We had a pipe crack in our kitchen sink in our basement 3 years ago and we have asked them to take a look and they digger up our foundation and lay down new pipe and they suggested us to install sum pump just in case there's any leaks. They came and completed the job pretty quickly. Recently we start noticing there's drain flies in our basement and I've opened up our sum pump and did some research there wasn't even check valve installed properly. Recently we called another plumber and thought it was our sum pump issue to take a look. Sure enough the leak wasn't fix in the first place and now we have to have another company remove the sum pump and dig up the concrete to replace the leaks. I won't suggest this company to any one. This has been headache and we have to spend more money to fix the problem that was supposed to be fixed by them. read more

These guys were great. We were expecting foundation repairs to be very expensive, but they quoted just over $3K to repair 19 posts. They were reliable with scheduling and three guys came out and knocked out the job in a day. I crawled under the house and checked things out and everything looked solid. We could already tell that the floors creak less when walking around the house. It makes a big difference to have properly supported supports rather than hanging piles. Had an issue last winter with water intrusion into my basement, courtesy of the "atmospheric river" BS that is now a part of Seattle life, and Wu Construction was recommended by my realtor. I interviewed 5 other contractors, almost all of whom tried to sell me either expensive exterior french drains ($30K+) or interior drains, which would would have required ripping an entire kitchen out of my refinished basement and tearing up concrete. Greg T from Wu Construction gave me a quote for yard and downspout drainage that was half of what the next cheapest contractor quoted. He suggested a staged approach to the problem (perfect for the budget-minded among us). The crew arrived on time and did a great job installing the drainage system. I was crossing my fingers and keeping an eye on it every day, but no more issues through the whole winter! We chose Wu Construction to perform the work. They came in on budget and performed the work slightly ahead of schedule, cleaned everything when they were completed, and the foreman and workers were super friendly and professional. Wu Construction installed our drainage system / french drain about 6 months ago in the summer. Since the weather was dry, we really didn't have an appropriate test rain until last Sunday when half the streets in Seattle were flooding. Our previously leaky basement stayed bone-dry throughout the storm. I only gave four stars because they didn't warn us / discuss with us about how to deal with trees that need to be relocated if they are within the dig zone. We lost a very nice, very old Camellia tree. :( All in all though - we are very happy customers. :) read more

We had some very dirty and wet work needed in our crawl space... installing a sump pump and drainage system. The crew from Wu construction was better than we could have expected. The men were polite, considerate and on time.... actually a little early! They worked so well together, we heard some teasing and laughter between them, but they always had a smile on their faces, even as they were crawling out of the mud. They cleaned up every day, taking all the debris they got from under the house, and they even pulled out some old insulation and ducting that they didn't have to, but willingly did everything I asked them to do. We also had some other downspout and gutter work done, and they put down tarps, then the dirt that was dug, and were gentle with the plants they had to displace... I just can't say enough wonderful things about their work, and the way they worked together. It was almost like a dance group or something like that, at times. When they were toting rocks from the back of the truck, two men scooped the rocks, another grabbed the buckets and ran to the other men waiting under the house, they moved so quickly it was impressive to watch. Thomas, the VP of the company was very responsive with emails and updates and I was very impressed with his professionalism. They all are a "10" in my book. read more

I bought a foreclosure property in Renton and the previous owner took many shortcuts but the most disruptive one was the attempted conversion of the garage into living space. Did not properly seal or waterproof the foundation and failed to install a proper drain to move the water away from the property. After dealing with an angry tenant when I was surprised by the water entry I called WU construction and had them come out to look at the issue. They installed material to push water away from the foundation and installed a proper drain along the length of the garage and now after our rainiest season I have zero water entering my rental property. They showed up when they said they would, performed all the work and cleaned up after themselves. Every time it rained I used to wake up stressed and awaiting that dreaded call from the tenant complaining about water entering that room. They completed a really thorough job, replacing the entire substructure in the crawl space with new supporting beams and insulation. I just can't thank Greg and Thomas enough for their services. We bought a house and soon realized that there was some seepage in the crawl space after the first rain of the season. As first time home-owners and new to the joys of owning house we knew little as to what the issue could have been. We called a handful of companies and the advise we received was either a large sum of money ($1K+) for isolating why the seepage was happening or to install a sump-pump (again $8K - $10K). Only Greg from "Wu Construction" was of the opinion that sure we can install sump-pump but then that would be focusing on the effect and not the cause. You should fix the cause else down the road you may get other problems. Although he did not isolate the problem, but he advised how to go about isolating the problem. And once the problem was isolated they came in and fixed the yard drainage costing over 50% less than installation of sump-pump. Thomas and his crew came in did a very professional work involving digging, installation of new drain pipes, cutting concrete where required and then fixing it once the installation was complete. These guys are very confused I talked to the guy on the phone about me needing a new dry-well . We exchanged several e-Mails about what I need . It sounded like that is one of their specialty . So I was exited to have found someone to take a look & and do the work . Then 1 week later 2 hours before the scheduled appointment . I guy called me skeptical sounding asking what I needed to have looked at. What ? This was already discussed in detail over e-Mail . He then said in a very condescending way that is not what we do . We do drains and then let them run of all the water at the end of the property . Actually that is not how you do it to code/regulation . If your street has a storm water sewer , then you supposed to connect all your drains to it dude . In my case I do not have that and according to my city I need to build a dry-well. He spent 40 minutes inspecting my home and determined that only minor work may or may not be needed . Victor did not charge me for his time and explained my issue. He did not promote a big project. Another company determined that one side of my home needed to be jacked up for $7,700. I will be referring others to Victor. read more

