Best Western Denver Southwest - Exterior

Stayed here recently on a business trip through the area. Reservation made at the BW website…read moreonline. A double queen, ground floor on the inside with a view of the pool. The standard minimum amenities you expect, the room was very basic and clean and met my needs for the night. Very quiet, fairly comfortable accommodations and convenient location in the southwest portion of the greater Denver area. 3 Stars convenient locale and served its purpose. 00994

***DISCLAIMER*** I didn't actually stay here, I put my in-laws and an elderly uncle here for a week…read morebecause of my daughter's HS graduation. This place is quiet and off the beaten path. The rooms are clean and spacious. This is definitely a gem in the middle of a ton of sketchy places. It appear well maintained. They were both happy with their rooms. The breakfast is self serve but it isn't. It's behind a counter and you order what you want and they hand you the plate of food. It's the pretty standard fare.... Eggs, waffles, a meat, and the like. And there is a sand pit right out front with a fiberglass dinosaur. Fossils are the theme in the common areas as well. The pool is also a zero depth entry and is heated as well. The hot tub broke during their stay with an unknown repair date. It's fine, it happens. What peeved me the most was the common usage bathrooms were locked at 6pm. The pool is open until 10. So while hanging out and catching up, if you needed to go to the bathroom, you had to walk to a room and walk back. It's fairly easy for someone like me who is relatively young. However, for my elderly uncle (83) and my in-laws (late 70's) this was a chore. And on those lines, there is a second floor but no elevator. What is the alternative if the entire first floor is sold out but you cannot physically climb stairs? Because of it's location, I don't think selling out is a problem but you never know. I would consider a stay-cation here in the summer because it's close to home and a nice getaway. But I would definitely make sure the hot tub was working first.

Came here on a work trip and my company booked this hotel. The area it's in is really nice. Belmar…read moreis walkable and full of shops, restaurants, and activities. The twinkling lights on the trees are really nice at night. (My Uber driver dropped me off and said "pretty" lol) The staff here was very friendly and helpful. I was in a fifth floor suite and it was really spacious, clean, bright and comfortable. It had a kitchenette with an island, dishes and spoons, dishwasher, fridge, stovetop etc, which was really a nice touch. I didn't use this in my two days here but could see how it could be really useful to travelers. There's an included breakfast every morning which was pretty decent. They have hot options like scrambled eggs, omelettes, pancakes, oatmeal, as well as the typical breads, pastries, cereals you get in a continental breakfast. I went with yogurt and fruit and granola every day which was very nice. The fruit is the typical mix you get out of a bucket, heavy on the cantaloupe and honeydew which was a tad slimy and tart. Overall though, it was super convenient to have this spread and it's really a lot nicer than a lot of other breakfasts you get at other hotels. Cozy couch. Views of the mountains in the distance. I really enjoyed my stay here. I likely will stay again because of business, but am absolutely looking forward to the next time. Big shout out to Lance who was especially pleasant and professional!

I will start this off by saying the hotel was in the middle of remodeling during my recent stay,…read moreand safe to say our room needed it. While the majority of the hotel was fine, the mattress on the bed were rather uncomfortable (I ended up on the sofa bed because of it) and there were some large and questionable stains of the blinds. Aside from that, the place was pretty decent. Nice and quiet, excellent breakfast for a hotel, and nice staff. The location is also very convenient as it's close to some good restaurants as well as larger stores such as Target and Best Buy. Pretty good for a quick two-night stay before moving on with my travels. If the remodel does address these issues, then I'd say this is safely a 4/5 or maybe even a 5/5. However based on my only experience there, I can't really give it more than a 3/5.

Timed street parking and parking garages are available. The hotel is tastefully decorated with modern decor. The rooms are spacious, clean, and the bathroom includes amenities and bath robes. Gather around children and let me tell you the story of our adventure with this establishment and…read morethe surrounding area. Upon check in, the staff, super nice. Asked for my ID to verify I am who I am, but here's where the adventure truly began. The front desk clerk obviously didn't look at my ID when I gave her my last name for check in. There just happened to be two of us with the same last name there that night. The ID should have been utilized to tell the difference between myself and Nancy. I prepaid for my room, Nancy hadn't, so I got charged for Nancy's two rooms (I got refunded). The desk clerk felt bad for her mistake, and reversed the charges immediately. The room was nice! Newly remodeled/refurbished the room, the beds, the floors, thus the reason for the two stars. The bathrooms could have been given a little TLC since that obviously wasn't touched during remodel. Now the neighborhood... There are really good restaurants nearby (Jelly/Park Avenue Tacos), but wow this neighborhood screams Boys in the Hood. I was seriously anticipating hearing somebody scream "RICKY!!" when we were walking around. But if you're looking to buy a quick "fix", then the ambiance of this neighborhood is for you. Looking for a weekend shag with a possible parting gift? Well, the prostitutes in the area are for you with their missing teeth and big tits (I was impressed by them when I saw them from across the street) then this neighborhood is for you. Want to fall asleep to the sweet sweet sounds of gun shots, ambulances, motorcycles, and cars revving their engines, then this is the place for you! For the love of God, avoid the 7-11 next door because it has a metric ton of strung out drug addicts and the cashier there doesn't know how to count and is a total douche (another story for another Yelp review). I definitely won't be staying here again if I'm in Denver again.
