These people should not have a go-kart part to their establishment. It's so poorly ran and the workers have literally no idea what they're doing. Paid the money to go and they had to stop us 3 times before our first lap was finished. They didn't properly check everyone before we started and some chicks hair was flying around everywhere then the workers argued with each other about whose fault it was lol. The guy with curly hair and glasses complained about literally everyone in line about their being a line and then would complain about his other co-workers. Awesome birthday parties happen at Wunderland in Salem Oregon. Wunderland is awesome because they have great facilities, skill games, and prizes. Wunderland has very nice facilities. When I visited, all of their machines were working. The staff were very nice; they helped my brother find his lost game card. Lastly, Wunderland was clean. Everything was great. The Wunderland has many skill games. They have a challenging Jurassic Park game where you must kill dinosaurs. They have a basketball game where you must make baskets. Lastly, they have skeeball. The skill games are fun. Did I tell you about those Prizes? The prizes are difficult to get. Even though they are difficult to win, I still got 250 tickets. The best prize they have is a genuine lightsaber. Prizes are fun to win and make playing worth it. Wunderland has lots to do. Play games for one prize and play with your friends. There are games to play like the Scuba Universal Park game.The ultimate prizes are a safe and that lightsaber. I swear you can play with friends and have fun. Wunderland is the best place to play. Absolutely ridiculous place. Me and my cousins who went here in last year June for his birthday were excited to do fun things in this arcade place. However when we went to claim or prize we didn't get our big prize and instead got Pencils?!! WHAT KIND OF SERVICE WE HAD BEEN GRINDING FOR POINTS TO GET BIG SHIT AND THIS IS WHAT WE GET? Never going back i recommend going to the new wunderland or atleast go to Chuck E. Cheese and don't even get me started on the hard candy that barely filled us up! If I could give negative stars I would. We bring our nephews here for their birthday and upon arriving they charge you admission fee, fine, whatever. But the fact that they charge you an admission fee, give you a slip as proof of purchase of admission, they then tell you you can't leave and come back because if you do then you need to pay another admission fee!? What the actual heck? So if I go out to my car and come back I have to pay again? This is a rip off and ridiculous. It doesn't even make logical sense. Why do I even need a slip of paper with my proof of admission purchase in the first place when you are checking me in and that's the admittance?!. I have barely walked in and already ticked off. Just read the other reviews. What a joke of a place this is. All employees look miserable as well. Games need an upgrade. Will look for another place to take our kids. read more

Absolutely horrible! If I could give this place negative stars I would. Everyone filled out waivers and all info online beforehand and we were the very first people in line and it still took over 40 minutes to get in. All the employees are old incompetent men. The go karts are slow and go about two miles an hour. You are made to wear a full helmet and ski mask. I put my hair in a low bun and tucked it into the ski mask so there was no hair out of the helmet. Workers forced me to put my thick curly hair in a high bun with the ski mask and helmet even after I explained how it would sit weird with the helmet and I wouldn't be able to see. Workers still forced me to do it and sure enough I could not see anything, the ski mask smelled like sweat and was going in my mouth. They kept telling me it was for my safety but there was nothing for it to get caught on and it was completely out of the way and safe before hand. I could not see and was tripping as I made my way to the go karts and I could not see when I was driving. Afterwards I went out to my car for less than two minutes to grab a bag of clothes I needed to change into since I was going to my game straight afterwards. I walked back in and an old guy who worked there ran after me and asked if I had payed admission. I told him that I had and that I had the game cards and a receipt to prove it. He said that the game cards don't prove admission and that I was going to have to pay admission AGAIN. I crashed out on him and explained to him that I just needed to change into clothes and I would be leaving as soon as my brothers go kart race was done. He finally told me he'd make a "one time exception" and let me through. The entire experience was absolutely ridiculous and stupid from beginning to end. It was a complete waste of time and money. I would not recommend this place to anyone and I will not be going there again. read more

Wunderland was fun,I got to hangout with my cousins and the good thing was that the place was clean spotless but the prizes were overpriced.

