DO NOT SERVICE YOUR CAR AT THE HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP. Terrible service at the Hyundai dealership service department. My husband, his mom, and one of our best friends have recently purchased cars from this dealership, and I promise that is where our recommendations for your business stops. Last month, our Hyundai Sonata Hybrid had an issue with the hybrid charging system, and would not start back up after a message came up on the dash telling my husband to pull over and turn off the vehicle. We had it towed to Wyatt Johnson Hyundai and we waited to hear from them on the part needed and price. Initially, we were told that it would be approximately $900 for a part and it would be ready by the end of the week. We weren't offered a shuttle, we weren't offered a car to use, or anything else of that nature. We received a call the day it was ready, and my husband took my car over to the dealership to pay for his car and they told him that he would eventually need a new battery for $120. Later than night, when I got off work, we drove to the dealership to pickup his car, and it would not start. The general Sales manager was still there, even though it was after hours and tried to jump us. Unfortunately it still did not work. We waited until the morning and called to see what was going on.. That is when the crazy started happening... We started getting the runaround. The first conversation was very rude..my husband had called a few times trying to find out what was going on, but could not get anyone to answer us.. The service technician called saying "I don't really have any information or anything for us but he was just calling since we had been calling up there so much.(wow) He said he was just letting us know that it was looking like we actually did not need the part that was just installed, but that the part we need was 90 dollars, in addition to a battery which was $350, but they said that they would not charge us labor.. This was a little confusing, since we had already been told that the battery was $120, but my husband said okay, just order the $90 part, and the battery for $350. Later that night, we had a voicemail from the service tech saying "so this is how this is going to go, the total is 750 and we are ordering the part. we will have to refund your card for the other service and then charge the 750 onto your card." So, at this point, the price is changing AGAIN?! We went from a $120 battery, to a $90 part plus a $350 battery to now a random number of $750. The following morning, my husband spoke to the manager, and the call was on speaker. That call was a CUSTOMER SERVICE DISASTER. I am in a management position with a company that is in retail and I was CRINGING from the things this man was saying. The guy degraded my husband and his career, and in addition to that, said that this was a he said he said situation and he wasn't sure who to believe (WHAT), said that my husbands side of the story differed greatly from his service tech and was not sure what was going on, and was not able to even give us a breakdown of what the total cost of the repair was and why... Truly terrible. Finally he told us he would call us back and asked us what we thought we should pay. We stated that we thought we should pay the quote that we were initially given of the $90 for the part and $120 for the battery. He asked who was going to pay the difference and my husband stated that was not for us to decide. The manager then calls my husband back and tried to GUILT trip him saying that someone has to pay the difference and when he comes in to pay, the service tech will stand right next to him to pay the difference. (How awkward!!!! For your staff and your customer! AGAIN, terrible customer service.) The whole time we are dealing with this process, my husband is worried that somehow you guys would find a way to screw us... Well we paid the approximately $300 and got our car back... a month later that same error message comes up we bring in to your dealership and leave it overnight. We come this morning to ask the status to be told," We don't know what the issue is yet, but we do know that it is UNRELATED to the last repair we did." OF COURSE you do.... I understand that things go wrong with vehicles and multiple issues can happen under the same error message in the car, but HOW can you tell me it is unrelated if you can't even tell me what is wrong with it.. I guess you guys got our money one way or another. PURELY TERRIBLE SERVICE. You have NOT made your customer feel taken care of. You have LOST your customers TRUST in you. Very bad. You should be disappointed that this is way you service your customer. You have no idea how many people I have mentioned this to, and then they have their own personal horror story with you guys to tell me about in return. read more
