Bought a new Ford Raptor R $125,000. They shipped it to me and it arrived with $16,000 in damage. I contacted the dealership for help thinking they would make this right but their response was it wasn't their problem. I need to contact the shipping company that they hired. I recently left JN Ford. While employed there I took a barrage of insults from management. I watched management lie to customers. I watched management verbally abuse a mentally handicapped man that worked there but was not paid by the dealership (when I started I was told I was supposed to pay him out of my own pocket) The amount that the salespeople paid him added up to well below minimum wage for the hours that he put in. On one occasion I watched management/Owner physically abuse this handicapped man. I put a call into DCF to do what I can to help protect him. While employed there I had a loaded firearm pointed at me by one of my supervisors. I watched the same man hold a knife to one of the other managers neck one day. Both of these As a joke... but those situations aren't exactly funny. The man that did this is not a bad person, but because of the environment that's been allowed to foster, if John North isn't corrected soon I truly believe someone could be hurt. I've also seen management lie directly to customers on multiple occasions to sell a unit or to finance a unit in house(to make more money). And I myself also know of at least one specific customer that Finance was urged to illegally sign the customers name on loan documents. I don't believe that this is uncommon practice at John North Ford, and if I'm not mistaken is considered fraud. I myself felt wronged, they had some other business practices that weren't necessarily illegal but did take money from the salespeople. I also heard plenty of racial slurs and people talked about poorly because they didn't have money to buy. I am hopeful that someone will see this and by me speaking out we can actually have a little change in the in the world. read more

Wow. Just wow. In November 2012 my father purchased a 2013 Ford Fiesta for me as a going away to college gift. It was purchased at the Ford dealership in Ottawa, and I then moved to Emporia to go to school in April 2013. Everything was fine until a month or so ago when my car start shuddering when it would shift upon acceleration. I know very little about cars, but I'm pretty sure it's the transmission. So I brought it in today (4/9/14, I'm sitting in the waiting room, and these people are nice as hell. Like... woah. When I walked in I walked in to the dealership area, which you have to walk through to get to the service area. A man greeted me right away and asked how he could help, and I expected he would be disappointed when I told him I was there for service and not to purchase a car. Nope, he couldn't have cared less that I wasn't purchasing a car. He asked my name, introduced himself, shook my hand, and walked me to the service area, thanking me before leaving to go back to the front. The man checked me in quickly when I told him my name, and he remembered my car and the issue from our conversation two days before. He told me it would be about an hour and a half to do diagnostic on the transmission and engine, then explained everything that would happen once diagnosed. I'm literally sitting in the waiting room, enjoying a free hot chocolate and bag of popcorn, and they could tell me I have to stay here all day and I wouldn't care. The employees are laughing and having a good time, which I think is great, while still getting their work done. Seriously, I can't rave enough about this place. I'll update when I leave and/or when my car is fixed (which they still treat me like a queen even though this work is being done under warranty), but I expect my opinion of this place won't change. read more

Recently purchased a 2007 GMC Envoy Denali from this dealership. Day after delivery TPMS came on and discovered a nail in the tire. Notified the dealership they told me it could have happened anywhere. OK. A week after that my Envoy starts having a metal on metal squeaking noise. A day later I notice the noise it starts shuddering during braking situations. Turns out both rear brake pads are gone and rotors are now warped. Both front pads almost gone as well. I started out going to John North Ford at the request of my daughter, who was at that time a senior at Emporia State University, looking to buy the graduation present I had promised her years earlier. We met Adrian (who asked to be called "A"), a very friendly salesperson, and we looked at the Ford Focus my daughter had seen in the online ad. My daughter did not like the Focus, so A showed us a Nissan Versa. We ended up buying the car after nearly an hour of discussing the details, and the experience was very pleasant. So much so, in fact, that 4 months later, I returned to buy myself a car there. The service department is equally as friendly there, and they do very good work. I have had my car in for service several times before and have had great service. This time was different. I was on a waiting list for a loaner vehicle for 2.5 weeks since the repairs would be extensive and require them to keep it over night. I finally called them because my car finally quit and wouldn't start at all (starter issue)and I was told I was next in line but 1 (they only have 2 loaners) hadn't come back yet so I was SOL. I had to call in to work and the next morning had my car towed to the dealership. By then a loaner was in for me to use. I was told I had to have the loaner back in 2 days whether or not my car was done because it was promised to someone else. Umm I waited 2.5 weeks, why wasn't whoever had it then told it was promised to someone else?!? They gave them 2.5 weeks but gave me 2 days. Whatever, fine. The next morning around noon they called me and told me they needed the car back right then and they had made a mistake on when they needed it. I explained to him that I work 3rd shift and it was the middle of my night and asked if I could bring it in around 5p when I got up. I was then told how I should never have had it in the first place because I had bought the car from a dealer in Wichita, not them. Really?! He knew I work 3rd shift and would be waking me up and HE is getting an attitude with ME over HIS mistake?! If I would have known that 2.5 weeks prior I wouldn't have waited so long to get the repairs done! I got up and took their loaner back in the middle of my night and with 3/4 tank of gas even though it was given to me with less than a 1/4, missing out on sleep because I live 20 miles north of Emporia. Not happy and will NOT be taking my car back to them again! If you didn't buy the car from them don't take it to their service department if you're needing a loaner because they won't tell you until you're in it that they can't give you a loaner and then you're just screwed!!!! read more

I couldn't agree with the previous reviews more! These people were outstanding! I recently broke down while passing through emporia. The staff at John North Ford were fantastic! They helped arrange a tow truck and were so friendly during such a stressful time. They even took my family and I to a nearby hotel and picked up is the next day. I called to inquire about a pre-owned F-150 I had looked at on another Internet board. While on hold I checked their website to make sure the model was still in stock and it was. After several minutes of being left on hold I finally spoke with a guy named John Carlson. The guy did not have a clue about the truck, he was rude. I asked to be transferred to another salesperson that could answer my questions and told me to hold. You guessed it; he never transferred me. I finally hung up. Frustrated, I browsed their website more to find the GM so that I could complain about my experience. Guess what? John Carlson is the GM. If the GM manages this dealership this poorly what is he teaching his salespeople to do to buyers? Not Good! read more
