If I could give this establishment 5 NEGATIVE stars, I would. Management couldn't care less about maintenance and upkeep...there's black mold on the building, trash surrounding the entire building, and the rodents circling nearby...it's disgusting. The equipment is dated, and oh landscaping, what is that! They have posted rules, such as no gym bags on the floor that the staff doesn't enforce...complete joke! In spite of everything, membership dues went up...for what! Where is the money going and they have the audacity to charge a $59.99 annual fee on top of the monthly fee. The worst unethical gym EVER! I gave it one star minus 1! During Covid March 2020 I canceled my membership. I called , emailed and sent them a certified letter by mail. I thought I was all set! A month or two Later I received a letter from a COLLECTION AGENCY! That's illegal! It was for around $77 due to made up penalties. I never received a previous bill! Sending someone to Collections during Covid or any other time before notifying them SHOULD BE ILLEGAL! I HOPE THAT MY REVIEW AND OTHERS SHARING THEIR STORY will be picked up by an attorney so we can file a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT. BE CAREFUL DEALING WITH THIS COMPANY - they have no problem unfairly and unapologetically taking your money! (Also be prepared for Covid/mask-n@zi culture, not exactly welcoming vibes..) Signed up at Norwood location in December, so-called "cleaning fee" of $59.99 charged in mid-January. Shortly thereafter, I just so happened to find out about the location move to Canton when a personal trainer called to offer the new member free personal training session. Received the call on Wed or Thurs, club closed on following Sunday. NO posted notifications until only a couple days prior to the move, only saw them AFTER the phone call. Would've been nice if they gave members the courtesy of at least 30 days notice like THEY expect to get. I signed up for THAT SPECIFIC location, not Canton. I was able to cancel, but they refuse to refund the "cleaning fee," even though the company knew very well that they were moving when I signed up and conveniently neglected to mention it. I see from other reviews here that this is clearly a regular practice for these people, and it looks like they've been getting away with it. Talk about unfair and predatory business practices! Totally in willful violation of Massachusetts Consumer Protection Laws. Pretty disgusting, my advice is STAY AWAY. Go to another gym. read more

WoW! This place is a giant turd-bucket. Not only did my experience not change with the gym (they never fixed faulty equipment or improve customer service), but I also read a review by a former employee, which was responded to by the management (aka a fake review), where my review and the concerns I raised were ignored. Let me share with you what the process is when you cancel your account. It is very easy to sign up in store, and there is no contract. They make you call an 800 number to cancel your service. This call took me about 15 minutes, and during this call, and lots of dead air, I learned that in the terms of their one sided contract, they can continue charging me for 30 days after I request to cancel... My monthly renewal date had just past, so I ended up paying for roughly 50 days of gym membership that I didn't want. Go anywhere but here. read more

