A huge shout out to the Dupont Road WW cousins today. We ordered delivery. Comparatively speaking to other restaurants packaging, they really are outdoing most. Their ginormous salmon sandwich is one of the best in town. We ordered three of those along with a side of fries and drink. included with the sandwich is a dill herb spread. I was totally amazed how carefully they packaged the meals. Without asking, they added a plastic wrapped side of lettuce, tomato onion, pickle, etc. If you get the salmon, ask for a side of chipotle sauce, a perfect accompaniment, we think. All their sides are delicious and all their burgers are delicious. You cannot go wrong. And don't forget that freshly baked, enormous $1.99 oatmeal cookie! read more

Lunch meetup with a couple of friends and enjoyed a juicy burger and tater tots. We did not feel rushed, noise level was mild, piped in music is awesome, and plenty of parking and easy accessibility. Bathrooms are clean. Staff are super nice. Ordered a 1/3 pound burger cooked medium on a fresh buttery bun with add-on options of mushrooms, grilled onions, and Swiss cheese. Delicious juicy burger patty and very content. Tater tots were hot and crispy. The options available on the burger bar to dress a burger were plentiful and fresh. Lots of chilled ketchup. Yum! Free refills on drinks and had sweet and unsweetened tea, pink lemonade, fruit punch soda, and all of the usual choices. It's been probably 5 years since our first (and, up until this point, only) visit to WW Cousins. While it's not far from home it's just not an area we visit often. When running errands on a recent Saturday wifey suggested we try it because it's been so long. I was 100% on board. When you first walk in the door you're greeted with the smell of fresh buns being baked. It's a great way to start a visit. WW Cousins is an "order at the counter and we'll call your name when it's ready" kind of place. The menu isn't extensive, but it covers the burgers, dogs, salads, and tenders you expect from a burger place. There are even a few seafood items. The standout feature of WW Cousins is the Toppings Bar. Whatever you want, chances are it's there. With roughly 20 different sauces and another 20 toppings (fresh veggies, pickles, etc.) it'd take me a calculator to figure out just how many ways you can customize your burger. (Yes, I know everyone has a calculator in their pocket these days, but Jim doesn't math. I'll leave that to the scholars.) After my quick trip to the Toppings Bar I was ready to dig in. Let's start with the bun. The bun is HUGE. It's buttered and toasted and my two 1/3 pound patties still looked pretty lonely. High-Five to fresh, huge buns! (if your mind is going there, don't.) The burger was VERY good (if a bit messy). I chose pepperjack cheese, but oddly it was on only one of two patties. The fries were very average. The atmosphere at WW Cousins is fun. With multiple dining areas (I counted at least 3) one gets the impression that there's been a few expansions over the years. There's a tree (it's not real) in the middle of the place with some stuffed animals placed strategically to give it a fun, outdoorsy feel. The staff during our visit was husting the entire time. From the person baking the buns (I'm going to call him a baker), to the counter person who took our order to the person cleaning the dining room, every person was busy keeping thing in order. WW Cousins is a stand-alone, as I'm given to understand that the other location closed a few years ago, which is kind of sad. This is a great concept. read more

One reason I only gave it 3 stars was because they took away the salad bar and soup station. The hamburger was ok and the onion rings were pretty good. You can make sort of a salad from the build your hamburger bar but some of my favorite items are missing. It's good they finally added a drive- through even though I have never used it. Toppings bar! On a recent trip I decided to give this restaurant a try for the kids. You order a sandwich such as a burger, chicken or fish sandwich. Then they have a toppings bar with onions, lettuce, tomatoes and lots of sauces. The e kids thought it was fun. They also make the buns in house. Dining area is very large. You order at the counter and then pick your own seats. They do walk around and ask to clear the plates when you are done eating. Great for kids or a large group. read more

