I started my fitness journey about four years ago, and I have been kickboxing for almost 3 years. I can definitely say kickboxing changed my life. It is one of the only workouts I have sustained; it keeps me interested enough that I keep on coming back for more. Rockbox fitness is a kickboxing based fitness gym. It incorporates elements of kickboxing into their almost hour-long routines along with functional circuit training for the second half. I love this format because this is the only way I feel that I incorporate any sort of resistance and weight training into my workout routine. It's the best of both worlds. Head instructor Kevin here at the Gainesville location is amazing! His technique is amazing, but his kindness and approachability stand out. Everyone, no matter what your skill level, is welcome at Rockbox, Gainesville. Instructor Emmanuel's stretching techniques are well appreciated and instructor JJ's energy, technique and enthusiasm is beyond comparison. Latest instructor Aiden is amazing. It's a fun class but at the same time it feels like an individual workout. If a particular exercise was too hard for me, there's no judgement when I modified it. (Hard pass on Burpies) The coaches were supportive, encouraging, and focused on helping you push yourself. They were all friendly, fun, and cared to know me as a person more than just a member. With the variety of coaches, you will find a coach that matches your style and needs. I found all of them great! (Thank you Nick, Lori, Tori, Jeffrey, Joelle and Sam!!!!) The workout combinations made me focus on punches rather than other life stresses. (It's hard to think about work when my brain is thinking 'jab, uppercut, slip, hook, hook' on repeat). I loved that my kids saw me grow stronger and healthier while there. They saw me and the female coaches as roll models for strength and power. I shouldn't have to I was ready, and I came in at the same time the other girl came in, sooo why do I need to reschedule? I could have stayed, I just think they was kind of rude and didn't help me out at all, highly would not recommend!

They provided gloves for free and hand wraps I believe were like seven dollars. During the class we were given about 4 to 5 different stations to work out in and each we're different workouts. It was fast pace, there will be no air conditioning inside so I had to step out for a second during our break. Even as a beginner, I feel like I walk around my community in Manassas with more confidence and awareness and have learned how to reduce my chances of being a victim in the first place.
