I love coming here for the seasonal scavenger hunts. The weekends are a little more competitive, but I find that weekday mornings are very chill! Most people on the weekday mornings are just there to do normal snack shopping. The store is well spaced. The merchandise is organized nicely too! The parking situation is surprisingly difficult. The World Market in Lynnwood at/by Alderwood Mall was one of the places my family and I enjoyed visiting to look for fun room decorations and miscellaneous snacks when I was growing up. It was a little further from the house, so our visits tended to be on days we needed to make more than one stop. However, depending on what we were looking for/through, our visits could be on the longer side. Inventory could cycle relatively quickly compared to some stores with a similar style, so it was fun to come and see what was new and what was still on the shelves. It was a place where my sister and I learned that if we wanted something, we might want to get it because what it was might not be in stock the next time we came by. Lines at check out were typically quick and parking relatively easy to find, though there have been occasions when circling has been necessary. My mom and I continue to come to this location on occasion when looking for presents. read more

We look forward to browsing here whenever we're in town, and the staff is unfailingly helpful. No better place to shop for a gift for someone who "has everything"... The parking lot is pretty bad. The way it's designed makes it very hard to find a spot near the store. Sometimes you have to park in the Target parking lot and walk over. The store always has lots of products. They have really unique things and pretty good prices. The employees are all very friendly and helpful. This store is the goat, literally the only place to get mango peelerz around for a good price and they always have the best snacks that you can't find no where else. Also the staff is just amazing, especially this one girl that helped me out, Joie, just always eager to help and super kind, and the other staff I've met, Jessica and Ricky, Jessica is super nice and Ricky is just a super chill guy. "Why yes, I do need that, and that, and that..." One cannot help but get lost in the stores of Cost Plus. This behavior is even more prevalent during the holidays when seasonal goods from around the world are placed front and center for many to see. Customers are treated to displays of various trinkets, kitchen, bath, furnitures, specialty foods, wines, and various gifts unique gifts. We have been in search of a pine wine rack. The timing for our search and their 40% furniture sale was the perfect catalyst for a visit to their store. We research the availability on their website and contacted the Lynwood store to request a hold. All hold requests have a 48 hour limit. Pick-up was fairly easy and the store associates were helpful and prompt. I recommend signing up for their World Market Explorer loyalty program. This is a great way to earn $10 back for every $200 accrued purchase. Also, they are running a contest called "Golden Llama Treasure Hunt." Customers must solve a riddle and find the hidden golden llama to win a reward coupon valued at $20, $50, or $100. Needless to say, our quick trip lasted longer than expected. This is the worst World Market purchasing experience ever in my 12 years as a customer. I ordered two sets of 2 chairs online, and for anyone who can do math, that's a total of 4 items. When I go to pick it up at their Lynwood location, the lady who handed me my order insisted that it only counts as one order because I picked it up in-person. She said the sale price only works for online order (which I did place online), but since I picked it up, the regular price applies. I'm not sure if the lady was just ignorant or if this is the actual company policy. If what she said is really true, then why was I allowed to check out the items and was even offered an option to pick-up for an extra 15% off? If this is true, the website should restrict me from doing a pick up option since I won't get the sale price if I did. I told her it might be the system's error and it wasn't my fault. She said she's not saying it's my fault, yes you are!! You are refusing to give me the rest of my order because of a computer's error. I have a clear receipt that I ordered two sets and should get four chairs (see attached photos), but she kept insisting that if she gave me the other set then I would be getting the rest for free. WHAT!!???? I clearly paid for all of them, how am I getting the rest for free? By not giving me the rest of my order, you are the ones stealing my money. Absolutely worst!!! It's such a traumatic experience that I don't think I will ever buy anything from World Market ever again. Oh and I still haven't received the rest of my order. read more

I love Cost Plus, AKA World Market, AKA Cost Plus World Market, AKA CPWM. This chain has home decor, seasonal gifts, specialty foods, toys, jewelry, art (paintings/prints/sculptures), baskets and random things all from around the world. Came in with my friend to wander around and see what we could find for artist supplies and inspiration. Saw some beautiful fabrics from Kenya along with papers and small toys from India. Also, my friend loves hot, spicy things so I showed him the hot sauce area in the grocery section. We were greeted with a loud, booming hello by the cashier the moment we walked in, and a couple employees offered to help us find anything. The parking is good sized here, and this store is well organized, clean and in a sweet location near the Alderwood Mall. read more

I really like this store as an alternative to going to IKEA. I think the furniture on average is of better quality and has more interesting aesthetic than plain semi-gloss black or white. The furniture doesn't get as cheap though so probably out for budget dorm rooms or my first time moving out pads. The service is excellent from the warehouse to the front of house in helping me make my purchases and letting me know of any promotions. You can also easily shop online for in-store pick up. Just beware anytime you enter the store you'll probably pick up some sort of nicknack you didn't expect to buy. read more