Every time I go i find something new thats old to love. Its a throwback dive kind of joint. Great for groups of friends. Great for families. Fries to big This place is amazing. I highly consider the second you walk in. It feels like you're in the 90s and it feels really cool with all the decor and the feel. All the food is really good. The people that serve you are very polite and once you get whatever you want, you can add whatever toppings and sauces you want which I personally think is very cool. Also, the burgers here are the best part. This is my third favorite burger I've ever had and I've tried many burgers before. My only real concern is the french fries in my opinion. I think they're a little too big. I know a lot of people love fries big but it's just not my thing so that's my only concern and overall this place is amazing. Highly recommend. read more

Love this local burger joint for Monday and Tuesday night kids eat free with adult entree purchase. Staff is great. Food is yummy and the fixings bar is loaded. It's old school and perfect for families to enjoy a meal with their toddler's. No loud music or TVs so you can have a conversation. We brought cards and played a round of rummy. It was great. We'd picked up burgers from WW Cousins a couple of times through the Covid closure, when they created a drive thru experience to keep the store running. This was our first in-person visit since. They had a quiet crowd on Memorial Day and our order was taken right away. As usual, the burger and sides were ready quickly. The toppings bar is included and offers your basics, including pickles and dipping sauces beyond ketchup and mayo. For the 1/3 lb hamburger combo with cheese it's approx. $12. The restaurant seating is in good shape. Some of the older booths have been removed to make room for additional tables. Today the speakers were loud and we chose a table tucked into the sunroom area to muffle the sound a bit. The drink station was a mess, and later I did notice someone was tidying up the area, especially the spilled tea all over the counter. The bathroom was a sadder area with the sinks out of order. I didn't notice when I walked in and appreciated someone had placed hand sanitizer on the counter. Overall, an average experience in atmosphere and food. WW cousins is a long time Lousiville Staple located over off DuPont road near the hospitals. Heralded by many in Lousiville as the cities best burger. They have a unique setup. You walk in to the counter and order your burger by the way you want it cooked, sized and dressed with cheese or bacon. Then you are given the burger and go to a massive burger toppings bar with every condiment, topping and sauce you could imagine. The possibilities as endless here. They also make all there burger buns fresh in their bakery and have an on site pastry bakery that makes tasty large cookies and other snacks. The inside decor here is pretty cool. Very large establishment and in the back they have a giant lit up tree that's a popular centerpiece and photo op. Service on my visits here over the years is pretty good. They get the burgers out within moments and the burger toppings bar always sees stocked and tables bussed and clean. Overall ww cousins is a long time staple for a reason. They are good and unique. Whether you like your burger may depend on how you dress it. But the bun and burger they start you off with is always a tasty start. read more

Total crowd pleaser as everyone loves this place. It is a bit of a old homeschool place with a dive bar sort of feel without the alcohol. They are known for their burgers and fresh buns made on-site along with their scrupulously clean and fresh fixings table setup like a massive salad bar. She ain't fancy, but she tasty. I stopped here with a small group of friends and I did not expect the casualness of the spot. But I guess I wasn't also totally surprised at it... You order your food at the counter, pay, and go seat yourself where you want. You name or order number gets called and you go retrieve your food. Then there is a buffet line for all the dressings you might want for topping your burger. Very self-serve. Slightly more expensive than chain fast food, slightly less expensive than those sit-down-burgers-so-big-you-can't-bite-'em places. Gets the job done and fills your stomach. Everytime I drive on Dupont and pass WW Cousins...my hubs tells me he used to go here all the time when his kids were young and they all loved it. But we would always be rushing to an appt or some other thing and couldn't go. Recently....we finally went and it did not disappoint. I wasn't sure what to expect from this place especially with all the changes for COVID. You order at the front right when you walk in. The lady taking orders wasn't really paying attention so it was a little confusing to order considering we had never been there before. There was someone behind the counter that got all the toppings for you so you didn't have to touch everything. I wish they had better toppings like caramelized onions or a fried egg. I didn't see bacon on the menu anywhere and I don't think it was with all the toppings. The bun was delicious! Buttery and toasted. The burger itself was decent. I wasn't a fan of the fries. This is a great place for big crowds. Hamburgers are terrific and cooked to your temperature liking. Fish sandwiches and chicken are also good. Buns are cooked fresh in their own bakery on site! It's affordable to eat here too at $12 for a combo and a much better meal than fast food. I love the 40 ingredient topping bar. Service is pretty quick at the counter. They have carry out and drive thru too. All the pickles you can stand! Need to get a group together for a casual business meeting or a birthday? We came here today following the reviews on Yelp. Not sure what is going on with this place but it used to be a lot better and the food tasted way better than today. Clam basket was rubber and fries, the burgers where over cooked and the toppings bar is really ugly and poorly organized. Kid's chicken meal ( the smiley face ) was over cooked. The order station/ area looks awful, the annoying thing was them calling the order name. The people taking orders looks like they need some training for them to be able to up this place I know the pandemic had it's trouble but they look like still living there. The seating area is old dirty and sticky. I hope they go back to their previous glory days and fix the problem. read more