Called regarding a crack in my foundation. Wu Construction asked me to take a picture of it and send to them. I did, they said they'd look it over and call me. They never called back. I could possibly understand if the crack was not substantial, but crack was substantial. Since calling Wu I've had two companies come out reaffirming crack was substantial and house needed anchoring and potential jacking up. Thank goodness for companies that are on the ball! read more

Our crawl space got flooded in 2016. Water was removed by other contractors. But construction Wu did a big project to remodel crawl space to prevent future flood.. Now our crawl space got flooded again. I contacted them to check if it is caused by the work they did. They told me they will charge $575 to check. I understand that they're very busy. But if the flood is caused by default of their work, they should do a quick check. Anyway I am pretty disappointed at their service. read more

Living in a rainy city like Seattle, nothing can be more frustrated than dealing with water issue during the dark winter months (: glad I made the smartest choice by choosing Wu Construction, the company you can trust and rely on, and they know how to do things and do it right. My house's backyard connects to a golf course with a slope which needs a strong drainage system at the lowest level. When I purchased the house, it came with a so-called life time warranty for the interior drainage system built by another local drainage company (very sizable and "popular" company). But the system failed with flaws which can't be fixed. After a few attempts and contacts with them, I lost the confidence in the company completely and puzzled on what to do next. Luckily, a real estate guru/developer recommended Wu Construction to me. Wu Construction can handle the complex situation with the right approach and get the things done in the extremely efficient and reliable manner. The solution proposed by the company will work in the long way instead of a short or temporary fix proposed by another company. Victor (the owner of the Wu Construction with multi decades experience) had designed a new drainage system for me, with a bigger pipe and the right slope. Last but not least, did I mention the very competitive price? To honor the warranty on the newly built interior drainage system, Wu Construction had even built a few downspout drainages in my backyard to help deviate water from roof and gutters, free of charge! The company's warranty is a TRUE warranty which can give me a good night sleep without worrying about the water problems anymore. My house now is drier than ever. The air quality of the basement had gone much better than before. Even the lawn is not as muddy as before. Very happy. I had never wrote a review on yelp. I used this company for fixing my crawl space. However, they did not even schedule a final check with me to show what had been completed before they asked for money from me. I told them if they could send me the pictures of the finished work, it would be fine. Then they were super rude. They said they would send me the pictures in the first place. But then they refused to do so later. Never use them for anything if you do not want to bear with their rude and unprofessional attitudes towards customers. read more

Greg came to my house to look into and discuss our sump pump system as well as drainage piping for all our downspouts to give an estimate. I've had another company suggest rework to my sump pump system for over $15k, but after talking through with Greg we determined that no work really needs to take place, since the system is working as it should. Be cautious. My realtor had them do an estimate to address inadequate pier posts in the crawl space of a house I was going to purchase, and some exclusion work ,clean up and new insulation. My inspector recommended the deck pier blocks be replaced with foundation pier blocks. Wu construction just put in more deck pier blocks. Now while I suppose this may have been a miscommunication with the number of parties involved, I then found out this type of work requires a permit be pulled, with engineering plans provided to get said permit. They did none of this and I ended up having to go to local authorities myself to clear up this mess. If they had done the project the way it was supposed to be done, legally, and followed the permitting process, then no miscommunication would have occurred. Also, to update, I found the exclusion work to be lacking. Shortly after the initial writing of this review, I found new rat droppings throughout the crawlspace. Close examination revealed lots of gaps they missed, and where they did fill gaps they simply used a spray in foam, which in some places literally disintegrated when you touched it. While my realtor's email to Wu did not receive a response (was also ignored for pier block issue), I did get a response when I sent a text. Wu promised on a couple occasions to go inch by inch and fill the gaps. That was a month and a half ago. Anyway, I have since hired an actual pest control company to do the exclusion properly (they were amazed at the gaps they found), which included removing the foam and blocking the gaps properly with wire, mesh, and cement. read more

