Another fabulous appointment yesterday with the Wrigleyville team! Surprisingly, it was the first time I met Eizen the hygienist, and like the others, he did an amazing job with superb attention to detail. One of the things I like best about Dr. T. and her team is that they will observe and discuss potential issues while taking a less invasive approach. My only sadness is that I am moving to Florida and will be further away, but I have already made my next appointment for when I return to visit Chicago! read more

I called this office for a second opinion. After asking my questions, I was then placed on a real 4-minute hold. Then I was redirected to a new person without my knowledge, left to explain myself again. She started setting the appointment. Wait for it!!!!! After all this time wasted, she told me they charge a $100 deposit to secure a dental appointment. This is just a lot of deception and bait and switch going on in the dental industry these days. It is really sad that some of these dental offices are in the cash business instead of the dental health business. SHAME ON YOU!!! read more

I went to this dentist for two years. The doctors are wonderful. The front office staff is terrible. After nonchalantly telling me that two dental implants were going to cost me $14,000, the front desk person offered no help at all other than handing me a brochure. She seemed to hate her job. The biggest issue just happened though. I'm (currently) in a great deal of pain with a tooth issue. I called last week and they said they'd check to get me in. I never got a call back. Of any kind. Upon returning from a work trip a week later, I called today and she barely apologized. It's really too bad. I liked the dentists here. But now I have to find a new one. read more

Honestly I'd be weary of this place! They always gave me painful shots for "numbing" and only cleaned half my mouth one time and told me to come back another day to clean the second half (so they could bill insurance twice...). They also told me I had a cavity and had to come back to get it fixed but I just went to a different dentist and he just said I have no cavities! So unless it disappeared on its own, this place is not being fully truthful in order to get people coming back for more appointments so they pay more money! Rude and dishonest! I had a great visit today, went out of my way from rivergrove to come here since I heard only good things. They have a great front desk where Ola made me feel at home while waiting for a great cleaning from Eizen and later on 3 cavities done by Dr.Patel and her assistant Krystyna who did an amazing job making the whole experience feel very comfortable even giving me an extra shot to numb my mouth when I felt even the slightest discomfort. I was drawn in by the promise of holistic care & the connection with the Nancy Fallon & Wise Traditions Weston Price foundation. But I have found the practice to be very conventional & extremely overpriced. They switched doctors on me without asking. And every time I have an issue I get referred out to some 'specialist'. The last time I went in, one of my implants was loose & giving me a lot of pain. The Dr. told me she couldn't pull it, so I had to wait for over a month to see the specialist they recommended & it took him literally 3 seconds to pull the tooth & then charged my over $1000. Dr. Teplitsky is distracted, overly busy, & doesn't seem to have a grasp of my overall case. When I went in recently for a cleaning, the hygienist said it looked like one of my teeth has a crack. When the Dr. finally came to do the 'exam' after the cleaning she again said I should go see a specialist to get a special x-ray, no mention of treatment options etc... I have tried to stay with this practice since it all sounds great on paper, I even recommended it to my daughter, & she has had the same experience of indifference, but after this last time I'm done. Find a dentist who likes being a dentist, not one who runs a high-priced business using the word holistic. read more

I live in the far western suburbs and had an emergency with an infected tooth that caused my left side of my face to swell. I had an appointment made with another holistic dentist for the end of November. They were not able to fit me in as an emergency. Wrigleyville took me in the same day! In today's medical environment getting a same day appointment is like winning the lottery even if you are a regular patient. I was so surprised and quickly got dressed to make the 1 hr. and 15 minute drive into Chicago from Oswego. They did a thorough exam, gave me some additional information regarding my teeth and gave me a script for antibiotics with another appointment on Tuesday! Despite the distance I will probably keep them as my regular dentist because they were able to fit me in despite not knowing me from any other dentist. So very very thankful...my facial swelling has gone done 50% already. Those that are close to them are so very lucky to have such a great dental practice in their neighborhood! read more

They aren't in network for any insurance...just know that. Cleanings with evaluation are about $200. I came to Wrigleyville Dental wanting to discuss mouth health and connection to autoimmune disease and this was one of the few holistic dentists I could find in Chicago. Dr. Julia is great. She immediately noticed I had a tongue tie and this can cause teeth grinding and a laundry list of other things. This is the first dentist I have seen to try to fix a problem rather than put a band aid on it...give me a night guard. So I paid thousands of dollars to get special x-rays with a 360 degree of my mouth and get the tongue tie corrected. If I could do it all over again...I wouldn't have done it. I haven't seen much change since the surgery. I have much larger range of motion of my tongue but I'm not sure if I still grind my teeth...Dr. Julia has recommended I go see a specialist as there is some scar tissue and I she thinks my tongue could be released more. I have opted to not do this as 1) It was the most painful thing I have ever experienced (yes they numb your tongue but I felt searing pain through my jaw...pressure in my ears...i can't even explain it) and it took over two hours. If I remember correctly it was like 3-4 hours when I was told it wouldn't be longer than 2. 2) I haven't seen much improvement in my symptoms 3) I have been going to physical therapy to learn how to swallow appropriately and have correct tongue posture. The physical therapist recommended I tape my mouth at night...honestly...this was the game changer for me in getting more restful sleep...and it's not very expensive. I was still a fan of Wrigleyville and went there for a recent cleaning. As I was leaving my bill was $68 which was strange as I usually don't pay for cleanings as my insurance covers it. It was explained to me that my insurance doesn't cover their services. I then asked oh well who does as it's open season and I'll just switch...and I was told...no one. Today I got another bill from Wrigleyville for $103 as my insurance covered nothing. So I check my insurance and I get two cleanings covered (I pay nothing) per year but that since this provider isn't "in network" nothing is covered. Is this my fault...yes...I should have asked how much my cleaning is..but I've had the same insurance for 15 years and have never paid for a cleaning so I was in complete sticker shock. I'd highly recommend Wrigleyville if you don't have insurance and have to pay for cleanings. So I sat with a delima of do I just cancel my insurance next open season and come here for cleanings or keep my insurance and go to a new dentist. I'm going to find a new dentist. :( read more

