Wow. I went to Aspen with an emergency tooth pain issue. It was not addressed. I only have 7 teeth and they're all bad according to the dentist and need to be extracted and replaced with full implants. Hey - only $44k - you got that, don't ya? They didn't ask me if I wanted something for my pain and told me to keep taking my own ibuprofen which I paid for at Walmart. Oh and about those antibiotics you forgot to order? Yeah, Walmart never heard of ya, Doc, or me. Great job! At least with the $14k for a full set of dentures because it would cost too much to fix my teeth VS $44K FOR IMPLANTS ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!!! And the financial support person questioned me when I said I DON'T HAVE $44K why I would settle for the worse case scenario - what I originally wanted was too much. No way am I going back. Ive been bedridden due to toothpain. I applied for an appointment in the morning and was called back within 30mins. After telling her my pain I was going thru she told me to come in immediately. Check in was easy. I only waited 5 mins. They did x-rays and the doc gave me her assessment very quickly. Afterward I talked to a woman about financial. She was very helpful. These people genuinely cared. The financial lady was one who told me to come in so soon. She even said she didn't want me dealing with this pain any longer. They are my new dentists. Had a 9:15 appointment and was told to be there 15 minutes early to do paperwork. I was and sat and waited and waited. After 30minutes the receptionist told me they were cleaning the room. After 50 minutes I went up to the counter to find out when they would be calling me. They didn't know and were extremely rude and unapologetic and didn't have a time and asked for me to reschedule. I went in for a chipped tooth, but they didn't even care to look at the chipped tooth; they looked at my mouth just to say i need all of these other things done before they would even look at the chipped tooth. Alex was a lovely op assistant who was cheerful and kind. Sort of ended there. I came because my mom doesn't always have a full understanding of the English language. The practitioner who came in to do the surgery 1 didn't introduced himself 2 when I said "I'm sorry I didn't catch your name, and your first name?" "I didn't tell you my first name" (in a rather defending way 3 was so confused by my presence there. As someone who had worked with many Medical professionals in both emergency and surgical settings, I was baffled by his irritation with my presence. He acted as an Insecure resident who wants to prove his standing vs a professional who may appreciate support For his patient. I've seen many drs like that. Air of superiority and insecurity. "she seemed she got it all". I've never seen a dr grab his tools, not intro himself, not ask patient questions. his arrogance definitely made me very uncomfortable and angry if I am honest. He threatened to cancel my moms surgery Because as I was about to leave I said "it was thomas right"? I swallowed my pride since it's not about me and apologized. So folks, the point of the story. They have a lovely welcome team. However very disorganized in the back (boxes just piled up in the corner with all sorts of tools in them), claustrophobic, and to top it all, turn and burn program. Came in for a simple 5 minute consultation, was asked to return later for an appointment. Upon returning I checked in and waited for an hour without ever getting the requested consult. It is hard for me to understand making an appointment that they cannot facilitate. They could have offered me to come back much later or a different day if things were too busy. As it is, my time is wasted and I feel poorly about the management of this office. Please find a dentist who can schedule appointments and keep them. Just decided to drop this dentistry and find a new one based on multiple experiences with a receptionist who was difficult to work with, scheduling insisting that entry exams and cleanings be on separate dates, then trying to schedule multiple exams within the same year when I was just expecting to come in for a routine cleaning. The hygienist told me it is routine for one exam and two cleanings per year last time I was in. The receptionist told me today that I needed another exam because I didn't come back within exactly 6 months, but it was their scheduling team that chose this return date. I am not paying more money for two cleanings AND two exams every year that might all be on separate dates because of scheduling complications. This place is messy. read more

