I've never heard of this place before but was looking for something in the Smithfield area. Arrived around 1 and there was a queue outside. Good thing is they have many tables so no one actually waited too long. Firstly one of the best things was the staff - the waitresses we're just so nice and smiling all the time. It was really appreciated. Had the eggs benedict with crispy bacon. They were Extra good as they were served on toasted brioche. Had the warm chocolate brownie topped hazelnut, the cake was delicious and the creme anglaise was perfect. A very nice place for a relaxed brunch, I will definitely come back! read more

What a busy place! I arrived at 1000 with a meeting scheduled for 1300 and there wasn't really much of a lull at all. They do reservations here - when I walked in there was already a number of reserved signs on tables. Reservations were for big groups but I do wonder if this is the right tactic for a small place like this. As far as I saw though, everyone that came in was seated bar one couple but I'm curious as to if this is the norm. It's situated close to the Four Courts and Smithfield. The place itself is nice and cute. There's great art on the walls and as someone else pointed out, it's flooded with sunlight through those massive windows. Staff are friendly and very smiley - not the most organised bunch I would imagine though! But that's all part of the charm of this neighbourhood cafe. Coffee is fine; the flat white was nothing to rave about and neither is the green tea but it is loose leaf and does come in a cool cast iron tea pot. I had some lunch after my meeting also after looking at what is a pretty good menu. I went for the Halloumi and Black Pudding salad with a honey and mustard vinaigrette. I was really excited about this one but it let me down a but. It was essentially green leaves, deep fried Halloumi and black pudding with a drizzle of dressing. I found it kind of flavourless to be honest so asked for some of the BBQ sauce that they serve with the pulled pork. I think something like this would work a little better - I'm definitely not a chef however. Planning on dropping in for brunch next weekend so hopefully can give it the 5 stars then. read more

The four of us had hake with spinach; lamb shank; burger; vegetarian tajine. Everyone loved their food. Having eaten many an authentic, homemade vegetarian tajine in Morocco, I can say that Wuff really does a great job. My guess is that the tajine is vegan, but I didn't ask. Carrot basil soup was very tasty. Great bread (doesn't come for free though). Salads were standard. Long list of prosecco cocktails. Wine by the bottle and the glass, good beer selection. Reasonably priced menu given the high quality and big portions. Wonderful space and ambiance, very friendly staff. Great for a family dinner or (even better) for a date. High recommend! read more

Had been meaning to try this place for ages as I thought it looked gorgeous. Went for brunch last week and was sadly highly underwhelmed. I got a cappuccino to start which was good. I opted for the veggie breakfast which sounded great - all the usual with the addition of homemade baked beans, beef tomato and veggie sausages-yum! What came out was so disappointing... Maybe it was misguided of me but I expected somewhere like this to make their own veggie sausages, or at least have something of high quality. Nope! They were deep fried logs of cubed carrot, peas and I'm guessing potato. They taste like frozen cheap veggie "sausages" that had been fried. The tomato that arrived was shriveled and small- not a beef tomato. I know this is not a major thing but why make a point of putting it on your menu if it's not true? And then the biggest insult of all - the "homemade baked beans" were from a tin! I easily could have whipped up the very same breakfast at home for a fraction of the cost. I was really annoyed about it so when the waitress came over to ask was everything ok I mentioned that the beans and tomato were not what was described on the menu. She went "ehh I'll go check with the chef" when she returned she gave me a feeble excuse, something about "oh yeah the chef says were getting a new menu so we still have to change that"... Sorry, what? After we left I had a look on yelp and I can see that their menu has been the same for the last few months AND I can see that all of their pictures feature baked beans from a tin, and no beef tomatoes. These are not just buzz words to be thrown on a menu! When we had paid and were walking out the door the waitress half heartedly came up to us and went "oh, sorry about that again!" Which I thought was a bit weird. Anyway I was really disappointed with the experience and probably won't return as a result. read more

