I really like this little airport for a lot of reasons. I first used it many years ago (in the 90s) when I had an important customer in Westborough, MA that I visited a few times. It was so much more hassle-free than Logan at that time. Even though Logan has improved a bit as far as terminating and originating accessibility, ORH is still my port of choice if I am working west of Boston. This small 6-gate airport has sometimes struggled to maintain regular passenger service. But Delta (NY LGA), American (PHL) and JetBlue (3 FL destinations) currently operate out of here, and hopefully it continues to maintain at least minimum viability. The airport served just shy of 230K passengers in 2024. Another reason I like this airport beyond the huge advantage of hassle-free travel is the fact that it is small and easily navigable. It allows easy check-in and security clearance with TSA people who are actually pleasant to interact with. The downsides to that, of course, are that there are far fewer amenities at this airport and far fewer flight options. However, the size of this airport means that I can arrive for my flight with far less time buffer compared to a large airport like BOS. In that case, the amenities become less important. There is a convenience store/food bar behind security where you can grab a coffee, soda or snack. That's all you really need at a place like this. It's also a pleasant, clean and modern facility. The facade is fairly attractive and the interior is quite nice. If I read correctly, I don't think this is the same building I used in the 90s when I first flew into this airport. But I was impressed with the facade even then given the size of the airport. With regard to logistics, I do have to connect to get to ORH. As a Delta afficianado who uses Detroit as my home airport, I always have an intermediary stop at NY LaGuardia. But given the advantages I experience on the other end, usually it's worth it. There are rental car facilities at ORH and it offers easy get-away (and return, as previously noted). However, my last trip revealed the negative aspect of this as we flew from LaGuardia all the way to the Worcester area and they would not let the plane land due to low visibility (I understand that fog is not an infrequent problem here). We turned around going back to LGA. The flight was canceled and I ended up having to re-book to Logan and driving to Worcester (fortunately late at night with no traffic...tip in case this happens to you: if I had it to do over, I would have flown to Providence instead). This was not a positive experience. But in the grand scheme of things, this is the classic case of a "first-world problem". I keep it in perspective. While overall I am a big fan of this airport with the caveats already noted, there is one infrastructure gripe that I have. Most airports, even small ones, are generally easily accessible via a major thoroughfare (a highway of some sort). This one and Lansing (Michigan) are the only two that I have used which I would classify as out-of-the-way. It seems like it requires a long drive through traffic-light controlled roads and Massachusetts traffic (some of the worst in country due to populaton density). There is a bus to the city that is at the airport hourly between 1:15 PM and 6:15 PM, but that does not make up for it. Beyond this one primary complaint, however, I view this airport as a very nice alternative to the crowded mega options. I wish it a long and happy business viability with prosperity and growth (not too much!). It serves an important purpose and I hope it continues to do so. Let's hope airlines continue to view this with general perspective and less ivory-towered, cold and calculated finance perspective that is often far too narrow. Sometimes, bean counters need to remember that Main St. can be more important than Wall St. read more

There are many significant advantages to Worcester Regional Airport (ORH), and some disadvantages. This is a very small airport, with a few flights a day serviced by Delta and Jet Blue. When I say a few, that is a somewhat generous description, as there are only 3 daily flights: * ORH to FLL * ORH to LGA * ORH to JFK And this short list highlights the significant advantages and disadvantages to this airport. Since there are so few flights, there is almost no traffic, no waiting, no runway taxi time, no local air traffic control holdups, short security lines, and you can wait by the curb in front of the terminal to pick someone up from their flight. Parking is easy and used to be free, now it's $7 a day, significantly lower than Logan (BOS) or Providence (PVD). The obvious disadvantage is the limitation in destinations, though you can connect to almost anywhere from JFK. Another disadvantage occurs if you miss your flight, or it's cancelled, because you can't get back to ORH until the next day. You can however route to Logan and get an Uber or Lyft to Worcester Airport for about $100. Last time I was in the terminal, it was clean and fairly comfortable, with plenty of space for so few passengers. If you live in the area, and have an opportunity to take advantage of ORH, you'll likely be happy with the result. read more

