While the big box stores have lower cost fence options, the quality is not any where near the quality and lifespan of Ffc products. I purchased and installed a hand railing for my front porch 7 years ago. Two years ago I added brick pillars to my porch posts and the length of each section of railing needed to be shortened by about 8" to fit between the new pillars. The railing was still in great shape, I was able to disassemble, cut and reassemble the railing without any cracking or evidence of brittleness. The railing looks as good as the day I purchased it and it is sturdy enough to actually function as a hand rail for my porch steps. So much of this type of product is not designed to take the weight of an elderly person, or survive the weather in Indiana. Last summer I installed a privacy fence for a customer and I found the style that my customer selected from Ffc to be of the same high quality material as what I have at home, so I have no concerns that the color will fade or the fence will sag. The products that Ffc sells are far superior to other retail products and I will only install their fencing for my customers. Since I install my own products I cannot speak for their customer service, but my orders have always been handled efficiently and arrived when promised. The sales people seem to have a good handle on the products they sell and are well informed about shipment arrival. The only reason I didn't give them five stars is I wish I could buy the stuff a little cheaper. Because of the quality, I keep coming back.

A new issue arose at my business this year so I called Oak Ridge Fence & Gate to see if they could assist because I was happy with their work that was done last year. When I called this time, I got Julie on the phone and she requested that we send her photos of the damage via text to which we did as she had requested. My assistant had a conversation with Julie and Julie told her that someone would be out at my business later that day or the following day to look at it in person and give us a quote for repairs. No one ever showed up. No one ever called and Julie never even confirmed she received the texted pictures. So since we heard nothing, we called Julie to follow up and to confirm whether or not she received the text/pictures. She was rambling on about the company moving locations or something like and that they would break more boards trying to repair the job and she eventually declined our job in a very unprofessional way, in our opinion. It sounded more like she had no clue on how to properly fix our problem. We feel in the very least Julie or a representative from Oak Ridge Fence & Gate could have acknowledged us or responded to the text we sent her per her request. We got nothing. No calls, no response, no one showed up. We found this to be highly unprofessional and we don't want to work with a company or a team who lacks communication skills.

At this point I'm noticing other things that are not right with the fence, tons of scratches and missing coating in places (I went with the black fence) they used mismatched parts, loose poles and didn't install the wire at the bottom that I paid extra for. They randomly show up at my house while I'm not there to install the gate. I called the salesman and went over some of the issues I had. He showed up and then the manager also stopped by to take a look. After that they told me it would be another two weeks till they could get someone out to fix the issues. After the installers left all they did was cover everything that was damaged in spray paint (wrong finish spray paint, half the poles are satin and the other half are gloss), left materials all over the place in my yard, installers did not follow the directions that the manager and myself went over. When I told him all the issues the manager (Peter) he just didn't respond. This was susposed to be a quick easy project that turned into a 4 month headache. I was sent to another representative who showed me the faucet recommended by the contractor. I chose one in one color and he said they only had it in another color. I said thank you and proceeded to leave when another man scolded the second man and told him he had one in my color. The second man picked it up and wrote me a slip. The third man said he was giving me a 30% discount. Well, upon installation the faucet didn't work and the shop wouldn't give a refund. In addition, the amount he charged me with a 30% discount was more than I would have paid at Menards. Luckily the contractor got the piece to fix it. Horrible experience.
