Stopped here while renting a lake home for a few days. This was during Covid so we weren't sure what to expect. They had tables closed and it seemed safe. Ordered chicken and fries for the 12 yo. She enjoyed them. We ordered 2 pizzas and thoroughly enjoyed them. If you're looking for good local pizza. This is your place! Afterwards you can get some cobbler or ice cream. read more

Called in an order, and was told it would be about 30 mins. Our tradition is to get pizza on Fridays, so we know pizza pretty well. Mind you we were on a vacay weekend, so not in a hurry. But I hot there 40 mins later and was told it would be another 10 mins. After about an hour from when I ordered, I got our All Aboard and Fried Green Tomatoes. Staff we friendly and keeping busy, but when I got back with the food, I was a little miffed. It was incredibly thin crust and most of the toppings were not even cooked and the cheese was barely melted. The fried green tomatoes were ok, but they have it posted like it a specialty of theirs. The pizza did turn out better after I baked it a little longer. The crust, I am pretty sure is pre made food service pizza dough, no rise or freshness to it. Sauce was good, and the pizza actually tasted ok. We love trying new spots and this one lands me right in middle. read more

Bad service I wanted to give this place a shot since it's local and I like to support that, I came here to get a Togo order and eat it on my way back to work. After waiting 15 minutes for them to go through 4 phone in orders and then to be told that I would have to step aside until someone else can take my order so she can check out the people who already ate, I was upset, then there was no one to take my order because she was also on the phone. The cashier would have taken my order if I had called in but since I was there she wouldn't??? Never recommending, never supporting, and turning anyone down that ever mentions it. read more

We stopped in traveling from Pigeon Forge to Nashville. I would highly recommend this place. The waitress was awesome. No problems with service and the food is great. She also helped us with advice for traffic going into the Nashville area. Definitely worth a visit to this gem. Do yourself a favor and get the Fried Green Tomatoes. read more

We are on the search for a decent slice of pizza in Cookeville. We spent over $40 for 2 pizzas and their disgusting excuse of cobbler. This place serves pizza on par with frozen tombstone pizza. The crust is identical to the look and taste of the cheap cracker quality you get from tombstone pizza. Attached is a picture of tombstone pizza next to their pizza and you can see for yourself, it looks like it could have came from the same product. This is not fresh quality pizza and should not have the audacity to charge so much for this crap. On to the next pizza place since we will definitely not be eating here again. read more

During the COVID-19 shutdown, I was craving a great pizza and chain restaurant pizza just doesn't suffice. I finally found this little gem on Google, which wasn't too far from home, so I placed a to-go order. The restaurant is easy to find. Their pizza is absolutely delicious; I ordered pepperoni and pineapple. Their breadsticks are also awesome. If you're in the Baxter area or traveling on interstate 40 and hungry, I highly recommend giving this place a try. read more

I recently attended the Baxter Labor Day festival this weekend and spotted this little establishment that was facing the railroad tracks. During the festival, they were selling shirts, pizza by the slice and handing out special event tickets for a pepperoni pizza for $10. So my mother and two toddlers decided to try it out. Right off the bat, we were greeted with smiling faces! These were faces of locals who were excited about being at work and who enjoyed what they did. That made us feel so comfortable immediately. We were seated right away and we ordered the pizza special when we sat down. Our drinks were served promptly and courteously. And I got a sneak peek at the dough being rolled out. The pizza came out nicely and very hot. Paper plates were given out. I'm not sure if that was just a special event idea, but it worked for us. No complaints from here. It was a very good experience. As we were driving on I-40 I noticed a sign for The Whistle Stop, and I couldn't resist stopping. As a fan of the movie "Fried Green Tomatoes" , how could I not stop. They had Fried Green Tomatoes with the batter from the movie. Loved it. Sandwiches, Pasta, it was a very full menu. They also have live music on Friday nights. Pizza was excellent, as good as you could get in Chicago. Friendly staff, and one of the cleanest and best kept restaurants we have stopped at. They are building a train depot across the street, which will make this even more like the movie set. read more

Love the pizza and the staff is really nice. Depending on what you're in the mood for, the bands are fun (and loud!) when they have them on Friday nights. It also gets really hot in the restaurant on their busy nights, so you might want to wear short sleeves. Otherwise, order to go! read more

Really good pizza! But that's not all. Try the meatball sandwich. Or just about anything on the menu. This is our regular pizza place, but once while i was on a low carb diet, i asked them for a philly cheese steak salad (not on the menu) and lo and behold they made it for me. This is a really wonderful local business with good food and friendly service. Daily specials are great (especially Monday's two medium one-topping pizza special). My only complaint is they cut the pizza in squares, although when asked they will cut it in wedges/triangles. Love the Whistle Stop! read more

Pizza was ok. I ordered the antipasto salad because of the review....ya, was pretty bad, no dressing even and over priced.

Pizza was very tasty and the antipasto was so pretty. Awesome wait staff. Worth the quick trip off the interstate.
