A quaint and mellow airport placed on a mini mountain in Worcester, Massachusetts. We decided to take a Jet Blue flight out of here because it was substantially cheaper than flying out of Logan or PVD airport. When we were dropped off, there were hardly any cars around. When we walked in, we went to the second floor to a seating area because the TSA line wasn't open yet. There were about five other people waiting and within 5 minutes, the TSA check in line was open. They checked my ID and ticket, I placed my bag on the conveyor belt; I was in the other side in two minutes. I found a seat with an outlet to charge my phone. This has got to be the easiest and breeziest check in ever. Although it's a small airport, it was convenient because it wasn't busy at all. We took the JetBlue direct flight to Fort Lauderdale. I would definitely fly out of here again if I find a great deal; we drove about an hour from Rhode Island just to save on some cash to fly out of here!

I checked out Worcester Regional as I was planning ahead for a flight with Direct Air: http://www.yelp.com/biz/myrtle-beach-direct-air-and-tours-myrtle-beach#hrid:vwVDKq1W0WfefAnyvspGXA. The airport itself is small and convenient to get to. I imagine it would be a great place to pick up a private charter. Do NOT, however, choose Direct Air (see my review linked above). You have been warned.

Drink menu. Stick to Beer. Virtually no alcohol put in drinks.

Just a warning...do not order a drink from the make shift bar. Worst $8.00 ever spent. Virtually no alcohol in my drink. So much for relaxing on the plane. Come fed, or your only option will be what seems like a digiorno pizza for $13.99 or premade sandwiches for $6.50. Other then that there are your standard sodas, juices, chips etc.

Airport was very nice atmosphere not as chaotic as Logan but then there's only a few flights that come out of here.

At it's peak, 140 trains were making there way through this station, daily. Over the years it has served a variety of railroads and switched hands multiple times. As routes were moved away from Worcester, ridership decreased and in 1972 Amtrak boarded up the building and began to use a much smaller brick building nearby as it's station. By 1992 a group of locals began efforts to rehab the old station to it's original beauty. After several years of effort and planning, during which the building was purchased by the Commonwealth of MA, the building finally began restoration and in 2000 the building reopened to railway passengers. A small part of the station is set aside for rail passengers. Here you'll find a map of commuter rails and a MBTA ticket kiosk. There is no Amtrak customer service available here. You can purchase Amtrak tickets originating at this station through their web site. There is a small waiting area, a Worcester public library book vending machine, a police substation and a QR code that will link you to a walking tour of the Blackstone canal area. There is an elevator up to the platform level and ramps down to the bus level. Three vending machines are available for snacks and beverages. Public restrooms are older but clean enough as public restrooms go. The main part of the building is a beautiful vaulted hall that can be rented out for private events. This area is closed off during event and open to the public when not in use. There are also two dining areas off this main hall and a parking garage next door. The official website has information about renting the event space. Another example of the beautiful historic architecture you will find in this historic city.

About 20 years ago they decided to remodel it and spent millions of dollars to renovate it and bring it back to its glory. Every time we would drive by I wondered what it looked like inside and think that I needed to check it out someday. So a few days ago as we drove by my husband said "do you want to stop and check out Union Station?" YES!!!! There is a parking garage directly behind it with easy access into the station. The station is HUGE (well, not as big as the NYC!) and we walked throughout checking everything out. The station was pretty quiet on a Saturday afternoon and everything was closed (restaurants, coffee shop, police station etc), there was just a handful of people either waiting on a train or bus. The architecture was absolutely beautiful as most buildings built in this era were. I have no idea how well the ticketing and schedules work, but it is definitely a beautiful building worth checking out.

At the gate, I approached one of the flight attendants and asked to put is together. Her response was that I had to pay extra for it. I was furious! She didn't even make any effort to see if my request could be accommodated. At the same time, she offered to make a change but it would cost me, basically doubling the price of the ticket. So there was actually a way to put my wife and me next to each other. If only I could pay extra. The whole episode led me to believe that the seat assignment algorithm is designed to purposefully split people apart in order to force people to pay extra, that is at the last minute at the gate. The attendant was less than useful and plain rude. She did even want to be bother with such petty demand, but of course she could have taken a lion if I was willing to pay. This is plain extortion, if you ask me. JetBlue used to have some reputation. Now I miss Spirit! JetBlue is just another crappy airline in the long list of endless corporate greed.

Back in the day, we thought JetBlue was a reasonably good airline. But in March 2019, I gave them a…read moreone-star review, as they canceled our outbound flight with short notice. I waited on their customer service line 50 minutes, but JetBlue was unable to help us get to Aruba that weekend. We took American Airlines on Monday. That was their pre-pandemic support level. Three years later, they are much worse. How bad you ask? My neighbor who flies to Florida frequently, now uses Spirit, a discount airline which also features a mediocre track record. The irony there is that JetBlue is trying to buy Spirit. Perhaps they are trying to prove that two wrongs do make a right! My current angst revolves around their refusal to credit a flight I tried to cancel online. I sent them the error messages I received, as the website wouldn't let me cancel. Their response was essentially, that's too bad, you should have called and waited the two-hour hold time to speak with someone. Nice! Sometimes I can't avoid JetBlue, as the routing dictates the choice. In a few weeks I'm taking them to the USVI. I tried to buy extra space seats (those are seats that have marginally adequate leg room). Their website didn't let the transaction process (their site has a lot of issues), I was getting another error. I used the online chat with them for over 40 minutes. At the end of the chat, they said I'd have to call customer service to fix it (a two-hour wait). Nope - not doing that. Mysteriously, the seats were applied about 5 days later (I still had a charge on my card). JetBlue does customer surveys. I don't know why. Perhaps I can help them save some time and money... Dear JetBlue Customer Service, It takes two-hours to get customer service on the phone. Your support system is so outdated, you don't provide automatic call back (hey even if it takes two-hours to speak to someone, if you offered a call back system, your customers wouldn't have to wait on the phone)! So, let's create a simple customer feedback formula: A+B=C... 2-hour Hold + No Automated Callback = TERIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! Good news, now you can stop sending out the surveys (and save some money and improve your call intake system). You don't have to thank me, but I'd certainly appreciate a credit on the delayed flight to FLL I never got to use!
