Wow, CoVid really hurt this bar. This is timberline lodge ski lodge. They have a cafe for your dogs and sodas. The full bar is next to cafe and is run by mt hood brewery. Down in Gov'y, the mt hood brewery restaurant is closed because they can't get employees to staff. They have similar difficulties at wy'east bar. Tacos are good, Chili is veggy and real good Nacho's are huge for two or more Then some cold sandwiches. Beer s great Full bar is nice. Only counter service due to CoVid. But they have some outside seating. Prices are as you expect at the top of the mountain. Just as high. read more

This was a very unpleasant review to write. Ron and I were here about a year and one-half ago and we had a fabulous day and had burgers for lunch in this same place. Everybody was happy and the atmosphere was bustling. Yesterday it was miserable. It was miserable because of a very condescending server and frankly very snotty server. She was the only one there. I can understand being the only one there and having to run around. I really can. However that means you can still use good manners. Here is why she and the restaurant ended up with a one star rating. It was fully 15 minutes before we were greeted at the table, but she took an order first from a group who'd just sat down. Then it was at least another 15 minutes before she returned to take our order. I asked for menus. She said "no," I could just use my phone and scan an icon and take a picture of the menu. I'm an old-fashioned kind of girl and said I wanted a printed menu. She got one for the two of us And had the nerve to flip it on the table. We asked for the nacho to be split in two because they are very large. She started to say no, but Ron shut her down firmly and quickly. I've been going to this this resort for close to 40 years and have never had a server tell me no. When the meal was over and Ron had stepped away, the server came up and told me that they don't like to split meals. I can't remember the rest of the condescending conversation because I was starting to lose my cool. She talked to me like I was 5 years old. As I mentioned, I've been coming to this resort for about 40 years and have eaten in every restaurant there from gourmet to burger stand. Becsuse of this awful young woman, I won't be coming back. Hopefully her manager reads this and will suggest some retraining before firing her. read more

This is a great cafeteria for a ski lodge. The folks make good food and baked goods. Yes, it's expensive, but it is a ski resort and well that's how it goes. The burritos are excellent and they offer a ton of different hot sauces. The ham breakfast pocket sandwich and the muffins are excellent. Camp lunch in the summer is good, especially the Cajun day. If wanting better food or epic ambience walk across the parking lot to the Historic Lodge for the Blue Ox wood fire pizza, the Ram's Head Bar drinks and light plates, or the Cascade Dining Room for world-class high elevation culinary work. Otherwise, grab a tray get your food quick, and get back to the skiing, hiking, or biking that brought you into the day lodge in the first place. read more

Great beer/drink selection, but incredibly overpriced. Have given this place many opportunities to get it right, but the food is definitely not worth the price. Ordered Nacho's this last time and it came to the table completely burnt with little to NO cheese. Essentially it was a pile of burnt chips with sour cream, salsa, and guac. When we complained the server took it back to the chef and brought back THE SAME pile of burnt chips with slightly more spur cream, salsa, & guac. Very disappointing for $16. Wy'East Cafe - Burnt Nacho's $16 - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Timberline Lodge, Oregon

I have been a season pass holder for the last 5 years or so, and we typically eat at least 8-9 meals per season in the Wy'East Café. Typically the food and service are okay. The facility itself went through a remodel over the summer, however, and I am not 100% convinced it's for the better. My experience on Saturday was less than spectacular. Here's my concerns: #1 - They re-did the floor, and it seems more like a tile than whatever was there before...(I honestly can't remember what was there before...). Wet ski boots and a tile like floor just don't go together and I saw TWO people fall in just the 45 minutes or so we were in there. One person fell pretty hard. #2 - I ordered the chicken strips and fries, which is my typical go-to meal. The fries were right on the borderline of being hot/cold when I got my meal...Rather than take it back, I decided to just go with it, paid, and sat down. After I sat down, I moved the 3rd chicken strip from below the two that were stacked on top of it, and realized that it was half a chicken strip instead of a full one. This is truly not a big deal, but at the same time it's kind of irritating when you pay $9.00+ for lunch and you don't get everything you were promised and it seems as though the employee intentionally hid the half-strip under the other two. #3 - The ketchup dispenser was empty. That in itself isn't terrible, except for I saw a Wy'East café employee on her break (you can tell by the uniform) use the dispenser, see it was empty, and then NOT notify anyone to fill it. I understand that she's likely on her break and can't solve the issue herself, but for the sake of customer experience, she should have at least let someone know. I finally let the cashier know, who let someone else know, who then tried to fill it, but was unable to, who had to finally get someone else to help, and by the time they got the situation resolved, my fries were DEFINATELY cold. #4 - They used to have a dispenser for BBQ sauce...that's gone, and when I asked the cashier where I could get BBQ sauce, I got a blank look and the response, "Well, things have changed..." I'm not 100% sure what the sauce of choice is for chicken tenders for most people, but I'm guessing BBQ is something that should be readily available. #5 - They used to have a water fountain in the cafe' where folks could fill their water bottles/cups. That's gone. To get water, you have to EXIT the café and fill your bottle/cup over in the area near the bathroom. The pipes/electrical outlet where they used to have the water fountain is still right there...they just got rid of the fountain. Guessing it's a way to generate more revenue by selling more drinks, but to me, it just seems cheap. Anyway, I am hoping that they work out some of the bugs. Probably will pack a lunch next trip. read more

