This brewery is definitely a smaller, hole-in-wall type brewery, but surprisingly enough it had a decent selection and number of beers. And even though the beers weren't mind-blowing, I thought they were still delicious and the customer service was top-notch. Our bartender was super friendly and let us try a couple of different beers before deciding. She even went as far as to recommend, let us sample four or five before deciding, and then just chat with us for a bit. I really enjoyed my sample the chocolate vanilla cinnamon stout. So smooth and creamy, but not something I could drink a whole lot of so I went with a full pour of the Sunshine Greetings, their wheat tangerine hibiscus beer. So refreshing and full of flavor. I usually go on Thursdays for Bingo and Disc golf! It's such an awesome place and the people are all great! I love that they have events and the beers are great too. I've tried their Dancing Pierre, their Under Duck and their Boston Cream Donut Ale. Aside from having some interesting beer, they also have some delicious food trucks stop outside their place. I recently attended a virtual beer tasting event through Yelp and fell in love with one of the beers from Central 28 that I had to go on a venture out to find more. My husband and I made a trip of it (along with my boys) and drove out to what felt like the middle of nowhere to see this cute little brewery. I love the decor in this place and the atomosphere is lovely. It is a pet friendly place as well as kid friendly. I saw they had a space out in the back you can lounge (and perhaps play games?) in but it was being used for a private event. So .. what is this magical beer that I sought out??? Sunshine Greetings, of course. My plan was to buy some 6 packs to keep at home and give as gifts to friends. To my dismay they were out :( Our only option was to buy a growler and we ended up doing it because "well... we drove out all this way..." I wish I had taken the time to call and ask and so that's my fault I guess. I believe it's their most popular beer? I ended up sampling a few beers while I was there and they were just fine... but please don't scorn me for the words I am about to say: I am not a craft beer lover. **gasp** It's true. Which is why I was so shocked to love Sunshine Greetings. And it just wasn't as satisfying out of the growler for me... there was just something about it being canned that did it for me. So. Great space tucked away through a residential area, in your typical warehouse setting. Central 28 has been on my list of brewery visits but I've never gotten around to venturing out to that neighborhood. The space when you first walk in has many tables, along with a small bar. We weren't sure what to order but they were more than happy to offer up as many samples as you'd like to try. It's pet friendly, we brought our pup and it wad nice to not worry if we couldn't bring him. They gave us a water bowl for him too. There's more seating further into the brewery where you can view all the cased beer and the tanks. Beers are priced pretty well, most of the full pours are $6. I ended up going with the Tail Wagger Wit a Belgian style witbier a citrus pear orange peel with lemon notes. Staff was really friendly and it was nice they offered as many samples as you'd like before ordering. I just wish they had a bigger selection on their beers. The bar had some complimentary candy, how sweet, a nice little snack! There's a food truck outside in the front if you're hungry but I'd assume it wouldn't always be the same. You also have a lot of people standing and hovering over the bar area due to the small space and only 2 bartenders working. They are very nice ladies and always friendly! Best little hidden gem in Debary. I was introduced to this place from a Tinder date (yes, a Tinder date) about 5 years ago. I would never have found it because it's in the industrial section of Debary off Shell Road. Bartenders are always nice. Beer is great. They have their classics (which are awesome) , but I only gave a four star instead of five because I'd like to see something new more often and a wider selection. I love going to a brewery and seeing what's new on the menu!. I'm looking for a coffee style beer that's a sour (Only one other place has this that I know of and I have to go to Sanford to get it). Would be great if Central 28 had this going on and a little more variety. The food trucks that are there are amazing, as well. Pleasant surprise. I came to this place almost accidentally, as they offered a discount for the Mermaid Run runners. The place is OK, in a warehouse district, nothing more or less you would expect from a brewery. The beer, however, is surprisingly good. I knew it was good before tasting it, just by seeing the foam while the lady was pouring it. By the way, one thing that I find people do better overseas is pouring beer, often ignoring the importance of a nice foam collar, but this lady here did an excellent job, and if course you have to have good beer to make it work. I ordered a milk stout and it was great. Full of flavor and, which is more important, without the rough bitter aftertaste that most breweries believe stouts are about. The prices are very fair, $6-$8, worth the quality. No food, but there was a taco food truck outside. The only reason I'm not giving it a 5-star review is the crowd. Unfortunately there was a loud, clearly over-served group that made me want to finish the nice bee quicker. But it's understandable, given the location. Central 28 is quite possibly my favorite local brewery! Located