Great place to go if you are not satisfied with your current Dentist / Hygienist. Ask for Vee as your hygienist you won't regret switching.

An awful experience, cannot recommend…read more I had zero pain prior to my appointment. I needed a filling and during the filling I expressed that I was having intense pain. The dentist kept giving anesthetic injections but I could still feel the pain of the drilling so it does not feel it was being done right. First time that has ever happened. Afterward, I was in excruciating pain for a week, went back in a 2nd time to have her check what was wrong. She said everything was fine despite my pain and sent me home. I continued to be in severe pain for MONTHS until I was able to finally get in with a different dental clinic. The new dentist was able to immediately diagnose the problem, it was that the first dentist at Woodstock Smiles did not finish the tooth properly and had left a gap open at the bottom of the tooth, where food was getting trapped and nerves were exposed and it had become infected. I required antibiotics. He cleaned it out and sealed the tooth properly, took barely 15 minutes, and the pain stopped. No more pain since. Then, Woodstock Smiles tried charging me $80 for the 2nd visit (which was only needed because she did the first one wrong) -- and since she did nothing to help me on the 2nd visit, I refused to pay. They started to send me to collections until I mentioned filing a malpractice lawsuit. Then they removed the charge. So it seems this dentist does not know what she is doing. She caused me MONTHS of agonizing pain and illness, gaslit me that everthing was fine, while I was in so much pain I could not even chew food, because she failed to do a simple filling correctly. And it only took a good dentist 3 minutes to see what she did wrong, and 15 minutes to fix it. So I cannot recommend anyone going here. Maybe just for a cleaning, but not any actual dental work. I would not trust it. Instead, I highly suggest Dr. Blair at Powell Dental as he was quickly able to see what Woodstock Smiles did wrong, and fixed it fast, with zero pain.

The first time Dr. Brandon Rehrer removed my…read morewisdom teeth and he did such a good job I didn't need to take any pain medication besides ibuprofen. I can't recommend him enough for wisdom teeth. So when my general dentist said I needed an implant, he was the only surgeon I felt comfortable seeing. Today is the day after surgery. I had no pain yesterday, only taking ibuprofen. I have no pain today. I used ice and ibuprofen for both surgeries. The only thing that was a pain was the bleeding, you do have to bite down on gauze to get it to stop. Which is actually nice because I believe ibuprofen is a blood thinner, and that's why you bleed a little longer, but you are trading that for no pain!! So I was and am definitely willing to trade. Of course its not bleeding today and I am perfectly fine. :-) I also want to mention that the anesthesiologist's assistant was so nice. I was very nervous and I don't remember her name, but she was great. She even tried to distract me because I do get scared :-) When I run my tongue over the implant it is completely flat, and feels similar to the way it felt before when there was no tooth there. I am kind of amazed. (My general dentist will put the cap/tooth on the implant later.) I can't recommend this doctor enough, he does these surgeries every day. They give you the paperwork the same day you talk to the doctor, so you are not "well-read" enough at that point to ask the appropriate questions, so I suggest you read through the material when you get home and call the office with any questions. While this is a routine and simple surgery for him, it's probably not one for you. In my experience, if you give him a chance he will do an excellent job. Thank you Dr. Rehrer!

But most of the time was spent walking me through the $13,000 worth of dental care they claimed I needed, with the x-rays used as 'evidence". They recommended a 3-session "Deep Cleaning" that costs over $3,000, and five crowns. I have no insurance, so when I asked which crown was most urgent, the response was that all were equally urgent. Though merely "preventative." I requested a regular cleaning instead of the "Deep Cleaning" and they REFUSED to give me one. After previously telling me that would be part of this first visit. I've always had regular dental care from qualified professionals who always assured me that care options were my choice. And they all had the philosophy, "If it's stable, don't mess with it." It's very interesting that my previous dentist saw me 6 months ago and mentioned NONE of these problems. This leads me to the" conclusion that Gentle Dental is just trying to make a lot of money by urging unneeded treatments. My son looked them up on a consumer watchdog website and the vast majority of the comments said that very thing. Our bad for investing $100 in their "smile plan" up front. But I guess that's a small price to pay to find out that we need a different dentist. Gentle Dental, you're fired!

I'd been dealing with excruciating tooth pain for months, taking way too much Advil to function. I didn't have dental insurance, and after two major family losses, getting the pain checked hadn't been a priority. Eventually, the pain and Advil-induced nausea became unbearable. I made an appointment here after another dentist suggested a root canal, but didn't offer sedation. At this office, the root canal was "confirmed," but I was told I'd have to pay the full 4K up front just to schedule it--and the earliest appointment was still a month away. I explained that I couldn't keep taking Advil and needed something else for pain relief. Instead, they prescribed even stronger ibuprofen and steroids. When I reiterated that I literally couldn't take any more ibuprofen--or any NSAID--because my stomach lining needed time to heal, the dentist became condescending and dismissive. He left me feeling so stupid that I genuinely started to believe I was just being dramatic, which he all but said outright. Still, I paid the 4K and booked the appointment because I felt trapped and desperate. But when I got home, I called my stepdad, who's a PharmD. He was stunned by what I described and assured me I wasn't crazy. He also explained that while steroids can be helpful alongside a proper pain reliever, they're essentially useless on their own. Steroids reduce inflammation that can contribute to pain, but if the pain itself isn't being treated--especially nerve pain--they won't do much of anything. That conversation snapped things into focus. I called the office, canceled the procedure, got my money back, and found a multidisciplinary practice that saw me the very next day. Turns out my tooth was cracked vertically, so severely that a root canal wouldn't have fixed the underlying issue. I had the tooth extracted and replaced with an implant at a different multi-disciplinary practice and paid not much more than what I was going to have to pay for just the root canal. Strongly do not recommend going here. Side note: For anyone needing dental work done, find a place you trust that offers all services, not just root canals. That way, the recommendation and procedure align with what you need, versus what they can offer.
