Asians keep receipts but in a wholesome way We don't split love, we rotate blessings. For $49.99/person, this AYCE Korean BBQ was straight violating my self-control. The short ribs?? HELLA BUSSIN. Like actually criminal. Every bite had me ascending like a TikTok food review in 4K. Meat so juicy I almost stood up and thanked the cow personally. The grill smoke got us smelling like seasoned warriors walking outta there but honestly worth it. Staff kept the meats coming faster than my auntie asking why I'm still single. And let me put y'all onto some elite Chinese vocabulary real quick: "好吃到舔手指" (hǎo chī dào tiǎn shǒu zhǐ) = "so good you lick your fingers." That's EXACTLY the vibe. Finger-licking good fr fr. YakiniQ got me fighting for my life, unbuttoning my pants in the parking lot, and already planning my return. 10/10. No crumbs left. Their "Red Hot" peanut sauce is the carry here - no doubt. Highly recommend with my utmost respectful regards!

Granted we were a bit late for our reservation, we ended up having to wait another 30-40 mins. The place (2nd floor) is small & awkward. We were all cramped waiting on the stairway and the actual seating area is also fairly small for a busy KBBQ place/big parties. The 8 of us squeezed into a booth with 2 chairs on the side. You can also feel whenever the table next to us got up and stomped/yelled/moved in their chairs-- which was really often. The basic AYCE menu is fairly limited-- esp for the side options. The marinated meats were pretty good as was the tteokbokki. Side & meat portions were alright, but the kicker is having to flag down staff to make sure they put in the order & bring it out. We asked for japchae about 5 times before it actually reached our table towards the end of our meal. The server/manager also told us that he had accidentally brought out 2 bottles of soju for us and that he'd COMP 1 bottle. We didnt notice that he had actually charged us for 2 and comped/subtracted a "third" one. So none were really comped at all. I just realized after we paid and that felt really sketchy. Idk if it's worth coming back here.

I guess tastes so good I forgot to write a review each time when this place first opened. lol Better late than never. Good for the Sunset to have a good reasonable crab place and it's still after all these years sinceNovember 7, 2018 . I know there are other crab places in this area but had a bad experience in one of those places where we were not refunded for our meal after we left that restaurant and manger didn't believe us. Anyway, I enjoy this casual Golden Crab house that was opened by The PPQ Dungeness Island team from the 5821 Geary street in 2018. Every dish is created using only the freshest and finest ingredients.

They're one of the few Asian restaurants open until 9 PM, which worked perfectly for our late dinner plans. We arrived around 8:20 PM, and the staff was kind enough to seat us without hesitation, even though they were nearing closing time. They didn't rush us at all and allowed us to enjoy our meal while they started cleaning up. Their thoughtful and relaxed approach was really appreciated. They had a $98 special for two that included a whole crab, garlic noodles, egg rolls, and salad--such a great deal, especially compared to other crab spots in the city, which can be pretty expensive. We've been to a few, and this one definitely offered good value for what we got. We added green beans to our order which was delicious. We ordered the peppercorn crab, which was tasty, though a bit salty on the outside--as expected with a salt and pepper dish--but the crab meat itself was delicious. Next time, we'll probably try the garlic butter version to compare. The only minor disappointment was the tea; it was a big pot with just one teabag, so the flavor was a bit weak, but not a dealbreaker. Parking in the area isn't great, especially at night, so we chose to Uber across town, which worked out fine but took 25 mins from Potrero Hill. There was no wait when we arrived, but since it was a Tuesday night, I wouldn't be surprised if there's a wait earlier in the evening or on weekends. Overall, I'd definitely recommend Golden Crab House. Unassuming, casual family vibe. It doesn't get as much attention as some of the trendier spots, but we'll be back for sure.

Reservations are hard and we went and 8pm but good thing is we had an appetite! Prime rib is moist, and huge. I saw some folks getting their cut broiled if it is too rare for you. Truly an SF classic!

But, I'd say it's worth the wait! The restaurant itself is very old-timey and old-money. Super nice, great ambiance. I think they kind of ruin it a little bit with the LED light strips around the crown moulding, but that's okay. It is also insanely dark inside. I could barely see the menu or the people around me. But the menu was short and sweet, so I did not have to struggle with it for too long. The price difference between the smallest slice and the biggest slice - the King Henry - was only about 10 dollars, so obviously, I opted for the biggest slice. It was a hearty chunk of meat, that I got seared. However after trying a friend's non-seared classic prime rib - I realized I had made a huge mistake. The sear makes the meat far less tender and alters the taste of the meat. Of course, that's a personal taste though - so you'll have to try both to know which one you prefer. Our server actually mentioned that the classic way is classic for a reason - and I foolishly ignored that advice. The mashed potatoes were good, but the gravy was amazing. And the creamed spinach was my preference over the cream corn. They also serve 3 types of horseradish with your meats - and a word of warning - the spiciest horseradish is VERY spicy. Don't eat a whole dollup out of curiosity... Dessert was honestly the only thing that was slightly disappointing. They prepare the strawberry shortcake in house, but I did not think the cake was particularly moist or delicious. But the strawberries were fresh and sweet.

It honestly felt like we were ordering with a friend who just happens to know the entire menu inside and out. She gave amazing recommendations and even told us she makes the hot sauce from scratch (which... you can taste the difference). That level of care really set the tone for the whole night. Now the food... not a single miss. Seriously, not one thing we didn't like. We went with the Ultra menu ($108), which includes lobster, and it was 100% worth it. For broths, we chose the Tom Yum and Tonkotsu. Both were rich, flavorful, and perfect in completely different ways. The meat selection was incredible, especially the wagyu options, they literally melt in your mouth. You can tell the quality is top tier. The flame-torched wagyu nigiri was absolutely out of this world--perfectly balanced and paired with a wasabi powder that elevated every bite. We also had the hamachi cloud, which was so fresh, flavorful, and had the perfect crunch--such a standout dish. And the spicy clams? Easily one of our favorites. Super fresh, super tasty, and packed with flavor. Beyond the food, the entire staff made us feel genuinely welcomed, which made the experience even better. The location is perfect. It's right in the center of Japantown. Inside they have a bar where you can sit and talk with the servers face-to-face. And it's a great spot to people watch while you eat. I truly cannot recommend this place enough. Between the incredible quality, the variety, and the next-level service. This is a spot I'll be coming back to again and again (and yes, I'll absolutely be asking for Irene).
