That package is especially useful because I travel frequently for work and LA Fitness has been the only gym chain that remains consistent with the amenities that it offers across the majority of its locations. It also allows me to now feel like I have no excuse to miss a workout no matter my location. This particular LA Fitness in Stone Mountain has EASILY become my favorite. So much so that I pass five other more convenient LA Fitness' leaving work downtown just to get to this one. (Atlantic Station, 5th St, Church St. Piedmont & even my home location, Covington Hwy haha). No knock to any of those locations AT ALL, because i still visit from time to time and the machines don't necessarily differ, but Stone Mountain has my heart for a couple of reasons: My number 1 reason the smoothie station. The husband and wife that operate the kiosk here are two of my favorite people in the world. They are extremely personable and really make me feel like family. They greet me by name and already know what I'm going to order before I even say anything. We have genuine convo throughout the whole smoothie making process and have even looked out for me on a couple of occasions with a free smoothie. The amazing thing is, they are this personable with ALL of their customers. I feel like I'm cheating on them if i go anywhere else. Also, they learn your tendencies and when you're ready for your smoothie. If i get in later than usual prior to closing, they encourage me to go ahead and work out and bring me my smoothie to the floor while I'm lifting when they know I'm at the halfway mark of my workout. These two are amazing. Also, I thoroughly enjoy how they aren't always crowded and the amounting machines they own. It's sometimes harder to workout at other locations (especially Mondays right after work) because every machine and room is overwhelmingly crowded. I've never had that issue here and I love that. Lastly, their cycling room is pretty cool. It's auditorium style which i feel is pretty cool, unique and fun. Overall this has been my favorite LA Fitness for a while and I'm always excited to come back.

The coaches push and encourage you through the workout! "High Energy and Positive Vibes"--Coco-Channel I've now been attending this gym for nearly three years and I still love it. We take trips to Stone Mountain and parks to keep things unexpected and fun. Come try out the OTF Stone Mountain crew they are great! Everyone knows you by name and we all cheer each other on. The only thing I dont like is the classes they have available are set at the instructor's discretion. I signed up thinking I'd be able to take classes at one time based on a schedule issued by the owner, but because the teacher and the students already had their routine together, I was just out of luck. Other than that, its a great gym. Oh and no contract or auto draft..you can't beat that. Oh the parking is a little cramped.

I'm honestly disappointed and frustrated with my experience here. I found out our family insurance…read moreplan offers a Gold's Gym discount, so I tried to apply it to my membership when signing up. My wife is the primary policyholder and submitted the required form with my date of birth, phone number, and all the ID numbers. However, Gold's Gym staff kept insisting my name had to appear on the submitted form--even though the form is generated by an automated email system that only shows the primary policyholder's name no matter what you do. I also had my insurance card (showing both our names) and my ID available, but that still wasn't enough. To add to the frustration, when I tried to talk to someone higher up--like the owner or a manager--to get some common-sense resolution, I got absolutely no help. It was like talking to a brick wall. And to top it all off, they don't even offer a veteran's discount, which I find unbelievable in this day and age. I'm only going to this gym because of the insurance rate, but the sheer lack of common sense and customer service has left me really disappointed. I hope they can improve how they handle straightforward situations like this, because it really shouldn't be this hard. They get two stars just because the equipment is kept up.

Money is not an option. I literally pulled up in a G wagon that I bought for my 15-year-old daughter. So I'll just spend my money elsewhere. I have plenty of money to hire a Personal Trainer to come to my inside home gym . Wanted to support someone in a community, I guess I'll do as rich folks do and hire someone to train me in my home gym. I've been working out at Base Kamp Gym for about two weeks. Coming from LA Fitness, it's a godsend…read more It's clean, has the equipment I need (following a powerlifting-oriented workout), and Brigette is attentive to what equipment may be wanted to keep filling the gym with quality workout tools. It has better equipment than any gym I've used to-date (multiple heavy-duty squat racks, deadlift jacks (yes!), an olympic bench, deadlift platforms, and associated machines for bettering powerlifting movements. For those who may be interested, there's also strongman oriented equipment: stones of varying weights, farmers walk handles, sandbags, multiple kegs, and tires. Along with the equipment, there's also a designated area to complete your farmers walks, or tire flips, or whatever you might want to do. I've enjoyed every workout I've had at Base Kamp Gym and I look forward to each of my future workouts.
