I would not recommend this gym due to their unfair billing practices and lack of accountability. I was on a month-to-month membership (no contract) and submitted my 45-day written cancellation notice in July 2025. I also stopped using the gym before my cancellation notice was even submitted. Despite this, they tried to charge me for an additional full month of dues for time I would not be using the facility. I offered to pay my past due balance in good faith, but they refused and demanded more. Their billing company, ABC Fitness Solutions, kept pointing the finger back at the gym, while the gym avoided addressing the issue altogether. I even filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau -- but WOW/ABC did not respond within 30 days, showing they are not interested in resolving disputes fairly. Consumers deserve transparency and honesty. If you're considering joining this gym, please be aware of their strict cancellation policy, vague billing terms, and unwillingness to work with members when disputes arise. I was with this gym for 13 years throughout canton, Brockton, Fall River, Taunton, Randolph, New Bedford and East Providence. While working out at east Providence for the past 7-8 months out of the 13years I have encountered several older men either recording me, following me out of the parking lot and stabbing my tires. I AM NOT the only victim of being followed out, recorded or filmed yet I AM the only one to have my membership revoked. The specific incident that occurred for my revoked membership was an older man following me from machine to machine with certain moments of his phone in his hands not facing the ground but facing outward at me. ( THERE ARE SIGNS EVERYWHERE SAYING NO PHONES ) I didn't even look or interact with this older man instead a gentleman I never met working out seen and approached the older man, as did another gentleman who noticed. They nicely asked him to see his recent camera roll and the guy would not show it. They brought him up front and told the kid working what they seen. He asked me as I walked out if I wanted a call I said no since I wasn't involved. Afterwards the two gentlemen told me he was shaking and wouldn't produce his camera roll until they walked away he went through it for a few then tried to ask the front desk worker to look. The next day the manager Marisa called me anyways. She was very rude cutting me off before I could finish saying what happened asking questions like why does this happen when she's not there and why am I there at that hour anyways, questions that did not matter with additional stress my body did not need which I told her. She then proceeded to go on about her trainer who also had an altercation with me, which is wrong on her end to bring up because he was a cheating husband who got caught and thought I snitched because Marisa likes to play friends with the clients instead of being a manager and went and told the clients what she over heard. It's all on a recorded line and she immediately said she'd be having HR call me to get rid of me instead. HR said Marisa spoke to all parties involved which is a lie and I have the proof and also spoke to all parties involved. They are also telling people I canceled my membership when I did not. Marisa has also been caught speaking about this to several clients which is very unprofessional. HR also said they'd be parting ways even though I had no interaction with this altercation because I had altercations in the past... too bad there wasn't half the altercations on file with police reports (even though the officer works out there and can also provide photos sent to him) or paperwork from the mechanics which prove my tire was stabbed by an ice pick on the inner wall with the head snapped off. This discrimination is personal since no other member has been canceled for being followed out, tire stabbed, or recorded and if I was Marisa id get a job I could handle instead of taking downers midway through her shift that turn her into a zombie that can't handle anything ! Please tell HR they have the documentation for the time I was followed and had to come back and so did he but you know he was off his meds and it won't happen again because our safety isn't shit right ? Easier to get rid of me than the "new members". And why is it that this 2hour rule applied to me but not any other member ? Or the underaged employees friends who hangout at the front desk during their shift and roll up drugs in the bathrooms and trash the bathrooms ? How about the guy who stabbed my tires did we tell HR that he didn't have an up to date picture because he was scanning in as someone else ? Did we tell HR WHYYYY we had to start making sure every member has a photo on their account now ? Did we tell HR how one of the times this has really happened or no because it will make you guys look bad. How about when Marisa caught Cindy taking $10 fees for people who had the free friend..... yea I bet it was easier to just get rid of me I know too much. The safety of your members should be a priority and so should making sure your members & staff follow the rules because singling out one is. Questionable Business practices by Workout World in the Eastside of Providence/ABC Financial Services. Out of the blue I started getting text message about "my bill" with Work Out Work, I deleted the texts and thought them to be some fishing tactics from scammers. Then I started getting calls from this number 1 833-311-0847, I answerd and the prompt said that it was from Work Out World. I never heard of them, I don't know them, and I never had anything to do with them. I hang up and looked up the company online and found that they had a club not far from where I live. So I called them and asked them why would their company call me? I was never a client of Work Out Work. The person who answerd the phone informed me that WOW bought Boston Sport Club and since I must have a membership with BSC they will continue to charge me. I patiently explained that I did not have an active membership with BCS. I did in the past but I cancelled it more than a year ago, even before Covid19 hit us. He looked me up in their computer and simply said that I show as having an active membership. I repeated again that I did NOT. I am someone who watches their expenses very closely and would not have open and pay for a membership I don't use. He explained to me again that I still have to go through a cancellation process as if I had an active membership with WOW. This is nothing but a SCAM. I looked into what happened to BCS and found out that they went bankrupt and I was not a member when that happened. Still WOW/ABC financial is trying to force down my throat that I am a member in their club. I am NOT and I am outraged to have to spend time and energy to defend myself against a greedy/nasty/scammer of a corporation. The class room is on the small side in comparison to other WOW locations which can cause crowding in full classes. Locker room could use some attention but I've never had a problem with finding one. I began being charged for a membership back in January. I never signed up with this gym. When I contacted my bank regarding this as fraud, the bank attempted a charge back for those charges. ABC WOW then replied that I had received a welcome email, and even went on to say that I provided them with additional information, all of which is a total fabrication. Turns out the membership I had with Boston Sports Club provided ABC WOW with my information, both personal and financial without my permission, and then utilized that information to charge me for a membership I did not sign up for, at a gym I have no interest in going to. They also used my personal information to leverage their untrue statements to my bank denying me a refund of those charges. This is complete fraud. I received no emails, and provided these scammers with no personal information. This company needs to be sued for damages and held accountable for these shady business practices. read more