I always seem to come out of here with some kind of random and unexpected purchase. That seems to the be theme at Cost Plus, there is so much variety and high-quality items here! The store is in a convenient location with lots of parking. It's next to Target, Kohl's and a thrift shop too, I think. I love shopping here because it's so much fun and I'm always tempted to buy something that I really shouldn't. They always have festive and holiday-themed items depending on the season. Last time I went in, they had their 4th of July/BBQ items which were fun to look through. I usually buy candies, caramel waffles, and miscellaneous kitchen items here. It's a great place to buy housewarming gifts at an affordable price! I once bought the stack of 5 or 6 mugs for less than $10. The items are also very "worldly" like the name implies. They have furnishings from India, wine from Italy, and kitchenware from the USA. Had a great experience! Went into the store looking for nice dinning chairs. After looking and testing the ones we liked, we had an associate or mAnager come by to see if they could help. They brought us a measuring tape and gave us space. Once we decided what we wanted they were right there eager to help! We ended up buying 8 chairs total and took 4 home the same day. The other 4 they didn't have in stock but we got free shipping! They helped us out with our big boxes and were so friendly! This place overall was clean, good deals and even had samples! Very happy with the bargains I have found here. They have a bunch of stuff at prices that are OK, but there are always decent selections of housewares, kitchen, and dining stuff at really good prices. Sometimes you have to look a little. But I've found great plates for $3 each, really nice wine glasses for $7 each, and great candle globes for $4 each. When you keep finding stuff at good prices pretty soon you check more closely for good deals, and this store keeps rewarding you. To me, their best stuff tends to be the stuff that has the plainest style--simple white for the plates, and so on. They're more known for having stuff, I think, that looks exotic or like it's from the tropics, and no doubt that stuff works for plenty of people. But it tends not to be where the bargains are. They have some great deals on stuff obviously purchased in lots scattered through the store, always changing. I'm not a huge expert on shaping for housewares, but this is a place I'll always check if I run out of stuff or break stuff. read more

I love World Market, but this location in particular has stood out to me. The customer service has always been top notch! Our most recent experience involved returning a couch we had ordered for a different facing one, and the return and re-ordering process was smooth and simple. Sing was very quick to help my boyfriend unload the heavy boxes and was very accommodating and helpful. Great job to all the employees here for being excellent at your job! read more

I love this place, especially when looking for gifts for people you barely know. Grab a $5 basket, stuff it with an assortment of mini food-stuffs, trinkets, bath items and other goodies...and there you go!!! What I don't love is when the employees stop you in the middle of shopping (like today) and offer their rewards program....but even when I said I wasn't interested, the response was a blank stare and further explanation of the program. Hooray, this is my 100th review! I absolutely love Cost Plus. It has all sorts of unique gift ideas, from food to toys to imported items for the home. I can always find something for that co-worker, acquaintance, or family member (who I know likes cats but I'm not sure of what else) who is impossible to buy for. I can spend over an hour in this store, just looking at the items and trying to convince myself that I don't NEED that lovely hand-woven blanket or gigantic imported candy bar. And the prices are quite decent considering the quality and selection of what they sell. At Christmas time, Cost Plus has a huge amount of Christmas ornaments and decorations that are well-crafted and unique. On top of all this, Cost Plus is currently the only place that I can find that still sells maple candies in the shape of Santa Claus. It is a tradition for me to get these delicious goodies in my Christmas stocking (yeah, I'm 22 years old - so what?) and this is the only place I can find them. So that only pushes my rating even higher! If you've never been to Cost Plus, I highly recommend that you check it out. It's a fun place to shop. read more