Month before the end of my membership, I stoped attending the gym and decided not to renew it. BUT...couple days after i found out that they CHARGE THE FEE FOR RENEWING membership WITHOUT MY PERMISSION!!! I was so mad about the fact that nobody didn't call me or email me if i want to renew it!!! So I rush into the gym and explain the situation. Wow (no pun intended) that last review was similar to my experience, except that I agreed to their "corporate rate" and wasn't yelled at. Let's hire a lawyer and open up a class action suit for faulty advertising??? I pay $50\mo for TWO people, and I am able to go to ANY WOW...... Little did I know, that this gym is even more GROSS than my previous one, and I didn't think that was possible. Most of their equipment is OLD..... However they do have a few elliptical that have TVs on them. The weight room is FULL of meatheads who stare at any woman who dares to walk in there as if they just insulted their mothers. The locker room is dirty....the lockers are rusty, and it smells like bad breath....the hand soap smells like a combo of incense and stale cigarettes....talk about encouraging bad hygiene....I bring a bottle of hand sanitizer with me to bath in. The entire place has old nasty carpet that looks like it hasn't been replaced since 1989. There's free daycare here, but I wouldn't bring a child here unless you want them to catch an illness... I wonder if the Health dept. patrols this place?? DON"T join this gym. If I could get out of my membership I would. I am uncertain of how this place received so many negative feedbacks, so I decided to give this place a try (3 months to be exact) because I just moved to Randolph. A majority of the feedbacks are connected to their billing practices, so I am not arguing that factor. I am leaving a feedback according to the service and space that I am paying for on a monthly basis. Also, this feedback is coming from a member who utilized other W.O.W's in the past. Let's say I am very glad that I ignored the previous feedbacks and tried it out for myself. The following reasons are why I enjoy the Randolph W.O.W more so than a previous W.O.W where I obtained my membership. -Staff Members are super friendly and staff members reflects the Randolph Community, which impresses me to no end :.) -If you seem tired, they care about you enough to give you free water....yes, they care very much so about members here -The parking lot might look full, but it might just be because the classes are amazing ( I haven't tried it yet, but I know that if it's good people will line up for it) -I have claustrophobia so I need to make sure that my fear doesn't arise when I'm working out on a machine. This is never jammed packed like other gyms. It might seem busy, but there's enough space for someone like myself with space issues :.) -Manager is super friendly and accommodating. Jose is a kind hearted person and if you have any issues, he has an ease that will make you feel comfortable. -The locker room area is okay, but come on- this is a gym, how fancy can it get? -I've been to other prestigious gyms and paid way too much to fight over machines with other uptight members- so no thank you. I signed up for personal training through Professional Fitness operating out of this Work Out World location. It's sad to say that because of ProFit, I canceled my membership with WorkOut World. I had a very similar situation to another writer down below with the same sales rep, Cynthia. And it surprises me that my situation happened in May, yet the other writer wrote their review in August, so it appears to me like this situation is left unresolved. To call themselves Professional Fitness is a completely false statement. Their employees, from the sales representatives in the gyms to their representatives in corporate offices, are condescending and unprofessional in the manner they speak with customers. I've had an encounter where their sales rep wrote up a "contract" under false pretenses, knowing my friend and I only wanted one month of training. We told her up front we could not afford nor wanted a 12-month program, yet she falsely signed my name to a contract and forwarded it to her billing office. Trying to escalate the matter took upwards of a month and more of day-to-day contact of trying to get in touch with a higher-up in their corporate office. After constant back and forth, I came to discover one document (sent via email from their own corporate office) that I did not have possession of, that had my forged signature on it, which they claim I had agreed to the 12-month program. Everyone I spoke with said my statement was hearsay and would not listen to reason. While trying to get this issue resolved, their only resolution was to cancel the contract and waive a cancellation fee without offering me any refund of what they took from my bank account without authorization for three months. I did not agree to the terms, nor were any of them gone over at any time. Simply saying I signed a "contract," and that the entire situation was "hearsay." Please do your research on this company because there are many reviews across the board that complain about issues of refunding customers for training they did not agree to and poor customer service on behalf of their corporate offices. Workout Wold, please do a better job of ensuring that your loyal gym goers are not being taken advantage of in your business. read more

This gym isn't anything fancy, but I don't understand these seriously negative reviews. It is what it is--a pretty basic gym with average equipment. This particular location is pretty big, and the parking is okay. I love that they're open until midnight--not so much a bonus for me now, but when I joined I had a part time job in Canton and I didn't get off until 10, so this location was super convenient for me, it was right off Rte 24 on my way home to Quincy, where I used to live. Now I frequent the Waltham and Medford locations, reviews to follow. I would also like to add that it seems the gripes in the other reviews are with their billing company, not the actual gym, so it's not really fair to punish the gym itself. I would have to agree with the last post, that it seems most people's issues are with the billing practices. I have been a member of MANY chain gym's such as Planet Fitness, LA Fitness, etc. and they all have billing issues. I reccamend asking a lot of good questions before you sign anything or give over your account information. The gym itself is ok. There is a lot of equipment, but it is not kept up. There seems to always be four or five staff members working, but just chatting about when I would rather see them cleaning and picking up empty water bottles, etc. The MAJOR issue I have is their false advertising about a women's only room. The "women's only area" is actually where the fitness classes are held. Therefore, if you go after work time, there is no area because there are classes from 5:00pm to about 9:00pm every night in there. Also, there is limits access to the smaller weights and balance balls, etc. because they are all in that class room and the door is locked once a class begins. What I do like is that I have NO CONTRACT. I pay $11/mo, which is a regular membership plus access to any WOW and I cancel at any time with no penalty. I can't go tanning or access the classes, but those things are not important to me at all. All and all, it is mediocre, but with the ideal location and no contract, I am going to stick with it until something better comes along. I also think that if enough people spoke up about the "cleanliness" of the facility, something would happen, but I think most users just take it as it is. The staff are actually nice if you have any questions too, which is a plus. read more