This particular WOW branch makes being a platinum member worth the extra $10 bucks. Also, probably why I hold on to it. Having access this gym's lovely features has it's ups. It's clean and fully-functional. It's open 24hrs (a must for someone like me who works late hours). It's has a nice decent sized women's only area. I would be content just staying in this area alone. Since they have all the cardio and weight machines I would ever want/need. The sauna is pretty awesome too; a perfect end to a nice workout. And the tanning booth (although it's not my cup-a-tea) looks pretty clean and nice. Plus they have classes (which I have yet to try here). My only regret is that I don't live nearby this nicer WOW. Seriously, East Providence WOW... you definitely show em how it's done. Now help out your other WOW gyms... preferably your North Providence one. read more

BEWARE OF WORK OUT WORLD. Cancellation of this gym is near impossible. My fiancé had to go into the gym to physically request cancellation. That part we were fine with. They then gave us an email address and the signed cancellation form and told us it had to be emailed over for the cancelation to be finalized. He had made it into the location three days prior to being charged again. The email was not working. we tried numerous times. No one has time to play these games around the holidays. I had to call them and she had to email me so I could respond to that email. she said it will take 3 days for the email to process and then an additional 30 days to actually cancel the membership. So now we are being charged two additional months of membership when he physically was in there and said he didn't want to be a member. Customer service rep was kind enough but wasn't able to actually do anything to help. WORST EXPERIENCE. Ownership simply wants a cash cow, without any obvious impact on the surrounding community. Equipment here is rarely updated and its free weight area lags behind the competition. Saunas are broken more often than not as well, which is one of their large selling points. If an Edge Fitness moves into the area, this gym will need a significant revamp in order to compete. read more