Thanks for the 10 minutes later nearly instant stomach cramps and continued upset stomach. The only thing I ate that others didn't were your pickles. Which I think likely were supposed to be dill but tasted more like sweet or something else unidentifiable. Entire day ruined by an overpriced crappy meal that doesn't even include a sofa refill. Rip-Off....and yes the food poisoning makes this even more glorious. Urgh. read more

it was ok, went there on Saturday around 2-ish pm, the line wasn't busy but needed to wait for over 15mins for soup and a simple cheese burger. The soda is a non-refills once you're out the waiting area and pay your order. The aisle between seating is narrow you can just bump something or someone easily. But no other better choice there, price is ok and the food is ok, nothing special. read more

Convenient location but that's about the only good thing about it. I came in and ordered food with my 5 year old right before closing. We sat down and my 7 yr old came up a few minutes later after her ski lesson. The server refused to open the door and let her in. I recently had a ski accident and was standing there with my leg brace, visibly uncomfortable, waiting for her to "find someone who can make the decision" on whether or not to let my child inside. It was unbelievable. I understand it may have been a busy day but I said we don't need to order anymore, I just don't want to leave my child unsupervised outside while the other is inside the cafe. A little common courtesy and common sense would've gone a long way. read more

The food is okay, but the wait times can vary greatly. Sometimes it can take 10 minutes to receive the food and other times it can take much longer. It can get crowded during lunch hour. What sucks is that you have to stand around waiting for your food, there is no seating in the wait area. The eating area looks like a cafeteria and if busy, can be hard to find seats. Sometimes there are a lot of people and it can get very loud. I've learned to go after lunch time to avoid all of these issues. read more

Had to pass this place up again. So many years and still few vegetarian options and nothing vegan. You're missing an easy opportunity to bring in customers. Field roast and vegan cheese sandwiches with the fixings would be easy and delicious. A hummus plate. Salads with seeds and chickpeas. Even tofu! It was a very disappointing lunch, especially for the price. The pizza was inedible, the wedge salad had wilted lettuce and very watery dressing. It was particularly galling since it is next door to the wonderful Timberline lodge with great food. Avoid the lunch room and head for the Lodge. read more

The operating hours advertised and advised verbally during the day have to be taken rather cautiously if you planning to rely on food from this establishment. They randomly close hours early (they say for cost saving). Me and my kids ended up without food more often than with food this year when we planned to eat here. Also, after reading about some food poisoning complaints here, I wonder if it has anything to do with the employee's consistency of using the gloves they supposed to be wearing when preparing the food. Whenever I was lucky enough for them to be open, and managed to catch one of the workers' (few of them standing around chatting) attention they randomly had one, two, or no gloves on and touching the food with both hands. Last time, the guy started with one glove, after touching the food a few times he put on the second glove....interestingly, I had an upset stomach since then. read more

I have never given a 1-star review before. These folks deserve it. Took forever to get order placed (before lifts opened). Ordered waffles and a breakfast burrito. 5 minutes after order placed we were informed that they would not be able to make waffles for an hour or longer. Another 10 minutes to adjust order. Breakfast burrito comes out--- no green chili or sour cream on it. They asked "which burrito did you order?" The only one on your menu, the one with green chilies and sour cream on it. If you had two to choose from why didn't you ask which breakfast burrito we wanted when we ordered it? Another 20 minutes to get new burrito. By then they had waffles available but my kids had ordered something else. The condiment area was FILTHY with dried ketchup, mustard etc from the day before. Poor showing for timberline lodge. Bad enough you are having a poor year for snow, now piss off the people that decided to support you anyway. read more

Terrible service, the front girl wasn't writing anything down and gave away my wife's burger, so I got mine 15min before she got hers. Happened to most people there, everyone was delayed and irritated. Not to mention the burger sucked. On top of all this, the sign says $8.75 for the burger, fries and drink included. I get charged $27 at the register because apparently the $8.75 is burgers only, and I get charged an extra $4 for fries and drink. read more
