars, speakeasies, restaurants, and other breweries. If you're looking to do a night or afternoon of hanging out, this would be where to do it, and Wop's Hop's is a well-recommended spot to include in your plans. read more

Grey little brewery in DT Sanford! Stopped by and it was a little slow. The owner was there and gave me a quick tour. Lots of brews on tap and they sell growlers to go! Sanford frequently has parades and food truck events. You can grab a beer here and sit outside on the street and get a full view of everything. There's a few restaurants nearby if you get real hungry but they have some snacks. Make it part of your Sanford brewery tour! read more

So we walked by Wops hops and saw outside seating. We wanted to drink as well so we were like hey let's get a drink and eat our dinner out here. I ordered my favorite dessert wine. The Sangue di guida. I don't find a lot of places having this available to order. So it was a plus for me. My boyfriend ordered the tuco style freak out mead. They offer food here as well. We enjoyed our beverages in the outside area in front of the brewery along with our dinner. And they were totally cool about it. We heard live music from 2 different spots but it was all good. I was in the downtown Sanford area and decided I really wanted a beer. Came into this place and discovered a new favorite! They have a Paradiso Coconut Ale that will rock your god damn socks off. Love the atmosphere and the waitress we had was such a cool chick. I cant wait to go back. They had super cheap to go options, which I of course took advantage of. This brewery has become my favorite in Sanford. I had never came here for the food until yesterday. We came in the first weekend after they were aloud to open after the Covid 19 lock down. They took are temps as we came in, they had menus placed so you didn't have to touch and the staff had masks and gloves. They had seating inside and out that met the social distancing requirements. My wife and I drank the New England style IPA. It was really tasty. For food we split the giant meatball on a stick and artichoke cakes. The meatball had great flavor and had a nice sauce. The artichoke was fried and had the same sauce to dip. We also split a meatball flat bread, man this was good. Nice crisp crust, the same yummy sauce,each slice has half a meatball and then melted motz. The staff was super friendly and nice. When they brought me the check they sprayed the pen with hand sanitizer and each table a giant bottle that was strong enough to kill any virus. read more

I love the huge biergarten in the back. It is so nice and shady, so quiet and relaxing, perfect for families to mingle and grab a beer or two. Inside, not the same deal. My impression, and I am not writing a dissertation on style and efficiency, but, I am just saying... and, anyway, I didn't come here to look at the decor, but to drink some beers. I ordered a flight, picked the most forward-thinking tasting offerings (in theory), and tasted my beers. It was a quiet Saturday afternoon, and they were preparing outside for a Mardi Gras parade. It was showtime and I didn't even know about it, I had just landed in the middle of the French Quarter but hadn't left Sanford. Beautiful mermaids walked past the glass windows.
