Long long lines during the Christmas holiday and they were already out of some of the items I wanted to get (Pantatella bread). I left and came back and managed to pick up another item on my list (reed diffusers that smell like glorious pine needles). I also was looking for dining table crackers (the ones that make a popping sound) and they were ALL OUT. CVS actually carried Panatella for way cheap like $5. My advice...all the stores in the Woodlands like Kirklands, Home Goods/Marshalls, etc will be always OUT OF EVERYTHING during any holiday. EVERYONE IN THE WOODLANDS DECORATES AND ENTERTAINS..LOL. So go to Conroe or somewhere else and your items will be in stock in the store. read more

World Market is one of my favorite stores. Sometimes my hubby and I will just walk the food isle to see things from other countries. Recently we picked up their jambalaya and gumbo soup mixes. They have quickly become two of our favorites for our weekly dinner menu. They have such unique items, which makes gift shopping easy. Been awhile since I came to this place, but since I was in the area & needed to restock on wines (:p), I thought I'd take a gander. For starters, there's NO help. No one stopped to ask if assistance was needed. I wanted some wine suggestions since I wanted to try something new, but nothing. There was even a lady nearby that was "supposed" to be offering samples of a wine she has on her table, but instead she proceeded to chat with another associate. :/ So I managed to just use my judgment and purchased a variety to see what they're like. After browsing, headed to check out where there was a long line of customers who seemed to have been waiting awhile - and they had. With all the folks in the store, only one person was at a register. I've always had a thing for World Market and this location didn't disappoint. It really is like taking a mini foreign trip browsing all of the authentic foods and knick knacks that they have. The small clothing and jewelry selection is nice too. Everything here is just so my style that my heart smiles on every aisle. Like a kid I want to touch everything and smell every candle. The worst location. I have been here multiple times, each time it gets worse. This past time, I dealt with Zefe, and a bald man with glasses, both were rude and combative. Terrible customer service at this store. I don't need to shop anywhere if employees are going to be rude. Never in my life have I ever felt so uncomfortable in a store! My wife & I went to World Market to check it out because I've never been. As soon as we walked in we were followed!!! My wife and I like to take our time in stores especially ones we have never been too. We continued to be followed by a cashier & the manager. Unique store that carries everything from cards, to all kinds of generally less expensive kitchenware, cheaper art, furniture, pillows, throws, gourmet food, candies, beer, wine furniture, funky jewelry etc... This store is laid out a bit chaotic for my preference. Everything is new but it kind of reminds me of shopping at a disorganized Marshall's which I dislike. The lighting is on the darker side in the back and all the ethnic foods are so tightly crammed together is just seems to cheapen everything IMO. The carry lot of look alike kitchen products like Sur La Table but the quality of the materials are iffy and from a country that has known issues with toxicity and shoddy or unsafe manufacturing of products. I got a lodge pre seasoned frying pan on sale which was a really great deal. They do have so many unique items but overall the store is not quite me. I think I would of enjoyed it much more when I was in my twenties. They do seem to have selected sales on going. Overall A-ok. read more

