I've never been to a store dedicated to just one brand; I've only been to places like the Tennis Plaza. The spot is a bit hidden away in an area that looks like a corporate park. The inside is a pretty decent size and even has a "play area" you can test out paddles. They have items from rackets, paddles, hats, balls, and even athletic wear. The inside is half office and half store/court. We got to chat with Chris and he let us know that they actually host an event every month with food and drinks and even give special offers and discounts during those events! It was so tempting to walk out without a paddle but I controlled my urge. We did however leave with a paddle for my cousin for her birthday. A great spot to test and pick up a paddle!

The Lighthouse Point yacht Club has been around for many years (longer than I have been around) and is located on an amazing piece of real estate in Light House Point surrounded by multimillion dollar homes and really nice yachts. The restaurant is only open to members so you need to be invited (special thanks to my friend) and the holiday events are done with style and class. The Easter Buffet was really amazing with a huge variety of breakfast, lunch, salad, and desert options that has something that will please everyone. The service was also high quality and will remind you of the way is used to be or let you know what you have been missing at the local restaurants. They also have a dog park, basketball court, tennis courts, fitness area, fishing, handball etc. Plenty of parking. I love that it's right by the water and there's a bit of shade as you're trying to get your daily steps in. I finally stopped coming because some people were not watching their dogs as closely as they should. The worst incident I saw happened when a bike rider was going past the fence. A dog pulled off the leash a man was holding and leaped up and ripped her arm open. After that I was done. The problems of the past seem to be over with the new renovation of the dog park. You must register your pet now in order to use it. Registration is $35 for Coconut Creek residents and $70 for non residents. There are separate parks for large and small dogs. The city has added wash stations and agility equipment for the dogs. The park is lovely since it borders a lake and there are over 60 trees providing shade. Water fountains, benches, and a wash station were also added. Keeping your pet safe is a security fence surrounding the entire dog park. Right now only around 150 dog owners have signed up so the park is never crowded. The park is closed on Tuesdays for maintenance. The iconic windmill of the park has now been moved to the inside of the dog park and a lot of landscaping was added. The renovation of the dog park was part of a 3 million dollar Windmill park renovation. Parking used to be dicey but not anymore as the parking lot has been expanded to twice it's size. A new playground has been also added for human kids. Furry kids can be registered at the Community Center up the street on Lyons Road. Once you pay you are given a FOB to enter the dog park fence.

There are so many different options of activities to park take in. Some options: Adult workout area, picnic tables, kayak launching area and a wonderful walking trail. If that isn't enough this park also has a few tennis courts, pickle ball courts, basketball courts and volleyball. Including clean restrooms, cover pavilions and cameras in the parking lot. Do not forget the ample parking. If you are local and have yet to visit, I highly recommend doing so!

The Lions Club, a civic organization in Deerfield Beach was formed in 1947. Their first project was…read morethe creation of Pioneer Park on the banks of the Hillsboro Canal. To raise money for the project they had chicken and rib barbecues. These fundraisers were so popular with the community that they have turned into an annual celebration in Deerfield Beach called Founders Day. The Lions Cklub cleared the area for a park and added a baseball diamond, barbecue pit, and picnic area for the community to enjoy. Today the park also has a playground, 180 foot fishing dock, and six lighted tennis courts. The boat launch allows you to enter the Hillsboro Canal and out into the Atlantic Ocean. If you are looking to engage in team sports, water sports, or just need somewhere safe to take the kids to play, this park is your answer.

After all, it is the start of summer in South Florida. I tried this park. It's well maintained and has fields for sports including tennis, baseball, and basketball. Plus there is sort of a path that goes around the park (if you include the regular sidewalk on one side). There are a lot of nice trees, but I would say there is about 50% shade coverage. So for me that may not be enough. But for others who want to use the facilities and don't mind the heat, it could be nice.

This park was named for Pompano pioneer Robert aka Bob McNab who came south after the frost of 1899…read morein Central Florida with his brother Harry. Harry was a city councilman and banker who opened the first movie theater and ran the post office and grocery store while brother Bob spearheaded the city's agriculture and commercial development. The brothers made their fortune in farming which enabled them to own most of old Pompano. They were the first people to own an automobile and have electric lights. I stopped by because I noticed the beautiful large Christmas tree that the city had set up in the park. They also added decorations that light up at night. While it was beautiful display I felt uncomfortable because they were at least 20 homeless people in the small area of the park. At least one was smoking pot right next to a toddler. As I was leaving I ran into a security guard who told me the homeless could be there and it seems like they have made it their gathering spot. It's sad that the homeless of Pompano can't get better services to help them off the street. The city could have saved the money of the decorations and put it towards that. The really ironic thing is the park is directly behind the Pompano Beach visitors center. I don't think this is the welcoming look of Pompano that they wish to convey to tourists. Although I can't recommend a visit the park it also has a clubhouse, tennis and racquetball courts, basketball court, and a children's playgrounds but honestly take your kids somewhere else.