I applaud WW Cousins for their effort to protect their employees, customers and their business by installing a homemade drive through!! It worked like a charm! You pull up, order, then pull around to wait outside their door to pay and wait for your order to be brought out by employees. Although we were 5 cars back, it took no time to get our order. Once I opened the package at home, I appreciated their efforts a second time. This is no ordinary bag of carryout: while the burger and buns stay hot in its container, all of the burger toppings are packed separately, as in your lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles do not touch each other or soggify the bun at all. There is a separate baggie for the condiments as well. What should be hot stays hot and cold stays cold. And burgers were great as I remembered. Besides burgers, they also have steak sandwich, chicken sandwich, and hotdog. They also offer homemade cookies and brownies, too. Come support WW Cousins!! They deserve our applause! read more

After the Pandemic, the magic of life seems to be missing. I cannot really explain it, but everything seems different, empty. Like a flower blooming in the shade.I made my order through a piece of plexi-glass. The cookies in the Bakery were already cellophane wrapped as well, so you couldn't pick out your favorite cookie like you could pre covid. I wanna pick the cookie out! LOL! When we arrived at WW Cousins, the place was mostly empty. It was around 5 pm on a Saturday and only a handful of customers. They moved the Bakery purchases on the other side of the restaurant. They took the salad bar out. Even the Topping Bar seemed to be lacking. I was scraping the bottom of many empty tins, trying to get ketchup or pickles. The sour cream had butter in it, the butter had sour cream in it! They should put the butter and sour cream in the same tin and call it Butter Cream. Maybe they should invest in containers you can pump. That would be an awesome idea! One employee far off was watching us meticulously until we took our last bite before running over to our table to take our plate. The burger was good though, not gonna lie. The potato was way over cooked. It was more like a mashed potato with skin on it. The ingredients on the Topping bar seemed a bit lower in quality than what I was use to getting pre covid. At the start of the pandemic there were a few places that I was super bummed to not be able to go to as easily because they had no drive thru, & let's be honest, not every restaurant has adapted well to curbside. I was pumped when I heard that WW Cousins had built their own drive thru & was adapting to the changes around them without missing a beat! I love that their staff came together with a truck full of lumber & made it happen. I regularly crave their grilled cheese, onion rings, iced sugar cookie & a drink. It's quick, comforting & the sugar cookie is always iced with a smile & makes me happy. If you're not into grilled cheese, their burgers are amazing. Their fries are the thick steak fries that hold the condiments well & it always feels like you ate a meal that was well worth the savory calories. On this particular day, I was happy to see a line of people in the drive through doing their part to keep local business alive. My kids love this place but I'm solidly in the middle. Honestly, I can't believe that this place is still here. They are working hard to keep everything "safe". Still have the teenagers working the registers and I love that - good working experience. There is still a nasty older lady that works there - I don't know why because she is so rude and it is obvious that she hates her job.