I'm really happy with my experience here. I had my amalgam fillings removed and a deep cleaning. This was all done over the past year. All of my experiences have been great, even pleasant! After the filling removals I had several issues that were unfolding, one of them required a crown. This is not inexpensive work, but my insurance covered large portions of it. I highly recommend the entire team for those who are looking for state of the art dentistry. And, everyone there is simply adorable, skilled and kind hearted! read more

Expect a large bill, even if you have dental insurance. They over charge and then stick you with whatever insurance has declared is beyond a reasonable charge - for basic things like fillings. No advance notice either. Just a surprise bill and total unwillingness to negotiate. If they at least presented the charges and what the expected out-of-pocket costs (after insurance) would be up-front, customers could make an informed decision. I'm sure they would lose more customers if they did that, however. [UPDATE] Of their own accord, they resubmitted my bill to my insurance and received an additional settlement of nearly $200. read more

I can't say enough good things about Wrigleyville Dental. The whole staff is warm and caring and addressed all of my questions. I'm quite anxious about needles but the staff and doctors made sure I was taken good care of (weighted blanket for the win!). I was so happy to learn that they are a holistic practice, which I didn't even know existed in dentistry before. I'm (almost) looking forward to going back to get the second half of my deep cleaning done and I know I'm in good hands. I called on a Thursday after work with a toothache so bad I was in tears. It was so bad I couldn't sleep. The receptionist got me an appointment the next day at 11 AM as an emergency. From both of the receptionists, to the dental assistants, to the dentist herself , I felt comfortable right off the bat. My dentist was Dr Silva and she was absolutely fantastic. I will review again when I have my stitches removed in two weeks but I am very happy with the results. I came from the southwest suburbs but I promise it was worth the drive. Save yourself the time looking anywhere else- this place is amazing . First of all, before work appointments is the best thing on the planet. FREE parking is even better . Finally, Dr. Teplitsky and her staff could not be more kind and genuinely nice . I started going here for a semi emergency wisdom teeth issue , and Dr. Teplitsky fixed it quickly and efficiently . Next I came back for a clean and Invisalign, and from coordinating with the patient coordinators (Maria and Jennifer) , to the hygienists helping me (I forget their names, a guy with a few arm tattoos and dark brown hair.. Fernando possibly ?, and woman with dark brown hair who has Invisalign herself). Her staff is extremely personable and you can tell they really like their job, which is refreshing to see. Overall , save yourself some trial and error like I did finding a dentist downtown and go here! I've moved away from lakeview to LP and now Old Town, and will still drive to see Dr. Teplitsky and her staff ! read more

I live in Chicago, but I work in Austin and travel there often. I never found a reason to start seeing a dentist here until today. I broke a filling and needed it repaired. Travel being restricted meant going to Austin was not an option. I did a quick search on iaomt.org to find a biological dentist here in Chicago and I landed on this place. Dr. Levy was amazing. The clinic is working out new protocols in light of recent events, but that didn't stop the kindness and caring I received. Once in the procedure, Dr. Levy was a dream administering the anesthesia. I barely noticed there was a needle in my mouth. The procedure went off without a hitch. Finding the right dentist can be tricky, especially one that I'm comfortable with. My experience today has given me the confidence to make the switch and I know I'll be in good hands. read more