I can't say enough positives about this airport. I should keep to myself. I arrived with my daughter and her infant with my kitten in tow and the check in was seamless. TSA was wonderful. My daughter had tried to help place my license away and when I looked for it at gate we could not find it. I went back to check point and the TSA started the search while still efficiently getting passengers through the check point. My daughter ended up finding my license and I let them know and they were happy to help. Then the little restaurant/bar/store is just a nice little area and the lady working was so sweet. She is attentive to her customers. She knows each patron and keeps tabs to settle you certainly don't feel rushed or ignored. So though I don't want to share this gem of an airport I had to let everyone know what a breath of fresh air in this crazy world especially when traveling!!!! BRAVO read more

45 minute ride from providence straight down 146. Parking is 7$ a day and super close maybe a 3 minute walk. Checking in went super fast, then up the escalator to security again super fast. Overall it took about 20 min to park check in and go through security. Will definitely fly in and out of here in the future. read more

A quaint and mellow airport placed on a mini mountain in Worcester, Massachusetts. We decided to take a Jet Blue flight out of here because it was substantially cheaper than flying out of Logan or PVD airport. When we were dropped off, there were hardly any cars around. When we walked in, we went to the second floor to a seating area because the TSA line wasn't open yet. There were about five other people waiting and within 5 minutes, the TSA check in line was open. They checked my ID and ticket, I placed my bag on the conveyor belt; I was in the other side in two minutes. I found a seat with an outlet to charge my phone. This has got to be the easiest and breeziest check in ever. Although it's a small airport, it was convenient because it wasn't busy at all. We took the JetBlue direct flight to Fort Lauderdale. I would definitely fly out of here again if I find a great deal; we drove about an hour from Rhode Island just to save on some cash to fly out of here! read more

Nice little airport with easy access to downtown Worcester, Auburn, Marlborough and the other surrounding areas which are typically serviced by Logan Airport. The number of flights and airlines are very limited. American flies direct from Philadelphia while jetBlue flies from JFK. I believe Delta is starting flights from Detroit. That all being said, you can probably get to Worcester with 1 connection. Keep in mind this is not your typical full time airport. During times when no airlines are flying, the airport is pretty much closed. I was there 3 hours early and hoping to settle into the little snack shop/lounge, but unfortunately I had to wait on the arrival side until they opened up TSA which was 1 hr before their earliest flight. read more

The first time I went to Worcester for work, I flew into Boston and drove into the city. The next time, I did a little research into ORH and saw you can only get direct flights from three places - Orlando, JFK, and Fort Lauderdale. Ding ding ding! I booked a flight on JetBlue from FLL straight to The Woo. This is definitely one of the smallest airports I've ever been to. There are four gates, two baggage claim belts, and a one lane security checkpoint. It makes getting and out a breeze. They even still have rental cars; however, the Hertz desk closed at 4:30 pm, before my flight arrived. There is one food option before security, and one after. I didn't get anything but saw lots of people enjoying pizza, as well as some brews. Proximity to Worcester is much better than arriving to Boston, and it's a lot less stressful! I'll definitely opt to fly this way again in the future. read more

Very small regional airport about an hour from Boston. 1 airline (JetBlue), 4 gates, 2 destinations (Orlando and Fort Lauderdale). Baggage and check-in are on the same level. 1 small sundries store on that level. It was closed on Memorial Day. Security (1 line) and gates are upstairs. 1 shop with a cooler for a bar, homemade sandwiches, and frozen pizza that they heat up in a pizza oven. We decided to leave from this airport to avoid the crowds at Logan on a holiday weekend (plus we were leaving from Foxboro and the flight time was right. We arrived early and had a little time to sit in the shop and relax. The homemade sandwiches were very good. The frozen pizza was as good as frozen pizza could be. The man and women who were running the shop were very helpful. Many of our team mates were leaving g from Logan and had their flights cancelled or delayed for hours. Our flight left on time from Worcester so we made a great choice! I would highly recommend using this airport to and from Boston if you have a little extra time and a car. Also, a great airport to use if it is a busy holiday weekend or you can't get the flight you want to or from Boston. read more

I've never taken this airport, honestly I had no idea Worcester even had an airport at that! This airport only basically has flights going and coming from New York and Florida. The two options for Florida are Fort Lauderdale and Orlando. The only airline that flies out of this airport is jetblue! Since it's so small, the TSA line was also the normal security line. Passed it quick with no problems! Small little convenient store/restaurant inside. If you're around the Worcester area and are heading to New York or Florida, definitely recommend. Since the flights are normally non stop and cheaper than flying from Boston! read more

