WRM was on time and professional. John made some necessary minor adjustments to the garage door and installed our new opener in no time.

No, just repair or replace the opener. He repaired it and everything worked fine. Wrote him a check for his service. Last week the spring above the door broke, so the door wouldn't lift. I called him and left a voicemail, and he responded quickly. I explained my problem and right away, I get the question "do you want a new door?" He then told me "his guy" has the truck and it's in Indiana, but he can't get it back because his guy was in Florida. He then asked if I could pick him up. Finally, he said he could get a ride and would be over the next day. He arrived in a sedan with another man and they were able to lift the door so I could remove my vehicle. We agreed that my door was old and it should be replaced. He gave me a quote as well as model numbers for doors on a website. While writing up the invoice, he made rude jokes about his daughter... Not sure why. I agreed to give him 2/3 down and the other 1/3 upon job completion. I asked if he accepted credit cards, but he wanted cash. I asked if a check was okay, and he reluctantly said yes. He accepted the check and departed with his employee(?). I received a call a bit after asking for cash. He needed cash to start the job. Red flags are popping up in my head, but I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt since he did a decent job previously, so I met up with him and gave him $200 cash in good faith to get the door ordered. This was on a Wednesday. He said install would be Monday or Tuesday. Monday came and went, no update, no communication. Midday Tuesday I called and left a voicemail. No response. Tuesday evening I called again, asking for an update. He said he was still in possession of the check and asked if I could take back the check and give him cash. More red flags. I told him I'd call him the following day with my decision. When I called him today I told him I'd like to pick up the check, but he said he was in Indiana. I offered to drive out to get it, and to cancel the job. I also asked for the cash to be returned, but he refused, saying he charges $195 for service calls, he already paid his guy for the ride and helping him lift the door and "the most I owe you is five bucks." He told me that I'm "already $200 into this job..." His voice grew angrier while he asked if I wanted him to tear up the check, and then he said he could deposit it today to get the job going. Why not deposit it the day I gave it to him? Why hold it for a week? Then he said something about the door itself costing less than the check was worth... (Was he trying to get my approval to keep the check and do the install for less money?) I asked again if he could return the check today and he hung up on me. It is now after 6 pm. Still no check, so the bank put a stop on it. Cash, cash, cash. Shady as hell. Very poor attitude. Very poor work ethic. Very poor business practices. I can't give zero stars, but he helped me get my vehicle out of my garage, so there's the one star review.

Robert's Garage Door personnel were efficient and professional in repairing my garage door…read more This morning my garage door would only open two inches and stop. All the do- it- yourself usual fixes failed. I called Robert Garage Door. The woman who answered the call explained the process, indicated there was no cost for an evaluation and gave me window time frames that a technician would be available. I asked for an evaluation. Within that given time frame, a technician, Nick, called to advise me that he would be arriving in 15 minutes. Nick was personable and professional. He explained the issue that was occurring with my garage door, recommended a solution, and advised me of the cost of the solution. In response to my question, he gave me an estimate of the time required to complete the repairs. In spite of the fact that Nick was working in a hot garage on a day when the heat index was over 100 degrees, he stayed focused and completed the job with his time estimate and for the fee quoted. I respect that man's tenacity and work ethic. Nick was also good at answering my questions about maintaining my garage door. There is nothing good about having a garage door that malfunctions. But once my garage door was broken, dealing with the personnel at Robert's Garage Doors made getting back to normal life as easy as possible. Based on my experience today, I highly recommend this company.