I liked the games.. however the nickels for the claw machine was WAY too expensive and almost took all my credit. Other than the place was nice and fun. Last thing the staff members were a little too lazy to move around and talk to the kids nicely. (Ps the prizes for the tickets are kinda over priced) / Edit changed to 3 stars to 2 stars! The leaving the arcade then having to pay back again just to play again?! ABSOLUTELY ridiculous, I would rather choose to play in Chuck E Cheese than this! They have better rules. Wunderland is like Chuck E cheese but cheaper. I have been going for many years. They advertiser games for $.05 apiece however it's more like $.20 apiece. They're all types of video games shooting, fighting, racing, and anything you can think of. They also have games in which you can win tickets. Tickets can be turned in for cheap toys your kids will love. Regardless of your kid or adult wonderland is fun for all. Over last two years though they've been getting rid of some of the better games and replacing them with ticket games. The place is still fun as worth checking out. read more

This was a fun place to take my kids, but this felt like a bait and switch operation. Advertised as a nickel arcade where "... after paying a small admission charge you will find that all our games operate using nickels..." which translates to between four and eight nickels per play. While they do state as such on their website, it is in what amounts to fine print and not on the main landing page. They also do not take actual nickels; you've got to buy a card and load it with cash that will be deducted against each time it's swiped. I had the absolute WORST SERVICE by the store manger. I bought my three disabled residents in who don't understand the concept of masks and will take them off. I spoke to the day time manager who was so sweet and said try it and if it doesn't work it doesn't work. The store manager (a different manager) pulled us aside and asked my resident to put a mask on again. I explained to the manager that he is disabled and will take it off no matter what, and he said it doesn't matter he has to wear a mask. I asked to speak to the original manager I spoke to when we originally came in and he so smugly put his name tag on that said manager and smiled as if this was a power trip to him. Then proceeded to say he needs a mask / face shield or we need to leave. Will NEVER come back here ever again. read more