I guess it is out of the bag. Our hidden gem, the Worcester Airport. It was ceremoniously opened on May 4, 1946. In the 50's, when my husband was a child, it was common to drive the family up to the airport to watch the planes take off and land. In the 80's and 90's, major airlines flew to their hubs from Worcester. It was so wonderful not driving to Boston. Then in 1993, they built a bigger terminal and the boom was over. In 2005, the Florida bloom began with airlines coming and going erratically until JetBlue arrived in 2013. Now we are on a roll, going to Orlando, Hollywood/Fort Lauderdale, New York - JFK and Philadelphia in October. It is such a pleasure to arrive at the airport 30 minutes before your flight and to be home in 5 minutes after your trip. read more

This is such a small airport. It's relatively easy to get to and not much traffic. I find that the rental car area is subpar. There is always a concierge standing on the main floor for any questions. I believe there is only a snack shop in the airport. I have never personally flown out of this airport, but have been many times to rent cars or pick people up. read more

Three times I have tried to fly out of Worcester the first two they had to cancel the flight and there were no other options so we had to cancel trip- third time the plane is "frozen" and also might not take off. They just cannot handle this type of service of flying jet blue. read more

ORH is the easiest airport to fly out of. I showed up for my flight 45 minutes before departure, only had one person before me to check in, and was through security in less than 5 minutes. Only 2 flights a day out of here, so here aren't any other options except Orlando and Ft. Lauderdale. read more

My son said to give this place a 4. It's a small airport with a small town feel. Literally like 3 people work for each airline. Maybe 20 people total work here. Don't come early to your flight (earlier then 2 hours) the ticket desk won't even be open. They have a small little shop with pretty much anything you need by gate 1. Sodas, magazines, beer, wine, pizza, sandwiches, ect. Tsa has only one line so it may back up if there are more then one plane taking off. read more

As we've been riding around Worcester lately, my inquisitive four year old has been asking me about the signs with airplanes she keeps seeing. Being a small airport, with no traffic, we were able to get a good look around. Unfortunately, we were not able to see any take offs or landings. In spite of the fact that there is no major access road, if they get the right destinations, it should be able to support more commercial traffic. Love this airport. Convenience, security, parking and customer service. And speaking of parking and customer service... I returned from a Florida vacation and went to pay for parking. Ticket did not work. An airport rep, Gail (Gayle?) was right there to assist. $42.00 for the 7 days of parking (which you can walk to from the terminal, btw). Paid with $50.00. Grabbed my change and walked back to the table where my kids were. Realized I only had three $1.00 bills but no five. Immediately went back to check machine and then spoke to Gail who gave me a name, Anthony, and contact number. I followed up and Anthony said he had my $5.00 right there on his desk. They checked it out and turns out the $5.00 bill slot was jammed and they weren't dispensing. I received my $5 by UPS. Thank you to Gail, Anthony and ORH for the customer care! read more

It's Risky to Use Worcester Airport in Winter I used Worcester so I could go to Orlando on a direct flight, with an airport convenient to home (and inexpensive parking). What a mistake. My flight home was cancelled and rescheduled for two days later due to weather! I needed to get to work the next day, and didn't have a place to stay in Orlando or my medicines with me. Jet Blue managed to get me on a flight to Boston the same day which was great but then there's no easy or cost-effective way to get from Logan to Worcester Airport. $150 to rent a car is what it took and then because there's no garage at Worcester Airport, I had to dig my car out. Limo service wasn't available on short notice (1 day) from Bos to Worc. Never again. read more

I'm giving 2 stars because the airport is quick and comfortable. And now the bad... Flights are mainly to Florida and are often delayed sometimes for weather and sometimes for other peculiar reasons. My most recent flight to Fort Lauderdale was delayed because the flight crew from my incoming flight felt like they were unable to fly and they had to drive a new crew from Logan airport an hour away. That was a 2 and a half hour delay. If you have the choice of flying out of another airport, whether it be Bradley, Boston or Providence, I would recommend that. read more

JetBlue currently flies only two flights a day to Fort Lauderdale and Orlando from ORH. But support this airport so we can get Las Vegas and a few other destinations online.