Really 4.5 stars but yelp is limited... Result was excellent. Crew was considerate and trustworthy. It was expensive for me, but cheaper than the other bids I got. Communication was not great over email. There were a number of times I wasn't replied to at all or got a partial response. I let them know and they said they'll work on that. -I've included a few photos for this post- If I could give 10 stars to someone, it would be Wu Construction and their team. After one of the most stressful weeks in my life, these guys came in to save the day. Seattle is known for the crazy rain and with the addition of the excessive snow fall, this spelled disaster to our split level home. I came home after work to find that my downstairs had flooded. I had already had another company come out to install a french drain in the back yard, but that was a failure. I called Wu Construction and had Thomas, their manager and estimator come out the next day to take a look at the property. He identified it immediately and gave me a few different options with varying prices. I ended up going with the works, as I did not want to have any more nightmares of leaks and having to wake up every 3 hours in the middle of the night to check on the downstairs. Thomas sent the quote the same day. As my wife and I pondered on doing the work, we had another company come out which presented a crazy estimate to their work. More than double of what Thomas estimated. These guys wanted to put a drainage pipe around the inside perimeter of the house... I find it hard to believe that it would be better to let the water in the house and then drain out. Not a week later, our basement flooded again, and I texted Thomas to start on the work ASAP. His team came out the following Monday and started their work. It took the team 4 full days to complete all of the work and Thomas was very responsive in explaining all of the details on what was to be done. I took a few days off as well as my wife to check up on the work, but would recommend anyone going with Wu Construction, to just stay at work and not waste your vaca days. These guys were trust worthy, and did not need anything. I gave them snacks and water. Offered lunch, but they brought their own. One thing to say is that these guys knew every detail about the job. I had a ton of questions and they were more than willing to stop the work to explain the bits and pieces to me. From the first day, they just let me breath without stressing. It was reassuring knowing that there was a solution to our problem. The team ended up digging about 5 feet down to the foundation all the way around the house. Laying 4in perforated pipe that connected to a solid pipe on the other side of the house running the water all the way out to the street. The perforated pipe was covered with a foot of rocks and a mesh sheet to protect it from the dirt. They even installed drainboard all the way around the entire foundation walls. This is to protect water hitting the foundation. If the water comes near it, the board will guide the water to the pipe. On top of all of that, they ran all of our gutters out to the street as well. This assured us that all the water was going away from the house. Even when it doesn't rain for a few days, water is continuing to run out of the pipe to the street. This just shows how saturated that ground is with all of the water. It might be my OCD kicking in, but I check the pipes at the end of our driveway every day to make sure everything is good. I love that I can visually check that the pipes are operational by just seeing if the water is coming out. Another thing that they did was extend the start of the 4in perforated pipe above ground. This gives us an opening in the future if we ever needed to put a scoop through or fish anything out. I could go on forever with these guys. I wanted to be as thorough as possible because I know the situation I was in when this occurred. And you really do need to do your homework because some companies will try to take advantage of your situation. One last thing, which might be the best part. Their work is under warranty for 15 years! If any water intrudes the house on the areas they worked at, they will come back to fix it. This is also transferable so it can go over to the next home owner. These guys have it all. A must use company for any drainage needs! Thanks for everything Wu Construction! read more

True Professionals! From the first contact, Thomas and his crew were a dream to work with. I think my house must have been built over a river or stream. We had a damp basement with mold. Gross! Thomas responded very quickly to my initial inquiry. After getting a few more estimates (and 3 different plans for the same problem), I felt the most confident with Wu Construction. The estimate was right in line with the other estimates I got. Thomas was patient with my questions (and I'm one of those annoying over-questioners). His experience and expertise were obvious. Thomas was able to squeeze my job in to get it done quickly. They arrived on time on the day of the scheduled work. The work took longer than expected so part of the crew returned the next day to finish. They laid down plastic to cover my carpet and cleaned up so well after the work was done that I think it looked better than before they were here. They all wore masks at all times.