I came here a couple of weeks ago for what I thought would be a nice, relaxed meal for two but man was I wrong! When my wife and I came in for the à la carte menu, we were seated right up against a wall that led up the bathrooms (but that was not a problem, a seat is a seat). The area behind the wall was also presumably the servers work station because a couple of them were always there doing something - polishing silverware or glassware or something along though lines. So the servers are there doing their thing when this woman (presumably the owner, Sinead I think her name was) came up and started giving out crazy about the standard of polished silverware. Now maybe I am too simple a man to understand this but, is sacrificing staff relations for some polished silverware really necessary? After this bout of anger, the servers scattered to the floor and this small woman went to her (a business partner maybe? a family member?) and the two proceeded to complain about the staff! Now, granted everyone is allowed give out but do NOT do it within earshot of customers. Overall the atmosphere was not pleasant and they made us feel not wanted. There are some weekend mornings( especially sunday mornings) when the last thing you want to do is cook a breakfast. When you find yourself in this situation and you live in the centre of Dublin, you are almost over whelmed with the choices available to you, even if you plump for the laziest of options and just get a breakfast roll. For many years Brunch was a type of ice cream covered im little biscuity bits and then along came the Celtic Tiger and everyone who was anyone was brunching on a weekend, as friends gathered to nurse their hangover and try to piece together the events of the night before , while consuming various egg dishes or the standard Full Irish. It was also true that if you didnt get lucky the night before, you could count on being screwed when it came to the cost of brunch. So it was such a sunday when , the home cooked breakfast was discounted and it was decided that the Staf of WUFF could take care of our gastronomic needs. WUFF is relatively new to the brunch world options but I had heard some goos reviews and was looking forward to sampling their wares. It was a delightfully sunny sunday morning to stroll along the bank of the liffey , past the Four Courts and Smithfield and then arriving at WUFF. We arrived about 11am and there was already a healty number of customers there. The few tables that were unoccupied , had reserved signs , so I feared we would be unlucky and have to try elsewhere, buth thankfully they could seat us. The Brunch menu is simple enough, with options ranging from Porridge up to The Full Irish. I chose the truffle infused poched eggs with gruyerre cheese and toasted sourdough bread and the other hald went for the full irish. Both dishes were beautifully presented and thankfully tasted just as good. Other half was very impressed with the quality of the rashers and sausage and the baked beans served on the side looked to be smothered in a delisiously deep orangey red coloured tomato sauce. The food was washed down with two glassess of freshly squeezed orange juice and a couple of americanos. The bill excluding tip came to €25 in total but was well worth it and both left feeling satisfied. The dining area was nice and brights a s the midday sun flooded in and washed over the room. The staff were friends and attentive, though perhaps a tiny bit over eager to clear away the plates, though really thats a very minor niggle. WUFF is definatley making the list of venues to return to and I'm looking for ward to trying out the mid week lunch and dinner options. I would make one recommendation though, based on its growing popularity, it may be advisable to make reservations read more

Wuff's staff is so friendly. They accommodated 5 of us with suitcases and even put them in the back for us. Besides their service, their food is delicious. It was very fresh and yummy. Awful experience with this restaurant, I'd advise anyone to think twice before booking a table. Arrived on time for a 9pm reservation to be told our table wasn't ready and if we could come back in 20 mins. 45 mins later still no table. Rude, aggressive, offensive and arrogant treatment by the manager who claimed it wasn't "his" fault but later admitted to giving our table away to a reservation of 2 when 4 people arrived. I have never been treated with such disrespect and poor customer service in my life! Would love to comment on the food but didn't get the opportunity to. For me customer service can make up for average food but in this instance we didn't even get to take our jackets off! Judge for yourself! read more

I've come to love this place more and more, and am swinging by regularly on the weekend these days. There's been a change in personnel lately but the food is still really good. The soup was my choice this (late) morning, and it was proper fresh potato soup served with two slices of really good brown bread and patties of real butter. It's one of the most comfortable places to sit alone with a newspaper or a notebook, and a cosy place to meet friends. There's a few choices in the area, and this is my go-to place. I just discovered that there's wifi, although it took a little while for my iPad to find the network. I've yet to have dinner here, must check it out one of the evenings. read more

We arrived in Dublin early, checked in, took a nap, and then went in search of food. By the time we left our room most breakfast places had closed. Reviews on yelp were good and they were still serving so we walked the few blocks, arriving just before they closed. The staff couldn't have been friendlier and served us delicious food at a reasonable price. I had the Irish breakfast and my friend had the chickpea soup. How much for a takeaway breakfast sandwich? I thought the girl behind the counter made a mistake when she charged me €10.20 for 2 sausage 1 bacon 1egg in a sandwich. (On receipt) However when I questioned it, and showed her the FULL Irish breakfast on the menu was €9.50 she stayed that €10.20 was still correct (2.20 for Americano coffee-total €12.40) Probably most expensive sandwich in Dublin, maybe further afield. Visited Wuff for lunch on a relatively quiet weekday. My friend and I were seated right away, our orders were taken relatively quickly, and my friend got her soup almost right away. Unfortunately, that's where the praise stopped. My friend was well and done with the soup and we were waiting for over 20 minutes by the time we got the rest of our order, Meanwhile, at least two tables who walked in after us were served before we did. Since we'd both ordered stuff on bread, I'm wondering what took so long. Unfortunately, like many other trendy places around the Smithfield area, it feels like they put far too much thought into their ambiance and far too little into the food itself. The BLT sandwich I'd ordered was a notch below something I could put together in my own kitchen in a hurry: a few slices of tomato stacked on top of each other, one lettuce leaf and 1.5 slabs of cold bacon in a white bread bun, sprinkled with watered-down dressing that tasted store-bought. The presentation was basic, the taste was mediocre (I could taste floury bread more than anything), and all in all I regret the €8.50 I spent on this. Definitely not worth the price. read more

Great little restaurant. Popped in Saturday evening around 7pm after a trip to The Lighthouse Cinema in Smithfield. Restaurant was fairly quiet as it was still early. There was a steady flow of diners while we were there. I had the black pudding salad-gorgeous. My companion had the duck-also delicious. Sampled 2 glasses of house red wine which got the thumbs up. Dessert menu looked fab but alas we weren't hungry enough to sample any of it. I will most definitely, 100% return to Wuff. Could be my new favourite eatery around the Dublin 7 area! read more

We visited Dublin in August 2018, and happened upon Wuff. It was one of our best finds. So far we have had the eggs Benedict, the omelette, and the vegetarian. All of which were amazing!!! We could not help but come back the very next day. I would also highly recommend the Ferrero Rocher Latte! The pastries are also delicious, we had the chocolate croissant.
