I purchased a lop bunny from them today and less than an hour from purchasing I discovered the…read morerabbit had fleas. Immediately called them and the Mexican girl was very rude on the phone and told me to bring it back and made it seem like I don't know what a flea infestation looks like. I brought the rabbit back and they told me I can give the rabbit back and pick another one or they can spray it with mite spray! Which would kill it since rabbits have extremely sensitive respiratory systems. I've owned rabbits for years and was horrified by the lack of care and the handling of the rabbits. They couldn't even tell me the brand of pellets they were feeding so I could buy some so it doesn't go into GI stasis from the switch. I immediately took the rabbit I swapped the flea riddled one with to the vet because I noticed it had nasal discharge and after running tests they discovered it has a respiratory infection and worms. Moral of the story don't buy animals from shady places and listen to the negative reviews they have merit!!

First time ever in Lubbock…read more There is a towing sign on the wall of the building but one would assume it applies to the length of the buildings (Brûlée Bakery is next door which is where I was for a couple of hours). I did not even see this sign when I parked but noted it afterwards. What I did see is a sign made for the shop in front of the parking space directly next to mine that is for time limited parking. If you are looking to make sure you aren't in the wrong spot that flags your attention and you think you're fine. If you happen to notice the sign on the wall you still think you're ok because you are patronizing that shopping center. When I was getting ready to leave the bakery I was on my phone sitting in my car in order to finish my conversation before I started driving. A nice lady stopped at my car and signaled for me to roll down my window. She said "just so you know, they normally tow people." As if I was lucky my car was still there. I sweetly smiled and said I was from out of town and wouldn't be back. By this I mean I will never darken their doors. I was going to go in once my call was done just to see what they had before I left. My mom's dog is spoiled rotten by the whole family and I might have spent too much money there. It has happened once or twice as he is the sweetest Malshi ever created. Now? No. If this is truly only their parking, I am sure the owner gets tired of people parking there. But I am a complete stranger to your city, and I do not feel welcome by your establishment at all now. Not to Lubbock and not to your pet store. It felt elitist and hair trigger punitive for a simple misunderstanding. I know I'm not the only person to interpret the signage this way, even for people who live here. What I learned quickly about parking in Lubbock is that there are many places you have to hunt for it. As long as I saw I was ok to park in the lot or shopping center of my destination I had to park and walk quite a bit. How about you as an owner get better signage? And what a way to welcome someone to your town - can you imagine if I were towed and had to go through the expensive and complicated process of figuring all that out? I looked at the city this week in context of if this is a place I would live, and if so what places what I frequent. I can tell you 100% this is not one of them. I believe in kindness and giving someone the benefit of the doubt. They obviously do not reciprocate this ideal if they "typically tow people". This is only the second negative review I have left on Yelp to my recollection. Obviously they do something right because they get good reviews from patrons. It may be unfair because I didn't go in, but so is towing people because you can't get your signage to make sense. Would give zero stars for their attitude but I did enjoy the parking.

I took my dog to the grooming salon in December with his vaccinations that were done only three…read moredays prior in Dec 2024. He was groomed and the gal did a great job. Since it went so well I made another appointment. When I got there they said they didn't have his vaccinations on file. I explained that he was here four months ago and I left the paperwork. They apologized and I had my daughter run to the house and send me a pic of them. They then said they don't take handwritten vet notes. They didn't say that in December. She looked again and said she didn't notice which vet it was and that she does take handwritten notes from my vet only. Once that was settled she looked at my paperwork again and said since there wasn't an expiration date on the vaccines she couldn't groom my dog. She said that she had no way of knowing whether the rabies shot was a one year or three year shot. I tried to explain to her that it should really matter since these were way under one year old. She refused to budge on the matter. She called a manager and the only one available was one from the warehouse who had no idea about grooming and vaccinations. He refused to allow her to let my dog get groomed. So, after about 30 minutes, I left with my shaggy dog. Such a sad experience when a little common sense could have helped. In my opinion she didn't want to groom another dog. Mine is a small Yorkie who just needed a haircut.

I am extremely disappointed in the service I received today, July 4th, concerning the grooming…read moresalon. I am a loyal customer in bringing my husky to the West Lubbock location 1 to 2 times each month for furminator, bath, brushing, teeth cleaning and nail grinding. We always over tip for the services and we buy all our pet supplies and food from this location. We also donate to the various charities supported by PetSmart. I'm in the mindset that loyalty goes both ways! We made an appointment over two weeks ago on June 15th with Dakota - we are always punctual - except for today, which proved to be very unfortunate. We couldn't find the leash and our dog decided he needed to go to the bathroom which put us a few minutes behind schedule. My wife called at 12:38 pm which was 8 minutes past our appointment time to let the groomers know that we were near the parking lot. I was incredibly surprised when she denied service and she stated that the appointment had already been canceled since we were 10 minutes late, so I went in with my dog to talk to them. I have to say that we were not privy to the 10-minute rule. I apologized to the young lady for being late - and again she denied me service. She curtly called a manager who called his manager, and we all had a long discussion over the philosophy of time. At one point the young lady stated that my tardiness will put them 45 minutes behind schedule. I have a degree in math, and I know that starting 15 minutes late does not calculate in finishing 45 minutes behind schedule. The manager told the young lady to work us in and he allowed her to simply say no. By this point it was 12:50 and the young lady got what she wanted - it was obvious that she simply did not want to groom my dog today. Also, the management lacks the authority to guarantee the same loyalty from its employees that I have given this store for the last 10 years. We were offered a slot the next morning at 9:30 am with a discount - which is a small consolation since we had to take the dog back home and missed our lunch reservations with family. All said and done - I am disappointed with PetSmart customer service today!
