Found this updated post in my draft folder from a year ago or so. Oops. (Dedicated to Moo-Moo.) Kitty showed improvement after just 2 visits. Our local vets didn't think it was possible. More key points I learned: (6) 50-60°F Cold compresses for 2 minutes, then (5) 105°F hot for 2 minutes. Start with cold & end with cold. This gets the blood moving in & out of the area. Warmth is inflammatory, that's why you need to start & end with cold. I bought a bunch of microwavable heat/cold pads. I would put the hot pads in a pot of hot water while using the cold pads to heat them back up. Make sure the urine stays clean looking (bladder emptied 2 or 3 times a day & antibiotics if an infection develops), the skin & genitals get cleaned & dried well to or not get a skin infection. Females - don't cross-contaminate by bringing feces bacteria to the genitals. Infection = sepsis Products I found helpful: cat waterless shampoo, A+D diaper rash ointment & skin protectant (vet recommended because no toxic zinc in it) , & Honey Pot anti-itch wipes. read more

I was away for a few months when my dachshund was in agonizing pain, crying most of the day. My wife had what turned out to be the most incredible idea, borne out of frustration. Chiro has helped my 11 year old lab get her mobility back! My dog murphy in the past couple of months had taken a major decline In her health and mobility. Gary did an amazing job with my dachshund mix. She injured herself attacking the fence (saving us from leaf blowing gardeners on the other side). As a result her left rear leg was not working - she would not put weight on it. We believed this was a nerve issue as it had occurred occasionally in the past year - now it was all the time. After a few days, we took her to Gary who was great. It was pretty clear there was an issue with her spine. He gently worked on her, applied laser heat treatments and after two sessions she is 90% back to normal. Dogs don't 'fake' recoveries. Either it works or not and in this case it worked. Even though he would improve after treatments, because he was older his condition would continue to worsen as time went on. So I went from bringing him in every other week, to every week. In going so often, I would also schedule appointments with the other doctor Maegan, and I liked her a lot. My dog gravitated more towards her and was more comfortable when she worked on him, so I made the decision to bring him to her every appointment. My 8lb chihuahua/terrier mix Benji has benefited greatly from Dr. Wong's services. He had abruptly started to lose his balance, miss jumps onto the sofa, developed a head tilt and nystagmus (rapid eye movement). He was eating and somewhat "normal" but was definitely not himself. The emergency vet said they couldn't find anything wrong but if it didn't improve, the next step was a $4k MRI which we were not prepared for. He is a big jumper, runner and all around hyper dog who often pulls on his leash HARD and I thought maybe that had something to do with his condition. Dr. Wong was incredibly attentive during my initial call, set reasonable expectations for outcomes and agreed to see him. After just TWO visits, Benji has improved dramatically. He's back to playing, running and jumping (though we try to keep him off high chairs now). Dr. Wong also suggested a different diet and Benji loves his new fresh food from JustForDogs. To be clear, Dr Wong did not recommend a specific brand but rather a few trustworthy online resources that I researched to find this option for him. He does not hard sell anything which I appreciate. Quite the opposite- he's full of insight and wisdom that only many years of hands-on experience can provide. I am so grateful to Dr. Wong and his excellent services. My dog got very sick in July of 2019, to the point where he was crying constantly. Started out at the emergency vet, they diagnosed arthritis and gave us a few prescriptions that didn't really help. Two other vet visits with no clear answers except everyone agreed his back was a problem. X-rays didn't show the issue so the only recommendation was to get an MRI which I definitely could not afford. Finally it occurred to me to see if there was such a thing as a dog chiropractor and I found Dr. Wong. His treatments helped our older bouvier immediately. As the treatment progressed we found other underlying health issues that we had not previously known about and one by one we solved each of the issues.