Has a problem with a tooth and they just crowned over it. Worse yet the crown still doesn't fit right after multiple attempts. If you want really expensive bad dental care, this is the place to go. Moving to this area from Seattle area, I picked Aspen Dental during the Pandemic. Most of the staff was friendly, but when the Dr came in to review the many XRAys taken, she never showed me the X-Rays like all other dentists have, but quickly made a recommendation for Deep Cleaning and left. I paid the $ 450 above what my insurance would pay, which I understood. What I didn't like was the upsell throughout the experience. Coming back 3 months later for what I thought was a regular tooth cleaning, turns out it was another layer of deep cleaning, and a thick layer of fluoride paste smeared on my teeth, even after I had said that I didn't want fluoride used for $50, undisclosed until I got the Bill. I think that the only reason why I wouldn't give them is for a couple of reasons: -had availability to get my in quickly and I didn't have to wait for weeks before having an opening -some of the staff we were nice. For example the dental assistant that I had and the receptionist we all really nice as well. As for the rest of experience it was terrible from the second I was brought to the back and asked to sit in chair. I left like I was constantly trying to be sold something: -teeth whitening -Invisalign -wisdom teeth removal Then I was told that I have pretty bad gingivitis and needed a deep cleaning and was told that I have a cavity. During my time there I have 4-5 people look at my teeth for two seconds and then walk out and. Bring someone else in and again and again. Once I was done with my exam. Someone else came in to over treatment cost with a grand total of over $4,000. I was in disbelief. They made me feel like my oral hygiene and my overall oral health was terrible and that I had a lot of problems. I went to a different dentist for a second opinion since I make sure I take good care of my teeth. My second opinion let me know that I needed a basic simple cleaning and had two cavities and it was no necessary for me t get my wisdom teeth removed the total cost of my treatment was: $450 My honest opinion of this place: if feel like this place truly doesn't care about you or your care. Very shady. Go to a real dentist. The ad they run about leaving with dentures the same day is a joke. They hold your dentures hostage and make you pay for procedures you don't need. During the approval process I told the dentist the pallet was huge, he agreed that no pallet was needed, I picked them up yesterday and they had a huge pallet. I went in for an infection in my mouth from a broken tooth , they can't fix it until the infection is gone well dr put me on an antibiotic with did not work so I had to go back for another round of antibiotics that did not work so I turn I'm being charged every time I have to go back 160 dollars for a tooth infection that's not being taking care of so I call and they say well yes basically being charged 160 dollars for them to tell me it's still there and also I have to pay for the antibiotics on top of it this is a scam and they are money hungry ! My dental plan changed recently, and I was assigned to Aspen Dental office, Happy Valley branch. So I made an appointment to get the routine first-visit stuff done. This is a new, clean, and modern facility designed for one very specific purpose- to maximize profits for it's investors. I got the feeling that they are set up like a car lot where they first qualify you on your spending capacity, and then sell tie-ins, expensive warranties, and paint protection treatments. I have healthy teeth and good oral hygiene, and this doesn't sit very well with their model of dental practice. I was told by the dental assistant that I needed this expensive dental cream that only they sell to protect the enamel on my teeth. The dentist on duty then visited with me briefly, but made no genuine attempt to get to know me, or to know my lifestyle. She did however discover two teeth that needed crows immediately. I was then ushered to the business manager who started to print elaborate pricing sheets for future treatments, and resisted my simple question of what do I owe for this visit. I am not going back there. I recommend the same to the reader. Find a non-corporate local dentist who has a good reputation. Ask around, and do a "get-to-know-them" office visit. Please, don't go here! It is definitely set up like a used-car dealership. I was glad they got me in last minute (and didn't charge for the exam because I didn't have insurance) but after the dentist looked at my teeth the business manager took me to her office and explained I had 10 cavities and needed a crown, plus they were going to include a 2-visit cleaning session and an electric toothbrush . . . quoting me a cost of $3,500! The next week (after my pain cleared up) I went in to see my old dentist who also took x-rays and said my teeth looked great--NO cavities and no real need for cleaning even! (The pain, I guess, was due to stress grinding, and it went away on its own). Aspen Dental is a PREDATORY practice and they capitalize on people who are in pain and worried about finances. I really felt at first, that they were very accommodating and friendly. That lasted until I got my my permanent dentures, and then... They just stuck them in my mouth and said here you are. Most dental offices check with the patient to make sure everything is okay...not this one. I spent a ton of my own money to get dentures that I have to glue in...I'm devastated...I'm so disappointed. The only reason they are getting 2 stars instead of 1 is because they had fast and convenient appointments; my husband got a consultation same day, xrays the next day, and his wisdom teeth removed within a week. However, I wish he had gone somewhere else. They removed all 4 wisdom teeth and did not give him any antibiotics or pain medication. He developed a fever of 103.8, chills, and vomiting less than 12 hours after surgery. I ended up sending him to the ER because the on call DR took an hour and a half to call back. read more

Months after I finalized my bill the the manager (Jessica) told me that my insurance didn't cover the amount that she expected it to and tried to bill me for an extra $1500 due to the fact that she never talked to my insurance in depth. We went back and forth for months and she told me that she would rectify the added out-of-pocket costs but didn't. After calling countless times I finally was able to make contact with her again and she told me that the bill I signed was actually an estimate and I owe more money. One employee told me that I didn't even have insurance at the time which was not true and tried to bill me for the full costs which was very insulting. Don't waste your time!! I went here about 2 months ago and I was extremely nervous about going to the dentist. I had some pain that I needed help with. I waited a full hour to go back and I was 15 mins early (per their request). There was a girl sobbing in the lobby begging them to help her and they would call other people back and completely ignore her. The gentleman who did my X-rays was nice. But everyone else was just rude. I sat in a freezing cold room after my X-rays were done for about a year and got to listen to the guy in the room next to me get scolded about how bad his teeth were, and that they couldn't save them and he needed dentures. I guess then the doctor got bored of yelling at him and came to ruin my day told me I needed over 15 k worth of work done and that I had massive issues. All while not even actually explaining what the issues were and saying about a total of 30 words to me . I left and decided to try another dentist for a second opinion(Gental Dental in happy valley) and they were AWESOME!! And I won't even have to pay half of what Aspen Quoted me!! 5-2-2018 Had 3 Fillings done ect.... in about an hour & a half. Everything went fine.