I felt cheated by this gym. I was enjoying going, and even started taking the personal training sessions. I have to say my trainers (Ben and Chuck) were great, and the work out was wonderful. This review is not based on their skill. My review is strictly based on the financial aspect of the company. It's a sham. They have several third party financial companies for you to go to including ABC Financial (which only deals with the WOW membership) and Blast! Fitness (which only deals with the training, and the employees have no control over any of the money or management over your club membership. The club charges WAY more than the advertised $21.00 a month, but also a service fee of $29.99 if anything goes wrong with your account and ANOTHER service fee of $11.00 the next month! They claimed there was no money in my account to keep charging me these outrageous fees and when I called the bank, I found out I had been scammed. Blast! Fitness' agreement was $180.00 a month for 4 personal training sessions, which is high but I was willing to pay. I asked to put my account on a freeze while I was away for 9 weeks, which they said would be no problem. I later got charged over $300.00 because turns out, the people who you deal with and the people who deal with the money don't communicate. When I called ABC Financial to dump my membership and get out of this I was put on hold for over 10 minutes, then spoke to a rather rude woman who kept telling me she couldn't cancel my account either, I have to mail in a written letter. I've been a member at Work Out World for several years now. Recently my daughter joined the swim team at the local YMCA, and since I am already going there several times a week, it made sense for me to work out there, so I went in to WOW to cancel my membership.I realize that my daughter won't be in swim forever, so it was my belief that that I'd eventually be back at WOW. I will be sharing this experience frequently. I went in to WOW and explained to the manager that I was going to be leaving for a period. He explained that I could pay $5 a month and put my membership on hold, but I wasn't interested in that, since I don't know how long I'll be member at the YMCA. He then told me that I had just paid the yearly fee of $40 last month, and that even though I won't be using it, I will get none of that back. Great PR move! Can you think of ANY other company that wouldn't prorate that fee and refund you for the money for the time you won't be using the service? Then he explained that in order to cancel my membership I needed to make a phone call to make it official! So I got home and called, and after waiting on hold for ten minutes, I spoke with a woman who told me that no, this was not the final hoop for me to jump through, I now need to take a picture of the form I received at the gym, and email it to the company! One would think that this final insult, which is obviously by design, and another way for someone to drop the ball, and therefore give the company the ability to steal more money from you, yes, steal. No one should have to do more than one thing to quit any service. We're not done! Then I was told that they actually need 30 days warning, obviously another way to steal another month's fee from you. WARNING FINANCIAL SCAM. As in a previous comment I too feel I am a victim of a SCAM at WWW/ABC financial. I began being charged 2 separate charges beginning in November and going on until January for unspecified services at the EProv WWW. My bank checking account was used to make these withdrawals. When I informed them I had never heard of WWW I was told I was a member because they bought BSC billing information after it closed and went bankrupt and technically WOW was now BSC by another name. I said that sounded ridiculous but they told me to go read the fine print of the contract I signed and I would see it was legal. When I threatened to complain to the RI Attorney General office of consumer affairs they said the best they could do was cancel my contract so they would stop taking money out of my checking account in the future but they would not return the money they already took for services I never asked for or used. I think people who sign a contract with WWW should ask if the WWW goes bankrupt will they find themselves being billed several months later by a club they never heard of without their permission. read more

Ok so this gym is kinda small and gets super packed. They have tanning, a female gym area and a kids area, which is cool. Most of the muscle training stuff is empty, and the treadmills and elipticals are almost always taken. Cheap, they have sanitation stations, and have TV's. WOW offers nasty tanning booths, older dumbbells & showers that look like they were made to be installed in a cheap apartment. They have ton's of equipment, TVs everywhere, a bright atmosphere, cool music & a staff that rocks. The "Group X" room is spotless. The children's area is the best I've ever seen. The hours of operation are insane!! 24/7.. They never close. WOW is a great value if your looking for a well kept, clean, & friendly gym. Memberships as low as $10 a month is a steal. WOW is a solid gym. It's clean, there are a ton of strength and cardio machines, classes are offered, there is a women's only area, tanning (if you're into that), child care (if you need that), a sauna type deal in the locker room, and it's 24 hour. For $20 a month it's a pretty good deal. If you don't want classes and just access to the machines it's only $10 a month. At the beginning of the year it can get pretty busy around peak times, like after work, but it generally evens out as people forget their new year's resolution. I love the spin classes but you do have to get there early to make sure you can get in. read more