First visit was last week, didn't know of the arcade... A very pleasant surprise !! We loved it !! The cards are great, much less hassle and cleaner than coins ! And the 'nickel a game' is fantastic !! Nice folks too, their entry/re-entry and other security policies made us feel OK with our grandkids being out of sight... ! Every time I visit Oregon, Wunderland is a must stop. Seeing some of these negative reviews makes me a little sad. I live in California and can attest to the complete lack of decent arcades and family fun where I live. Neighborhood aside, the arcade itself is very reasonable even with the charge for admission. It's a great place for kids(and adults) to have some fun and the prize selection is pretty awesome! Skip Chuck E. Cheese and come here instead. I am an honest person, and I worked here for 5 years (I quit over 8yrs ago now) I know more about this store than most. These are tips for having the BEST experience. Wunderland is for ALL ages,there are customers in there ranging from new born to ederly. While some people may not enjoy their experience (usually because they fail to bring something up to the staff), for the most part, everyone leaves happy. FIRST : Wunderland IS a nickel arcade (nickel, but since when do all arcade games only cost one coin?). However, the games now use cards and not physical nickels, they are still nickel based. Would you rather pay 2 quarters, 4 quarters or 2 or 1-4 nickels?, and at some places, ie Game Works, you will pay upwards of $2.00 per game, the highest cost game is 8 nickels. SECOND: YES there is an admission whether or not you play games and complaining about it is like complaining about having to pay to go in to Disneyland, but not riding rides, you still have to pay regardless. Admission is $2.75 ages 5-12 , $3.25 for adults, 4 and under are free. On Wednesday, there is $1.25 admission if you want a good deal on admission. SECOND: 2/3 of the game room are ticket games, and if you want more arcade games go on WUNDERLANDGAMES.COM and request them (arcade games) and rally your friends to join you in the endeavor. FOURTH: If you plan on bringing a group in to get the group rate more call ahead to make a reservation at 503-399-9410 or you will not get the group rate. If you are wanting passes (donations) for school raffles or things like that, call there as well and they will give you contact information to corporate. FiFTH: If you do not want to pay the admission, ask about CLUB WUDNERLAND, they send out quarterly coupons that give you not only free admission but either 5 dollars in nickels or $2.50 bags a piece (whichever is more, on some coupons), and EVERYONE who lives at your house in for free, if they do not live with you, they do not get in for free or get nickels. These mailings are quarterly. SIXTH: Besides the mailied coupons, go to WWW.WUNDERLANDGAMES.COM and print various coupons. NOTE: If your printer prints the coupon out in a different size then is on the screen re-print it, it will not be accepted if it is not the size it is on the computer, this IS stated on the site, but most people miss it. SEVENTH: I can vouch for the Salem store, the customer service standards are high, everyone strives to be friendly and accommodating, just because you have a bad experience don't stop coming in, talk to the management, preferably Josh not Rickey, and they will do their best to help you feel better about your experience and change it in the future, feedback to the company is the only way they can change, just be reasonable about it. :) EIGHTH: If something is dirty in the bathroom, like someone missed the toilet, let them know, they do check in every few minutes, except on very slow days. :) They also strive to have a safe store, if you see anyone doing anything dangerous (climbing on top of games or going under them "looking" for nickels) notify staff immediately, or any jagged edges on games they want to know when there is something unsafe going on. NINTH: If its your B-day, you get free admission, same goes for if you are in the military or a veteran! :D I know the management at the Salem store as well, and they have their issues, but generally keep things run well overall. Terrific place to spend some fun time playing games. The admission is acceptable and the cost to play is cheap. They're 5 cent games costing 1-4 coins each. So some are 20 cents a game. Still acceptable. The place is clean and easy to walk around. The setup of the games are nice and relaxing. It's also small enough where you can see everything at once and walk around quickly. So you don't have to worry too much if you have kids. If there's a problem with a game such as eating tokens or not giving tickets, it's easy to ask someone for help and reimbursement. The prizes are good enough, they're more for kids whom enjoy winning prizes with their tickets. read more

This place boasts that you can play video games with nickels! And you can! It just takes 20 nickels for one machine--at least in some instances. And you get to pay more than $2 per person for admission before you can spend 5 minutes plugging nickels into one machine. False advertising and admission aside, this place is pretty fun. They have a pretty decent selection of video games and an air hockey table (my favorite!) as well as skeeball (2nd fave!). This place is never too busy and I'd bet that's because so many of us have video game consoles at home. It's a double edged sword, really, because on one hand I like that it's not busy but on the other I don't want to see it go out of business. If you take your kids here, watch out for the nickel-eating-ticket-producing "games". It's similar to Chuck E. Cheese in that it takes about 10,000 tickets to "win" anything worth while and the rest of the stuff is just junk. read more

Sunday night, my fiance and I looking for something to do other than go to a movie. For $10 we both got in the door and each got a nice little bag of nickels. Most games were 2 or 4 coins each. Not sure which game the previous reviewer played that cost 20, but we didn't see it. Favorites included the 4-5 variations of skeeball, various racing and shooting games (specifically the boat racing one) and air hockey. Would have loved a basketball shooting game. We ran out of desire to play more games before we ran out of coins, so it was a great value for an entertaining couple of hours. read more