I don't even want to bother with the stars. It's whatever with that This location has several pluses for me. 24/7 which was a plus initially. The have way more than a few machines so guessing even when super busy it's more than enough for everyone. I come during the very off hours so it may be 5 other people here then. My issue is the ladies room/showers. Everything in it looks like someone had it in their garage, had a sale and WOW franchisee couldn't pass it up. The scale is the absolute worst ever. It has surely come from the dump or has just been here way too long. That type of scale needs calibration a few times a year.... yeah, right. That would explain the extra 3 lbs one reviewer said it added. Now it's up to about 9 lbs. The lockers are a total mess. The curtains are hanging off. One shower stall has a curtain folded in half with 4 hooks holding it up. With it folded of course it does not reach from wall to wall. Who thought that made sense? Went there Christmas week of 2011. I'm a member and go to other WOW locations more than this Randolph one. It was only my 2nd time there. Walked in the ladies locker room and within 5 minutes saw LICE flying around. *GROSS* (Lice live/breed in the wet drains in the sinks & showers.) Spoke to the manager (Jessica) and at first she seemed surprised, blamed it on the restaurant next door (claimed they share pipes with them??) and then admitted that they already know about this problem and that the "night crew" deals with it. Well, hello, if your customers are complaining about it then the night crew is not fixing the problem. She apologized but did not offer a firm "This will be fixed" solution. This place is okay if you know what to do! The price is 30 a month no money down or less never let them talk you in to paying more, no gym like this is worth any more. Walk in and act like you know what you are doing, they have some well trained sales people but mostly badly trained sales people. A lot of gyms are like this but the business men are grimy and they want your money! They will stall so you can't cancel and they will send you to collections if you miss a payment. After a lot of going back in forth and many people listing I showed her my bank app I paid 12-20-18. It was 1-12-18. I went to the gym and apparently me the customer has to e-mail the cancellation form to abc finance to stop them from billing me (who makes the customer do that? Never had that experience with other gyms...). Anyways they assured me they e-mailed me but I never got anything. So I asked if they can change the e-mail to my work e-mail to test if it arrives but was told they didn't know how to do that... So either they mistyped my e-mail or are trying to drag their feet to keep billing me. That's right, 1 out of 5 stars. Their salespeople alone merit this score. I've been working out for 10 years, and my experience trying out their gym was one of the worst I've ever had: 1. After receiving their tour, the salesperson offered me three "deals" on a membership. All of them were exorbitant in cost. 2. I presented this salesperson with a coupon for membership that stated "$15 down, $15 per month." She told me the coupon wasn't written the way it was meant, and that the intention was a choice $15 down and a high monthly, or $500 down and $15 a month. Basically these were very close to the same "deals" she initially presented me with. That's false advertising right there. 3. When I turned her down she insisted that I talk with her manager to "get a better deal." The process of talking to the manager took an additional 20 minutes. In all I spent 45 minutes getting worked over from the salespeople, which is actually longer than my daily workout length. 4. The manager actually compared deciding on a gym to buying a car. That's right; a guy selling me a gym membership basically likened himself to a car salesman. If that alone isn't reason to avoid this place, I don't know what is. After asking him to just try the gym for the day, he refused to let me in without me paying $20 for the single workout. 5. The only way I was able to convince them to let me leave instead of "working with them" on a marginally better deal was to threaten to make a scene. The "manager" actually yelled down the hall to keep me from leaving. 6. Another salesman apologized profusely, told me to use the gym for free and try it out, and basically told me that the manager was not himself. After I did my free workout, he offered me their "corporate rate" which was substantially cheaper. I told him I couldn't commit right away because of the awful experience that I had. He very kindly let me on my way. Anyway, this guy's professionalism is what earned the above star rating for Workout World, because otherwise it would have been a 0. 7. I decided not to join the gym. This was about a month ago. It's been a month, and they keep calling me every other day. 8. I explained my story to a friend, and it turns out she had a similar story about a different Workout World in the area. It took her months to get them to stop calling. She said they used all kinds of shady tactics. One guy even switched phone lines to call her from "a private room," so that he could tell her about a deal he claimed was so good he'd be in trouble if he was overheard. In short, stay away from WoW, unless you like being treated poorly and bothered constantly. read more

Pros Hours - I was able to go there at 10-11pm on a weeknight after I had to work late or 7pm on a Saturday when I had things to do during the day. Most other gyms are closed at these times. Price - I was able to get the cheaper plan and not pay for things I don't use like the tanning machines. Decent amount of weight and cardio machines. Cons The free weight room could be bigger and better. It is relatively small compared to other gyms I have been to. That's the biggest reason why I no longer go there. read more