Unfortunate front office experience. My family has gone to Wrigleyville Dental for a few years now. The dentists are very good and I appreciate their service, but the front desk/office manager refused to listen to concerns we had about billing. It was absolutely terrible communication. We did not get calls back from the office when we called to try to clarify some concerns. When WE CALLED back, the front office manager simply didn't let us speak and could not have been more rude. I decided to give this office a try based on a recommendation...I was surprised that it had such few yelp reviews (1) and it was a negative one... I don't think anyone loves going to the dentist, but I feel like the staff at Wrigleyville made the experience as comfortable as possible. Whether its the lavender aromatherapy in the rooms or extremely courteous staff - it was a great experience. Time flew by and I was entertained the whole time. Only negative would be that (even though I didnt feel it at the time) my appointment time for a 6 months check-up was actually pretty long. Over an hour an a half. I sought out Dr. Bernice Teplitsky when I read an article she wrote for the now defunct Mindful Metropolis magazines. She wrote about curing cavities. I didn't even think that was possible. I made an appointment with her before she opened her private practice. The service can be described as compassionate and empathetic. I receive follow up calls from the doctor about treatment, which I have never received from any other dentist. I feel cared for and pampered as another reviewer said. All the hygienists are thorough and they actively educate you about improving your dental care. They tell you what they are doing, how and why it is being done. This puts me at ease and makes me feel in control of my dental care. I asked Dr. Teplitsky about her article and how we could use an integrative approach to my dental treatment. She suggested a diet low in processed foods and sugars, and high in fatty acids, fish oils, and minerals. She discussed how cavities can develop within weeks, but can also shrink in weeks. No one had ever told me that. Why let your cavities get out of control if it only takes a change in diet. I also learned that eating foods high in acidity, including fruit, damages enamel, which is being talked about more lately in the media. All of this information seems like it should be common knowledge, but it's not. So make sure to schedule your next dental appointment at Wrigleyville Dental. Though they charge in full up front, they do accept insurance. Cleanings are only $90, which is on the low end for the City of Chicago. read more

I don't write a ton of reviews, but do want to go out of my way for a business I really appreciate. I'm still finding myself shocked at loving a dental office, but this one is the best! The people I've worked with there have been really friendly, and down to earth. Dr. Silva has gone out of her way to talk to me and answer questions in a thorough, caring way. The techs have also been great. I've never seen a staff take the amount of time and effort this one has to make sure you are being treated in the best possible way for your health, and the work they do has always left me feeling relieved and happy with the results! As an aside, they use Bach flower essences to calm nerves before an appointment, and vitamin C to help the numbing subside when you are done. There is even a TV with Netflix, etc, so if you are in a position where you can watch a show, it helps to distract from the procedure as well. Score! read more

I love the new office, and they have validated parking at Whole Foods right across the street which is a bonus in the city! The office staff is friendly and helpful. Dr. Teplitski is my primary doctor and I like her chair-side manner. I appreciate the office's holistic approach to dentistry. Four stars is for the available hours. I know trips to the dentist aren't necessarily frequent, but when I've needed to have unplanned appointments, the available hours have been hard to work with. I start work before they do, and end work after they do on all days except for Wednesday, so it's been tough to get in. Though when its an emergency, I'll give the office credit for doing their best to fit me in!! Someone said that they were trying to push products on them. I have not had this experience. I've needed a bite guard for years and they have never pressured me to buy it. I approached Dr. T. on my last appointment and asked her to make me one, but she never pressured - just explained to me and showed me evidence of what I was doing to my teeth my clenching. This is the best Dentist office in Chicago!!! *They are extremely thorough in their explanation of what is going on in your mouth and why you need whatever work you need done on your mouth. They even showed me the microscopic bacteria swimming around that needed to go away or else I was likely to become periodontal! *They are all incredibly friendly and put you at ease! I get high anxiety about the dentist and work on my month, and they were very understanding of this and thoughtful. I have been to other detest offices in Chicago that have been rude and uncaring. *The cleanings are pleasant...yes, I said pleasant! They do not take long, they are careful not to hurt you too much, they take their time, yet are efficient, they tell you what they are doing as they do it, and he CARES about you keeping your teeth and gums healthy!!! *They walk you through any and all charges and what the insurance will and will not pay for. They will work with you and help you truly understand. They will call your insurance, rather than telling you to "contact your insurance" which is what I used to hear at other dentist offices. *They are just good, kind, lovely people!! They remember you, they ask you how you are doing and genuinely care to hear the response! They get you in early if you arrive early! They smile at you, they are sweet and professional, but with a polite and hometown, known you my whole life presence! I think they are the bees knees!! read more

I just had my new patient exam and I am so pleased with my visit. It had been over 7 years since my last dental visit so I was feeling very nervous and dreading my visit. All of the staff were beyond friendly and helpful. The staff, especially Kourtni, made me feel comfortable and at ease the entire time. I had a chipped tooth and needed a filling, both were done in the same day. The staff were great about quoting me the pricing before hand. I hadn't been to the dentist in a few years as I am always reluctant to start with a new Dentist. My previous dentist didn't accept my insurance so I finally decided that I find a new one. I was referred to Wrigleyville Dental and couldn't be happier. Turns out I need a lot of work but they were very detailed explaining everything and showing me pictures of what needs to be done and which issues to address first. Again as someone who isn't a fan of the dentist they kept checking in to make sure I was as comfortable as possible the entire visit. I've never had a Female dentist before have you? Well if you measure your dentist by compassion, and personal concern you'll be happy here. I didn't consciously choose her, my old dentist retired and Dr. T was his personal choice to take over where he left off. I couldn't be happier. Put it this way, I loved the work of the last Dentist, I just was never compelled to review the old guy. To Dr. Bs credit, I found myself comparing the new work with my older work (which I consider nothing short of perfect) and was pleased to see it matched.
