So yesterday he showed up with an expensive piece of equipment to properly diagnose the issue, and having done so, brought in another expensive piece of equipment to fix the problem. He was there for over two hours, and along the way, he mentioned what he normally charges for use of that equipment because of what it cost him. I was OK with it; I was just happy to have the problem finally fixed. But when he was done, he said that he wasn't happy about the past "misdiagnoses" and I shouldn't have to pay for them, and he ended up charging me about a third of what I was expecting. When I offered to meet him halfway, he said, "Sorry, I've already entered it into the system, nothing I can do." I can't promise that you'll get price breaks like I got on this occasion, but I can promise that you won't get ripped off, and that you'll get excellent service.
