I watched management verbally abuse a mentally handicapped man that worked there but was not paid by the dealership (when I started I was told I was supposed to pay him out of my own pocket) The amount that the salespeople paid him added up to well below minimum wage for the hours that he put in. On one occasion I watched management/Owner physically abuse this handicapped man. I put a call into DCF to do what I can to help protect him. While employed there I had a loaded firearm pointed at me by one of my supervisors. I watched the same man hold a knife to one of the other managers neck one day. Both of these As a joke... but those situations aren't exactly funny. The man that did this is not a bad person, but because of the environment that's been allowed to foster, if John North isn't corrected soon I truly believe someone could be hurt. I've also seen management lie directly to customers on multiple occasions to sell a unit or to finance a unit in house(to make more money). And I myself also know of at least one specific customer that Finance was urged to illegally sign the customers name on loan documents. I don't believe that this is uncommon practice at John North Ford, and if I'm not mistaken is considered fraud. I myself felt wronged, they had some other business practices that weren't necessarily illegal but did take money from the salespeople. I also heard plenty of racial slurs and people talked about poorly because they didn't have money to buy. I am hopeful that someone will see this and by me speaking out we can actually have a little change in the in the world.

The entire buying process was so easy! The car had a couple of little items I wanted repaired (small crack in windshield, extra key) and Chad readily agreed to handle both of my requests. He got the car detailed, installed four new tires, ordered a key, and made an appointment for the windshield. Two days later, I drove off the lot in my new (used) Honda with a smile and my nerves intact. I'm staying off the big lots that charge $300-$500 for transfer fees and sticking with Rueschhoffs from now on.

Found out that, because I was paying cash and had no trade in, I would have to pay an extra $2000 above their so called best price. Their so called best price is not the price at all but an artificially low number that they then presumably make back through high finance charges and low trade in prices. I want a dealer who is in the business of providing quality cars and selling them at transparent, competitive prices not a dealer who is playing games and trying to make money through back door methods. Once I understood how they were operating, I asked them to simply give me the out the door price so I could make a decision. They wanted me to sign an agreement to buy the car in order to get the out the door price. I, of course, refused and they did eventually provide it to me, the same as their so-called market price (not their best price) plus administrative fees as shown on their website. So why not just tell me that in the first place? I did not buy the vehicle and will not be going back. To their credit, if you look at the information on their website, it is evident how they price their vehicles and that the so-called best price is an artificial low price that they make up through financing and the trade in. So I cannot say they are dishonest but the overall experience was one that gives used car dealership a bad name. In the past couple of years, I have purchased two used vehicles from other dealerships, both small-town dealerships that are not in the financing business. In both cases, I was pleased with the experience. They didn't try to sell me anything, just answered my questions. In both cases I had done my homework and the prices listed were fair and, in both cases, they gave me a better price since I was paying cash and had no trade in. Briggs could learn something from them.

We liked it and asked what rates they thought we could get. They asked if it would be alright if they looked up our credit scores and we said yes. Then we were there for almost two hours, and then they handed us a phone to talk to some guy in California about signing a loan agreement and lease that night! We said we had not wanted to apply for loans, just get an estimate on interest rates. We had to tell the man on the phone five times we didn't want to sign anything. Now for the past week we've been receiving letters in the mail denying us loans from companies all over the country, all for different amounts. When I called to complain the "manager" was very rude and claimed he had informed us they were applying for these loans when they hadn't. These are terrible people to deal with. In addition, their vehicles are overpriced, and they allow their employees to borrow them and drive them around whenever they want, running up the miles. The vehicle we test drove had crumbs all over in it because, as the employee said, she was driving her kids around in it because it had a DVD player inside. Don't waste your time with these people, your credit will be ruined by them.