The restroom was very unsanitary. It was the type of dirty that takes months to build up. No one has cleaned the women's restroom in a very long time. The floor, trash bin, walls, napkin dispenser, and baby changing station were all splattered with very soiled material. This was the type of dirty that takes months to build up. This place is like Pier 1 on steroids but at reasonable prices They have little bits of everything in here; dishes, glasses, curtains, rugs, furniture, toys, kitchen gadgets, specialty foods and chocolates, coffees.....you have to go in one to fully absorb the scope and plan to browse for at least an hour Wonderful trinkets and instruments and other things from locations around the world. My favourite time to go is at Halloween and right before Christmas. The decorations they have for these holidays are astounding! I even got some jack o lantern shaped pasta last year! Slight disappointment will not outweigh that I still love the feel and items this store sales, oh and the coffee. But on to my review of THIS store. I was always a frequent customer back home to the point they knew me by name. But with this store it seems like all the employees are distant and just there holding down the structure. Maybe I have higher expectations and longed for the same community feel I had being a regular back home, but service was definitely lacking, especially when I couldn't find anyone on the floor when I was seeking help. I had possibly the worst customer service situation I have ever experienced at this store yesterday. I go yearly with my family to participate in the scavenger hunt (this year was golden unicorn), among the many other times we shop there. My wife and I buy our stocking stuffers here and peruse separately as to not blow any surprises. This year while shopping, my wife found a ticket and my 5 year old son who was with me found a ticket. Mine was traded in no problem, but when my wife went to trade hers in (holding our 18 month old daughter) she was treated as though she was stealing merchandise from the store by the store employee, Zefe, and other staff because another customer was complaining that our family found two. Without even a chance to explain herself they cornered her and forced her to hand over her ticket and dismissed anything she said stating the rule was one per family. No where in the rules online or in the store did it state that, but they were so insistent and rude that she decided to hand back the ticket that my 5 year old found. I'm wondering where this attitude was last year when a family in front of me traded in 3 tickets. I have never experienced such awful customer service from a store that is supposed to be higher class. We have spent thousands of dollars in this location alone and now plan on never shopping there again. read more

I found that the employees at this store are not in the least helpful. I needed one of them to call another store to find out if they had a dining room set I wanted. She seemed absolutely annoyed that I had asked for such a thing. She did it, but gave me the worst attitude ever. Little did I know the manager "Rick" ( I think that's his name) has yet the worse attitude in that store. One good thing I could say about him is that at least he knows the company rules. After dealing with Jason at the Sugar Land store, Rick is at least competent. I love Cost Plus World Market but after today I don't know if I will shop there again. My husband and I ordered a shelving unit during the Labor Day sale. I ordered online and set up for curbside pickup. the order said approved and would be ready to pick up by 9/16/2020. I went into my orders today and says ordered but nothing else. I decided to contact customer service. I was chatting with Myah, who said that my order was canceled on the 14th and that I would have a refund within 3-5 business days. I than asked her what happened. How was I able to order an item that was out of stock and why wasn't I notified. She just said sometimes this happens and that the system doesn't update blah blah blah. I told her that her puppet response was not answering my question. I said why didn't anyone notify me and tell me. We have been excited and waiting for this unit to arrive. She had nothing but BS puppet answers. I am so frustrated and irritated. I have never had this happen. If I didn't reach out I wouldn't have found out until I checked my credit statement or called later in the week. What kind of business is this? Terrible customer service. So disappointing... The store itself is great, they are just terribly understaffed and most of the people that work at this location are so busy that can't offer any assistance on the floor. World Market is a go to place for filling Easter baskets, Christmas stockings, finding unique birthday gifts and finding food, wine and beers that you can only find online otherwise. I've been shopping at this location for 18-ish years. I've consistently had good customer service and seem to always find something while browsing. We get coupons a few times a year in the mail and they have good sales. My only complaint is the store seems a bit cramped and cluttered. I'll keep coming back regardless. read more

The world foods section is our favorite, where you can buy candies and chocolates and snacks from various regions of the world, skip importing and pay a little more to just get them here. I really spend too much money at this place. World Market is one of those places that largely stays the same but there is always something that catches your eye every time you come in, and for some reason you have to have it. It doesn't help that they send you coupons through your email if you sign up for their rewards program, as well as having weekly discounts on entire categories of products. It could be furniture one week, tableware another week, wine the next week, etc. It's great for you as a customer, but not so great for your wallet or pocket book because it makes you more prone to buying things! If you're going for something specific you have to go straight for it and leave as fast as possible. In an earlier tip I mentioned preparing to spend a little more than you intend to because World Market has a habit of making me pick up little things that I really don't need, especially from their international food and drink area in the back of the store. This place is an awesome place to find something a little out of the ordinary, especially for gifts. Customer service and the employees are great here. The prices are reasonable as well. It's right in the middle of a shopping center so just swing by next time you're in the area. read more

I come to this store mainly because of my wife. They have a lot of specialty candies and foods from the UK that reminds her of home. The store also carries lots of different wines and home goods that will appeal to most tastes. The staff is not super friendly here, which detracts from their rating.