I took my mother here because she needed a tooth extracted. She doesn't have insurance and they said that was fine. They said she'll be able to get a full exam and X-rays for free! Lies! I'm not sure what happen when my mother went in but after her exam and she was in billing room and called me in with her. They charged her for a "limited exam" which apparently cost. And said that's what my mother wanted. Wtf?! Ok yeah like who in the right mind would choose an exam they had to pay for over a free one?! Since it was already done I had no choice but to pay for it. I was pissed how they mislead us and took advantage of my mother who doesn't understand English that well. We had to come in the next day since she had to get her tooth extract. I went in with her in the beginning and the assistant who took her blood pressure didn't start the machine and my mother was sitting there with the machine on her wrist over her chest for ten minutes. When Dr. Kremer came in and we told her. She seemed all bitchy about because she grabbed my mom's hand, removed the blood pressure machine and strapped the machine back on her wrist and forcefully push my mom's arm on her chest. I was appalled how she was forcing my mom in that way like my mother was a child. It's not my mother's fault your machine didn't work! After this experience I'm never coming back here. All for profit and all fake smiles and services here. STAY AWAY! My mother said the doctor was really rude to her during the procedure. Numbed her up and didn't even talk to her to let her know how long she needed to wait. The doctor walked right out after numbing her. After the procedure, they didn't bothered on giving my mother extra cotton or any tissue to help with the blood or saliva. There was no CARE my mother as her patient. We payed full price for everything and these people didn't even bother on making us feel welcomed other than our wallets! Horrible. read more

When I called Aspen Dental I was told they had an oral surgeon who could perform an implant. When I arrived I was given an x-ray, even though I had been given the same type of x-ray by a dentist two months earlier. I certainly don't appreciate being given more x-rays than I need. After the x-ray, I was told that they don't actually have an oral surgeon, but that they could refer me to one. I certainly did not need a referral from them, since I could get one from my own dentist. When I complained, I was told that the cost of the x-ray would be waived. This was not true. I continue to get bills from Aspen Dental, though I have no intention of paying any of them. I certainly would not recommend this place. Well to start off their prices were off the wall!! So expensive compared to other dental clinics. This place was a joke. Very pushy about the most expensive option. The doctor wasn't very nice. I told him how much pain I was in and he said "well you can talk to my assistant". He didn't talk to me at all after that, he told his assistant what needed to be done then left. A friend of mine went here. This person has no insurance and was talked into a payment plan that involved paying two different payments a month, one to Aspen and one to a credit outfit called Genisis FS. The patient has been without teeth for almost a year as the teeth are being held hostage until both Aspen and Genisis are paid up. a matter of several thousand dollars. The payments this person is able to make barely pay the interest. I guess that means no teeth for ever. This is nothing but a high-interest money grab that makes the poorest pay the most and the highest interest out there. There has to be a better solution. read more

I went back for another cleaning, and he made the whole experience as pleasant as possible. I've had problems in the past with my frisky tongue - some dental hygienists take an adversarial position with it, which makes things worse. The staff is very friendly and they use the most up-to-date technologies to ensure my visit was quick and easy. We normally go to the Aspen dental in Gresham and am very happy with that office. My son was having tooth pain so I called to schedule an appointment at the Gresham office. Unfortunately the first appointment was three weeks out. She suggested that I call the Aspen dental in Happy Valley. When I called the receptionist was very rude, almost as though I was bothering her by calling. She was able to get an appointment for the following Saturday. When my son arrived for his appointment there was a sign on the door saying they were closed Saturday May 13th (it was really Saturday May 14th) due to unforeseen circumstances. Now, I understand that things come up, and things happen. Why in the world didn't they call us and let us know? Very frustrating!! I will not be returning to this office. Going to have to wait the three weeks at the Gresham office to get him in. read more

I need a denture repair. Their dentist would not authorize it. their Lab said it would be possible. still the dentist would not authorize it. Why? She wanted me to buy new dentures.