in a warehouse district in DeBary (a quick jaunt from Sanford on the opposite side of I-4), Central 28 is serving up delicious brews in a warm, friendly environment. I first tried their beer a year ago when it was on draft at the restaurant I worked at. I was all about it, and then managed to find their Trekker Bier at Pisces Rising in Mount Dora, as well as a sample in Whole Foods one weekend. Since then I've been regularly buying their cans and made the journey to visit one Friday in December. What I love about their beers is the complexity and focus present in them. The brewer who started Central 28 with his family has many years of experience, including working as an assistant brewer at Samuel Adams (I think, I will double check when I return). His experience shows through with the quality of the beer, and the employees I met who were there were so kind and inviting. The Trekker (a farmhouse ale) has just the right amount of funk but is also bitter and smooth. No, I'm not a cicerone, but I like to think I know good beer when I taste it. The Dancing Pierre is a Belgian-style Pale ale (spicy, bitter, and malty), which is my second favorite. Also on draft that night was the Up River (American Pale Ale), Miss Mary Brown (Oatmeal Brown Ale), Show Pigeon (IPA), and El Bulli (Milk Stout). The space is dog and kid-friendly, and there are board games and frisbee golf to entertain yourself with. Not sure if the frisbee golf is all the time, but I saw all the equipment in the brewery. Definitely worth the trip to DeBary! If you want to make a day of it, head across 17-92 to visit Gemini Springs or travel slightly south to spend some hours in downtown Sanford. read more

I'll start by stating I'm not what one might call a "beer snob" so I'm not picky or too knowledgeable in beer, but I can appreciate a super clean and comfy brewery when I visit one. This is a warehouse district which seems to be a common theme amongst breweries now. It makes you feel like you stumbled upon a secret place. The front door is easy to spot and really clean outside. Which sounds odd but I've come across some dirty feeling bars ! This place very well kept up. There is art all over the walls (for sale I believe), which is beautiful, along with their merch. The entire brewery and bar area is painted in this calm blue color. Love it! My second thought was how homey this place felt. The bar area is a small area but the vibe I got felt like everyone there was best friends. My friend and I sat down and we're spoken to by the bartender right away even though it was rather busy- on a Wednesday! She actually handed us a paper which had more info on the beers!!!! I don't think I've ever gotten anything like that before. Usually you have to just randomly pick from a list of goofy names on a board. I REALLY appreciated this, especially because I'm not too familiar with all of the types of beers. I ordered a Dancing Pierre (Belgian wheat) and my friend ordered a blood orange IPA (which also had a cute name but I can't recall it at the moment). I'm not a huge fan of IPAs but this one wasn't bitter and not dark tasting. The bartender was quick and kind!! she offered a test of any of the beers. I can't stress this homey feeling enough. The bar area is is actually all windows so you can see the gigantic warehouse. It's BEAUTIFUL. Truly. SO clean and organized. I noticed some other customers ordering smalls jugs of beer and also big sets of cans. All fresh from a tap in the brewing area. This just seems like an incredible concept to get a bunch of cans from this local brewery. Perfect for a party, while supporting a local business. They even helped bring the cans out to this customers car! True respect for this business. Can't wait to continue supporting them! !! Home breweries like these tend to have high alcohol percentages so be careful my wheat was a 6%. **I believe their hours are 4-9pm which is different than here on Yelp. I knew that visiting this brewery was going to take a while. I don't drive out to the Debary area too often, but since a buddy of mine and I are trying to complete the Ale Trail, we knew that this day would come. This brewery is tucked away in a residential area, and doesn't look like a brewery at all until you see the sign. This is a small brewery as well. I can see this place getting packed on certain nights. There is high top seating, and bar seating with one television. You can see the cans and brewing going on through the glass in the warehouse behind it. The service is very friendly and they even have a list of "Owe you a free beer" I added my name to the list since it was my birthday and I didn't tell them before ordering my first one, it would've been free. So I have a reason to come back. The beer was pretty good. There is also a food truck outside, and after you make your order, he'll bring it to you inside. Wow, this place is awesome. We stumbled on this small craft brewery last night because we were craving lobster rolls and the Cousins Maine Lobster truck was parked here for the night, and boy are we glad that it was! When we realized that it was a brewery that the truck was parked outside of, we decided to go in and check it out. They have a chalk board with what was on tap, I got their Brown Ale and my wife got their Lager. I adore brown ale, I've tried many and I'll never get sick of it. But this brown ale was like gold. The best I have ever had without a doubt. The lager was a slam dunk as well. I was so impressed by the two beers that I decided to get a flight and try them all. Each one was delicious.