I don't shop here regularly... I only go here to find TIM TAMS/Arnott's Original Chocolate Biscuit (Australian Biscuit Cookies). It's pretty pricey though... but again I don't get it regularly. Btw if you haven't tried... you must try it with milk (called the Tim Tam slam!) Bite off 1 corner. Then bite the other corner (that is diagonal from the 1st corner). Holy Sale! Can we talk about how awesome their sales are for a minute? Today they were having a 40% off all wall decor sale! I got a giant industrial-esque mirror, a giant wooden united states map, and 4 metal wall hangings for SO CHEAP!!! This place has great finds. I absolutely love World Market since they have such a good selection of home goods, including affordable, minimal assembly required, furniture. This is also the only store I have ever found in the US to carry my 2 favorite sweets: tim tams and australian liquorish. Yum! Anyways, love this place. I particularly enjoy the food section, which is rich in unique foods from around the world. Candies, pasta, chips, drinks, sauces, pickles, and a variety of treats. The home decor is also nice. I've bought lamp shades, rugs, and glass vases here, and you can find new things on each visit. For extra savings, join the explorer program. This is a fun store to browse in if you have some time to kill. They have a lot of unique and interesting food items, many of which my boyfriend quickly added to his Christmas list. They also carry a better than average selection of beer, occasionally with something I haven't seen anywhere else. My boyfriend seems to get the beers of the world box from here every year as a gift. Wine section is pretty big as well. I hear their hot sauce prices are decent too. They sell a variety of other things for the home, but this stuff interests me less. I was impressed by their black friday sales and promotions. I also was quite happy to be able to find the items I saw in the store online without much effort. When I crave PG Tips or Zapp's chips, this is the place to go. If I'm hankering for Bundaberg Ginger Beer or some Lemon Lime and Bitters, I'm here! For specialty sodas, British chocolates, or small gift items, you'll find it here at Cost Plus. Cost Plus has a damned near dizzying array of imported foodstuffs that makes for bad impulse shopping but fantastic for expats who might miss that blue can of Heinz for those late night beans-on-toast cravings. They sell furniture, clothing, doormats... basically name it and you'll probably find it in some form here. I've encountered friendly staff members who have assisted me with checking the back for stock, pulling higher items down, and offering to get me a wheeled cart when they see that my hand basket is too full. I would say that the only thing that I dislike is the hard sell for their World Market Explorer programme to save money. They might have a quota to fill but it's a little intrusive when more than one person offers it while you shop. I recommend avoiding them on the weekend because they are at their busiest. I'd recommend doing your shopping here during the week if you can. They share a parking lot with several smaller shops and across the way, Target. read more

*3.5 stars* Living in the multicultural arena of Vancouver, we're pretty lucky to have shops that carry cultural goodies all over the city...but how awesome would it be if you could get these all in one place? This is what World Market is. A one-stop shop where you can get a bag of Kona coffee, a jar of vegimite, some stroop waffles, and a bottle of Italian wine all in one place. Add into that, they also sell a lot of cultural knick-knacks and furniture, and it's actually a great place to just wander the aisles and explore the world! Prices are pretty reasonable, but keep in mind that items being 'imported' also means things could be a bit more expensive than say at Target next door. TIP: Make sure you sign up for the free membership to take advantage of the discounts! Otherwise, you'll be paying quite a lot more at regular price. read more

I'm a huge fan of this store and was excited to see they are expanding. It can be a little pricey but they have some of the most unique stuff you can't find anywhere else. their food section is really quite amazing new fonts of the best and unique cool stuff in there. My favorite is their continue. I love the style and uniqueness of their pieces. Overall a great chain and somewhat of a hidden gem add I still find people who have never been in. I LOVE World Market. Every time I go I can find something I didn't see before. Unique products that, go figure, come from around the world. I particularly love World Market furniture. I've purchased two different dining tables that have served me very well for a very fair price, a coffee table I love, and an apartment sized couch that is pretty awesome for the money. That being said, I particularly enjoy THIS location. The store is very spacious and laid out in a way thats quite inviting and I end up buying things I didn't know I needed every time. The staff is always really helpful and Chuck, a store manager, is particularly friendly and helpful. He really went out of his way to help me in a recent visit and didn't even bat an eyelash at having to rekey in codes to the register about 5 different times (I'm not kidding, it was old school...they right need to update their registers). I also appreciate that its next door to a Target, cause ya know, Target. So go to this store. Say 'hi' to Chuck and enjoy all their is about World Market. This is a great store located near Alderwood Mall. It has wonderful items for home decor and unique food finds. Prices are higher, but keep in mind almost everything is imported and more original then you would find at Target. The service is friendly and I never have a problem finding a staff member to assist me. The store is always clean and has a welcoming feel to it. read more

I went into this store with my family and kids to have a fun experience on a Sunday morning looking for the "golden llama" and shopping. One of the managers, Chuck, was very rude on multiple occasions in his approach to my family members. Another kind family gave one of the "golden llamas" to my sister in law since they had found two and Chuck did not like the fact and rudely told the other family that it was not allowed. The official rules stated that "its one per person" and not one per family so Chuck was making his own rules. When one of our boys was running around happily saying he'd found one of the "golden llama" which we let him have, Chuck stopped by and loudly said in front of my boy that if kids found it they would take it away, give the kid a sucker, and re-hide the "llama" again. He also told us that next time we were in his store we need to make sure our kids (4year old and 2) are not touching alcohol or going through the section. Mind you, we were looking for the "golden Llama" and so were searching all the displays and our kids did not even touch the alcohol. Chuck also remarked "its sad when parents are so desperate that they allow their kids to go into the alcohol sections". I am not aware of any law that States minors are not permitted to touch or enter the alcohol section and no signs were posted at the store. On check out we presented a second gift card which we acquired by finding a "golden llama" and Chuck ran over to the cashier and accusingly asked if I had already used one earlier and if my sis in law was my wife. If an employee like Chuck cannot be courteous to customers I feel he is working in the wrong industry and setting a wrong example for his employees. read more
