We recently ordered for a birthday lunch. We ended up doing their tailgate package with some extras added. My whole family (who are usually very picky) licked their plates, they were so darn happy! The workers here are ALWAYS so nice and helpful! We ordered online so we went to the online side but we could see that even at 11am (when they opened) they had already had customers on the walk upside! I travel all over the country for work and have had quite a bit of bbq. This of absolutely amazing. I'd put it up against anyone else's. Starting with the honey baked beans, wow. I asked which was better; mashed potatoes or the green beans. No hesitation, green beans. Thankfully I listened! Smoked baked beans are perfect. Brisket is super tender, heavy bark, doesn't need the sauce but the sauce adds to the flavor instead of making the flavor. Jalapeño cheddar sausage was perfectly paired with their golden sauce, which was another spot on rec. And the burnt ends are heavenly. Crunchy exterior with a super tender interior. Good BBQ, sauces are great and the seasonal Brussels sprouts were amazing. Tastes similar to other BBQ places people always seem to die for. Wrights is a staple of NWA. The bentonville location is my favorite due to the staff. They are friendly and always seem like they are having fun. Great pulled pork nachos, chicken bacon ranch sandwich, potato salad, and smoked turkey. Most people get the brisket, which is wonderful, but don't sleep on the turkey and chicken. read more

We're Austinites and heard that this is Franklin's protege. We travel to NWA a ton as we own a business here so needed to try this out of curiosity. The bbq was quite pricey compared to txbbq prices but I liked it. In Texas this wouldn't be anything extraordinary but here in NWA I most definitely appreciate it being here. Definitely beats most of the "good" barbecue joints that produce meat with a grilled taste elsewhere in the Ozarks region (I'm looking at you, "famous" but disappointing bbq place in Branson). This place was recommended by Google and yelp while I was visiting Bella Vista Arkansas. I come from KC and we love bbq. I was prepared for the tiny restaurant with only 3 tables. What I wasn't prepared for was the amount of flies in this place. Originally my group of 5 was able to get an indoor table however with the swarm of flies they opted to sit outside at one of the picnic tables in the sweltering 95+ degree heat. We got here about 445 on a Saturday. There was a small line. We came at a good time because aronud 5pm there was a lengthy line out the building. There were 5 of us and our total came up to $100 with tip (my SO always likes to tip even when there isn't any table service, which there isn't here). The app was messing up when I took a pic of my food, so i apologize but I had the 2 meat plate add a bun(for a $1) I got jalapeño sausage and burnt ends. It comes with 2 sides, I got baked beans and collard greens. My SO also had 2 meat plate but with burnt ends and brisket, and for sides Mac n cheese and baked beans. We both agreed that we have had waaay better burnt ends at numerous places. The texture of these on the outside was similar to beef jerky but the inside was soft with a good flavor. The sausage was fine and we all agreed the brisket was pretty good. All the kids got sandwiches one got pulled pork but it was supposed to be turkey (she liked it though), one had turkey and the other had brisket (not pictured cause he engulfed it almost before I could sit down). They all liked their sandwiches. I tried the mashed potatoes and they were good and creamy. The Mac. Cheese was also creamy and had a good flavor. I really didn't care for any of the sauces, they have bold, sweet and spicy and original. I thought original was ok but would go with any other brand before theirs. By far the best thing I had here was their greens!! They were really delicious with a little kick and came pretty close to my moms except she adds okra to them which is my favorite! If I come back to this area I might stop by but only for the greens. I think they should seriously think about investing in a bigger place, better sauce recipes and a fly zapper read more

I visited wright's BBQ while in Bentonville for business. I went during the lunch hour, so it was really busy. However, I was able to get my food within 30 minutes. I got the two meat platter with sliced brisket and turkey breast. For my sides, I got baked beans and green beans. Everything was really good and I would love to visit one evening for dinner. read more

I got the brisket plate with the lean cut meat, a side salad and smoked beans. The side salad is pretty massive for a side, you get to choose what you want for toppings and between the ranch the two dressing which from what I remember were jalapeño cilantro (what I got) and buttermilk ranch. I grew up in KC eating Gate's, Bryant's and Q39. Wright's goes toe to toe with them. People complain about the prices. Yeah its pricey but it's the best BBQ for over a couple hundred miles in any direction. Never had a single bad experience with service. Only giving 5 stars cause I can't give 6. read more

Well we finally checked out what all of the hype was about.... It is all true! Amazing BBQ. We tried it all; as for the meats that is. We tried the mashed potatoes (omg - only place you can find something close to these is if you made them yourself at home from scratch...and then maybe not) and coleslaw of course. They get three stars mostly because proportion size. I wanted to order the two meat plate and then whenever I noticed that the serving amount of the two sides were more than the amount of meat I had to order the three meat plate instead. With that being said I ordered ribs pulled pork and brisket with macaroni and cheese and collard greens. On my plate I received two ribs each about as long as my finger, one slice of brisket, a staggering amount of greens and macaroni and cheese. Whenever I saw the small amount of meat I was receiving I told them that I needed to make it a three meat plate instead of two because of how ridiculously underwhelming the portion size was of the meat. Now with that being said proportions are whack but the food itself was pretty good. Pulled pork was slightly over salted, brisket was good and tender as were the ribs just the proportions for the price not worth it in my opinion. You should never have to leave somewhere and still be hungry whenever you spend over $40 on a meal. read more