Understandable policy goes too far. My 7 year old was invited to a birthday party here. He's never been before and doesn't know the birthday boy's parents, so I want to walk him to the party tables so he knows where they are and introduce him to the supervising adults so he knows who they are if he needs help. If you walk in, you HAVE to pay full admission no matter what. There is no allowance to walk young kids to the party and the place doesn't provide staff to do it. So full admission was paid for the two minutes it took me to walk him back and then leave. Then, when I went to pick him up, they make you pay full admission a second time to go in to get him. I felt terrible for the parents hosting the party. They spent most of their time shuttling kids in and out instead of getting to enjoy the party or supervising the safety of a group of young kids in a public arcade. Worst of all, they paid twice for a lot of parents who just dropped off or picked up their kids and didn't utilize the place at all. The place also limited the number of times the birthday party hosts could walk in or out such as taking gifts to the car. I understand wanting to ensure no one inside skipped paying their due, but this is too extreme. It left all of the young kids in an unsafe and unsupervised situation and the party hosts paying way over what they should. read more

A run down arcade with not a lot of ticket winners. However, they did open up shop an hour ahead of opening time for us :). It was dark inside with a lot of old games, many of which did not work. But nice staff and they spared us 40 tickets when we did not have enough to buy a prize. None too impressed. Just like Chuck-e-Cheese with admission and really not meant for kids under 7. While the admission is low I find it ridiculous to have to pay just to pay to play video games so that my 5 year old disabled son can play games that are way to hard for him in the first place. You aren't allowed to see what is behind the counter, walk around, until you pay admission. With younger kids I'd just go next door and and buy their tokens. The measly tickets you win here don't win anything unless you spend ten times of what you win. read more

I'm not that impressed with it. It's more of the ticket gambling games now than video games. Also I work with special needs foster children and unless you specifically work for DHS they won't let you in without paying even though I am required to be with the child at all times in public (Some of them within x feet, some just in the room). Which I personally believe is illegal of them to prevent me entrance. But hey, I'm not a lawyer so what do I know? Fun place to take kids who love video games. Some machines are down and it gets a bit crowded at times, but the clerks were pleasant.

Good for children. Affordable especially when you sign up for free admission and free nickel mailer they send out every few months. The guys and gals that work there are always cool and nice to everyone. Could use some upgrade and modernizing of the prizes but thats hardly a complaint when i get the family in for free. The air is a bit stuffy especially if it's busy. Right off I - 5 for easy access. It would be neat if they had a couple pin ball machines. Lock up your cars there can be alot of quirky questionable pedestrians in this area of town. I suspect drugs are prevalent here but from I have seen they keep to themselves. read more

My fiance and I like to come here sometimes after seeing a movie or something. They're open later on Fridays and Saturdays, however, it can be packed. You'll see a lot of different age groups from families with young kids, teenagers with friends, and people like us in our 20's with friends. Theres a variety of games to play. You'll find FPS', racing games, claw machines, and a lot of different games to win tickets on. The prizes range, and they have a lot of them. We usually save our tickets and cash out after a couple trips for the bigger prizes and use the leftovers on candy! Sometimes the machines can malfunction and get stuck printing out tickets, but the staff is always very quick and very helpful about fixing them right away and making sure you get the correct tickets or nickels back. This place is also clean. I've seen staff wipe down machines numerous times throughout my time being there, which is something you don't see often at Pietro's or even Coin Jam for the 21+ crowd. read more

I loved this place as a teen back when they had actual arcade cabinets with fun original games, but now the amount claw machines and the machine you drop a nickel in and hope it shoves other nickels from the edge its just boring now. This is probably the best arcade I've ever been to, and I've been to some arcades. The games here take nickels instead of quarters, usually two nickels per game, so $5 will go a long way. Most arcades charge ¢50 for a game, here you get five games for that price. And they have a decent selection, mostly of older games, which isn't too bad considering most arcade games now are just ports of mobile games. They even have a few Japanese machines. read more

Avoid wonderland like a plaque ripoff. Must be under new management , first of all how can they call it a nickel arcade when some games cost you over 7nickels, second the games that use to give you ok tickets went from 2 to 4 nickels and if that was not bad enough they stuck a sticker on the games that gave you decent tickets that they will only give you half the tickets that the actual game said you won. I do no understand the cheap garbage they give you as prizes are barely worth a nickel but after five min my little girl was getting bored and tired of the bad scammer games. read more