I have to give them credit here, great gym. It's a little small and I wish they had more than one squat rack but for the price, it can't be beat. However, when I moved away from the area I cancelled my membership but they continued to try charging me for the next several months. It's affecting my credit score now and they refuse to clear the charges. Apparently there was another step in the cancellation process that they didn't tell me about so WOW says that I owe them $180. I moved to California and did the right thing by cancelling before I left but they sent the bill to collections and no one there will work with me to clear it. I had to personally call "ABC Financial" to cancel it myself and I asked for a refund for those months that they still charged me even though my account was cancelled. They refused to give me a refund without proof that I went to cancel my membership. With a platinum membership you can sign up for the classes, bring a guest every day, and the waters are 1/2 price. The staff is very friendly and always right there if you have any questions. You get what you pay for. I just don't love this gym. It's cheap and $20/month but the classes are either super full if it's one of the great instructors (like 50+ people sometimes) or empty and the instructor stinks! I don't like that I have to go 45 minutes early to HOPEFULLY make it into the spin class and it's probably not even a great class. My experience is I'd rather go to a more expensive gym and have a better experience EVERY time I go. I take the gym seriously and this place just doesn't do it for me. read more

I used to work for work out world and got fired because I was sexually assaulted by a police officer on my day off and told my boss. Got fired like a week latter. Now I am calling to get my taxes and they told me "I need to stop calling". They told me also "I need to call HR" and I was told mountable times my the main store lady's Kelsie that they are coming in the mail. It's been since January and I can't file my other taxes till I get this w2. Pore customer service for the phone. Sometimes when I call they don't answer now because they know I am the only 1 with a 708 area code. I just need my taxes don't care about not working there anymore just need my taxes because I have a family and I need to file them before the deadline. Please is you try working here don't. But if you want to work out here it's a clean and respectful place for any person. Just overnight don't trust the officer that works out after he gets off work around 6am. read more

Work Out World is an awesome gym, the equipment is fairly new and well maintained. The layout of the equipment is well organized and the gym is kept extremely clean. The staff is friendly and willing to assist with your workout needs. There are a plethora of classes offered throughout the week, so there is always something new to try. This place has the WORST customer service I have ever experienced. Unfortunately my gym closed and I was transferred (unknowingly) to this gym. I personally went there to cancel and was told I couldn't that day because the manager was not in so I put my name on a list. I was concerned about being charged and was told to call tomorrow and assured I would be all set. Well I called, and the girl was the rudest (and with horrific phone grammar) person I have ever spoken to. I was only trying to get confirm I wouldn't be charged and she said "it's not my fault your gym closed" To which i responded "it's not my fault i've been trying to cancel with you for days and keep being told I can't" I asked for a manager and she said "no". I said i would hold for her and she's like yea ok you're going to wait that long. YES. YES I AM. Well i was hung up on. I immediately called back and the phone was picked up and hung up on twice. I called again. The same person answered and I asked for her name....she said "I don't gotta tell you my name" And she hung up again. I called back and again picked up and hung up on. I called AGAIN and finally spoke to a manager who gave me helpful information. However I was APPALLED that someone who works with the public is allowed to act like that. For a WOW this gym is well taken care off. I love that it's 24 hours. I'm not that big into going to the gym but this location has a woman's room which is much more comfortable to use, a lot less am him options but works for me. Very clean and the staff is nice. For the price I'm very pleased wit my membership. I LOVE the sauna. I never tan, even though I do have the playboy membership, it's cool though that I can take a guest with me. read more