Do not expect the world but it is now been RENOVATED! Yes you heard me right it has! New managment new staff (mostly new maybe one or 2 of the old ones) and you can't beat the 24 hours open! This gym is a total scam. They sold me a No Committment plan but when I went to cancel they said that I was binded by contract and would be subject to an early termination fee. When I confronted them about the discrepancy the manager at the location was very rude, condescending and refused to acknowledge any wrong doing of the representative who sold me the membership. I have never experienced such a horrific experience in dealing with a business in my life. I would rather be drenched in gasoline and beaten with a flaming bat than ever step foot into this gym again. I do not recommend this gym for even the occasional gym visitor, It has a smell, the members don't keep the gym clean (paper towels in the cup holders, they don't wipe the machines down, there's not enough trash recepticles or bottles of antibacterial spray) there's not enough parking and if you do park in the back, it's dimly lit and very desolate. (Can you say potential victim of violent crime?) IF you choose to do business with them I suggest asking for the PAPER copy of whatever you are being sold BEFORE you initial anything. They will show you everything on the computer but print out something totally different than what you are being sold. read more

They have all of the stinky policies that I have never met. They won't let you cancel the plan even though they said they could do that any time. They made me wait for weeks to cancel my plan so that they can charge me the fee of the following month that they know I would never come back. The manager is very irresponsible. She knows she can do everything but she made me wait for her employee to come back to take care of me. This gym is about as low a grade level as you can get. The back weight room is filled with men who speak other than English and who do not interact with anyone else, nor do they care if you hear them since they know others do not know what they are saying. But even worse...the once great Zumba classes are now now taught by very mediocre--at best---teachers. They teach using whatever music they like and do not coordinate the music with the moves into any kind of rythmic routine. It is obvious they no no experience or skill as dancers or athletes. Shameful, really. There appears to be no overall supervision. The manager's desk has been removed to the nether regions of upstairs so members can't bother him, but now he does not bother with the gym. I am in the process of canceling my membership. Two of my friends are members so I have gone with them any number of times as a guest - all I can say is THANK GOD I didn't sign up! The bathrooms/locker rooms are gross (rusty lockers with nasty stuff left in them), the floors are uneven (I mean huge hills under the rugs that you trip over if you are not super careful), most equipment is old and the staff cranky at best. Atmosphere in general is cave-like (dark, musty). Aerobics schedule sucks too - especially at night (after 6:00 pm). The last time I went as a guest I called first (wanted to be sure that the guest pass price was still $10) and was told yup - $10. Got there and the chick behind the counter couldn't figure out how to process the $10 payment so some sleezy sales person comes over and says he has to talk to me about joining the gym first. I say no thanks, just want to join my friends in working out tonight. He then says the price is $20! Go to Planet Fitness - no aerobics classes but it is CLEAN, with new equipment, ok staff, tanning included. read more

Awful, Awful, Awful!!! This place is such a SCAM! The contracts are horrible, and binding beyond belief. The trainer sessions are also rediculessly priced and binding. They don't care too much to actually help you, or work with you to setup a healthier diet or routine like they initially claim they will. in order to cancel you need to write a letter and mail it to the middle of nowhere? Maybe its just me, but I think you should be able to cancel something the exact same way you sign up for it. I was told that in order to cancel I just had to give 30 days notice. When i specifically asked about having to pay a fee I was told no, come to find out you need to actually get through to someone who has correct information on how to cancel, then write a letter and mail it with a check for 20% of your remaining balance...um thanks for that information. If I knew then what I knew now I would not have ever wasted my time!! And, to make matters worse I am only having to cancel for health reasons and they don't even give a shit. This place is awful!! Went into the location in Randolph a few years ago after being hassled by the staff and given 2 passes only to find out I could only use one pass one time I elected to decline (seriously if you have a decent gym is a free pass a big deal?? Most decent gyms give a week!). I decided to sign up in Brockton. The gym is okay. Just go in there prepared to tell them you aren't paying an fee to join.,don't let them do the whole "this is the normal rate..but today JUST FOR YOU I'm going to slash it by 50%." I also am bummed I signed up for 2 years because this place is sort of a dive. No cleaning supplies, the bathrooms/locker room are always a mess and the staff is mediocre at best and not friendly at all. read more

I joined WOW last year and didn't use my membership enough. I tried calling the Randolph location and was told I had to come in in person to cancel my membership. I did do this - and was given a slip of paper to "call" and confirm the cancellation. I called the number of the abc financial that apparently WOW was using. In January I was hit with an annual fee and an additional monthly fee - roughly 70.00 - i immediately called the Randolph WOW which is the place I thought I was doing business but they told me that yes my membership was cancelled but I had to deal with ABCFINANCIAL - i explained I called and left the number of the slip that had been given me but to no avail. I then called ABC financial again and after 45 minutes of phone terrorism - press 1 - no press 2 - no do this no do that - I finally got a person who told me that she couldn't help me that I had to pay till February.