Wright's is in a league of its own. The competition for second place in the Arkansas bbq scene may be up for debate, but first place is unequivocally Wright's. If you're reading this, you likely haven't been to this plethora of perfected prime provisions - It's time you partook. If they don't have the best brisket I've ever tasted, I don't know who does. The bacon burnt ends are also a must. Having mentioned my two favorite meats, I'll say I have tried every option on the menu and they're all incredible. For the sides, you have to try the Mac and cheese; nonnegotiable. Also the collard greens are worth a taste too. Similar to the meats, there aren't any sides that I don't like, they're all done with a lot of intention. The service is fast and friendly, but that doesn't mean you won't have to wait. Wright's has a line out the door for both lunch and dinner on a daily basis. If you go early though, say before noon for lunch, or before 6:00 for dinner, you can minimize the wait time. Make sure to check the hours they're open, and then go ASAP. You won't regret it. read more

If I had just one thing to say about Wright's, it would be "go for the meat, the sides were hit and miss". While Kate was in Rogers for work, I thought it would be a perfect time for her to stop by Wrights and bring some home. We chose two- two meat dinners with sausage, brisket, chicken and turkey. The sides were Mac n cheese, Cole slaw, beans, and potato salad. I never rate a bbq joint by their sides so I'll start there. The Mac n Cheese, looked good but was very average. Not a lot of flavor and probably my least favorite of the bunch. The slaw was also a little meh. The beans were a touch different but we're pretty good. They weren't the exact beans so many bbq places serve, so it was nice to have a bit of a change. My favorite was the potato salad. Obviously to each their own because the potato salad was Kate's least favorite. As I've found with most BBQ places, the sides really aren't that great, No matter how much they say they are. It's rare to find one that stands out, and none of these did. As for the meat, that's a different story. I thought all were very good. The brisket had a nice bark and decent smoke flavor. It was very tender as well. The chicken (which was white meat) and turkey were both well above average and definitely worth getting. The sausage was pretty good too. As for the sauce, I wasn't really a fan of the original as it was a bit "unnaturally" sweet for my taste, but the spicy was much better, and definitely had a kick. The best sauce though, undoubtedly, is the "bold". There was something very unique about it and I'm craving some right now, a day later. Probably made my top 10 list of BBQ sauces that I've had. All in all, Wrights is good. The meat is the highlight along with the bold sauce, but the sides aren't bad, they just won't knock your socks off. BBQ definitely worth a try. read more

When you are married to pit master, it is hard to find a BBQ joint that is as good as what we can get at home. However, Wright's rises to the occasion! They are exceptional. Brisket, ribs, pulled pork, and some homemade sausage that will make ya write home to mother! And don't stop there. The sides are top-notch. Cheesy mac and cheese is my favorite, but you may want to try the thick saucy baked beans. Christoffer and Logan will give you the BEST customer service ever. And the secret? Ask for prime rib. Wow! I am old and I have had BBQ all over the country and this is definitely in my Top 3 of all time! Ordered the Texas Trio (Brisket, Sausage, Ribs) with collards and beans. Everything was fantastic. Maybe the BEST ribs I have ever had. So tender and tasty. ALL of the sauces were good and had a strong black pepper component. The beans also conveyed the black pepper theme and the collards were nice and vinegary. Staff was very nice and someone stopped by to ask us how it all was. My sister and her 100% TEXAN husband ate with us and also raved about it. Definitely a must see/eat the next time I get to Arkansas to visit my Dad! read more

We have eaten bbq in several cities in several states, including Kansas City several times, Austin, Houston, etc... and this BBQ is without question at the top of our list. Franklins in Austin would be the only place I would put above this. But that guy is the OG. Wright's is amazing. Even their sides are so good. A lot of the bbq places have very mediocre sides but Wright's sides like the coleslaw, potato salad are my favorite here. So good. The main downside to the place is that it is really busy and you'll be waiting for awhile. That's not really a negative reflection on the place, and I think a lot of BBQ places get to big and can't proper manage their meat. So it's a compromise and Wright's seems to be trying to avoid growing too big like that. Which is great. When we go, we aim for the off hours so we aren't waiting. read more

Wandering around-a less populated, grassy nook area away from the main square throng of prettied, pressed & bike wielding lovelies on a sunny afternoon, my eyes beheld a lovely patio with plentiful picnic benches! Slightly more than toasty and kitten heels beginning to mar my pedicured feet, I spun left & landed in a pleasantly cool, cute, sparkling atmosphere where although all I was aiming for was water, cold, crisp white wine & a snack; I came away with so much more! Friendliest guy on the planet surged in to assist & I am remiss for forgetting his name BUT, splendid in beyond service delivery, managing up the team, the food & making you feel at home. I meagerly muttered I wanted a snack & asked about heir Mac & cheese. With swift grace, expedient yet masterful innovation, we collaborated (really all his suggestions) & crafted their creamy, big shelled Mac with fresh & lovely pico de Gallo, three in moist, smoked pulled pork & a smattering of their spicy BBQ sauce & that SNACk was pure bliss in a bowl!!!!!!!! Ample addendums to this story would include the provision of a free, cute Wright's BBQ koozie for my chilled hibiscus cider! (See pic) A sample of their sumptuous, fork fall apart smoked brisket.... Oh & the view of the lovely blossoming white tree pictured outside the window. (Not Magnolia but, heady fragrant) I will be back, write down everyone's names & sit on the patio this time unless a tempest invades!!! Don't believe the hype. Average service and cold food. First the order taker brought the wrong food to us. When we did get our food, after another 20 minutes, which tells me they didn't put the order in, it was cold. All we had was the sandwiches, it's not that difficult. The buns we cold and not toasted like I asked. I don't know why you would ever serve buns cold right out of the bag.
