Grady and his crew did our landscape renovation using a design from another architect. He and his crew were punctual, efficient, and respectful, and the result was excellent. This job included building a retaining wall, installing two areas of artificial turf, nearly 100 plants, new drip irrigation system, and landscape lighting. The crew showed up every morning at 8:00 AM, plus or minus about 30 seconds! They kept the area as neat as possible, stayed out of our way, and cleaned up very well before leaving each day. We found Wray Landscapes on another social media site which revealed superior recommendations. We scheduled an appointment to cover what we envisioned for our fairly large backyard last May. Our previous landscaper had let it go completely to weeds. We had hoped that we could immediately get started with the work, but Grady suggested strongly waiting until the fall. We reluctantly agreed and suffered with a dirt backyard all summer, but were convinced this was the correct recommendation. We recontacted Grady the beginning of October and he set us up on his calendar for the later in the month. Grady arrived the first day, by himself, with his equipment and singlehandedly put the entire yard back into the proper topography and hauled away the scrapings. The next day Grady arrived with his assistants and they proceeded to distribute the topsoil to prepare the the yard for sod. An all day project in itself. Saturday morning, Grady and crew arrived and by late afternoon had laid down nearly 3,000 sq. ft. of sod with our meandering pattern. There was a slight shortage, about 10 rolls. Grady apologized and explained that he would hopefully be able to retrieve the remaining rolls and install on Monday. He arrived around 10 am Monday, sod in hand and completed the job in a timely manner. Additionally, Grady recommended that we replace our weathered sprinkler heads and we agreed. All sprinklers were replaced, set and scheduled on our existing timer. Grady's professional installation, competitive quote, and timely service also included detailed instructions for proper watering, future seeding and other instructions including fertilization. I had Grady come out and take a look at some major sprinkler issues I was having in the backyard. He quickly came out and provided a reasonable estimate, free of charge. I ended up expanding the scope of the repair and asked Grady what it would cost to set up a brand new irrigation system in the backyard. The work entailed setting up two zones - the first zone with 7 sprinkler heads offering full coverage of the lawn, and the second zone was a drip system that was set up in 3 perimeter areas. The job required a full day of work and the total cost was $1,400. I felt like the cost was in line with the quality of work, and though I may have been able to pay less elsewhere, Grady excellent work and was honest, thoughtful, and a patient communicator. Throughout the course of our communication, Grady provided educational YouTube links to videos that I could easily reference in the future. He provided advice on other things in the yard well beyond the work he was hired to do - e.g. pruning fruit trees, tree removal, and retaining wall advice and plumbing. We wanted to support a local business and decided to hire Wray Landscapes to do some updating of our yard. Grady met with us for a consultation to go over the project. ItI had several huge dead spots and tons of weeds. I was thinking it would be around $1500 to 2000. But I really wasn't sure. Grady came out on time and told me he thought there was a cheaper way that would yield similar results. Instead of resodding he dethatched and airated my lawn and reseeded and did some other things. He did all of that for $500, instead of the $1500-$2000 I told him I was expecting to spend. Who does that today? The lawn looks fantastic! He was 100% right. He was on time and did a fantastic job.
