They have been having a 50% off sale and I fell in love with a beautiful painting which I purchased for my birthday. I paid the asking price and they were to ship it to me in Australia. There were many signs in the shop saying everything was discounted. I had the perfect position for it in my bedroom just waiting for this beautiful work of art. I should have taken it with me and not trusted them to ship it for me. If I had walked out with it that would have been the end of it. My painting! Paid for ready to hang. Come Monday I got an email saying I could have a credit note to spend in the store or pay the other 50%. I responded that I wanted the painting sent as per our contract of sale which I had made with them. They then said I could have a total refund or pay the other 50%. I said I did not want this and my efforts to call them and speak with them were ignored. Then I received an email saying the refund had been done and i would get it in about 3 days. Again I rang to speak with the owner however she did not take my call or return my call as requested. I was also told they were not able to discount this artists work and they were sure I would understand that. No ... I do not. When I made the purchase the woman behind the counter was very explicit about the price and told me she had sent out an information sheet on all the paintings to their mailing list at the 50% price. I believe that someone else offered them more money for the painting and thus they negated my purchase and took the extra from another buyer. Of course I have no proof of this however it is the only thing that makes sense. I feel like I have been treated with contempt and would not recommend this company to anyone. They could not even return my phone calls.

I stopped in yesterday to look at rugs and found an interior designer whom I had previously worked with at RH. Her name is Pilar and she is wonderful. I also met her partner, Boris, who brought Pilar to Arhaus, and clearly has amazing judgment and a great eye for talent. Together, they walked me through some options to solve a challenging interior design issue and offered to go above and beyond to help me. I ended up finding a 60's Cedar Waxwing cup, which I promptly set my heart on; it is now safely sitting on my collectibles shelf. Yelling at an employee to put her earpiece on her ear when the employee had made it known very politely it had fallen out and she hadn't realized. People make mistakes. We ARE human after all. I was told my only option was to repurchase and I'd have to wait for my refund. I don't like that they couldn't rectify this situation in a easier manner, but when I told Carl to go ahead and cancel my order and I'd purchase in store, the "manager" sighed, rolled her eyes, and said "WELL! You're gonna have to call customer service now to cancel it." She was a very unfriendly lady. If you hate your job, find a new one. After reading previous reviews, they check out. Carl was the ONLY employee who made being here worth it. I will never shop at this location again, I'd rather shop online and pay shipping. There needs to be some serious coaching with these woman employees. Carl deserves a raise and he should absolutely take over as manager. 3 stars is too much for this location, but Carl's 5 star service is what helped them. Please do better! Customer service is non-existent.
