This place is incredible. I stopped in for a brew and some food after a long flight into Denver. I ordered the fried chicken in a biscuit with a cup of gumbo. I was not let down in the slightest. The food was perfectly cooked, the house - made biscuit was one of the best that I've ever had. Great beer selection, 22 flavors that are made in-house. My server is one of the best that I've had too. Super friendly and knowledgeable about the food and drinks. We even started a conversation about the cannabis flowers that I brought with me hahaha. 5/5 will return again during this trip. read more

On the afternoon on 29 May, 2016. A good group of friends and I embarked on what i would see as the most enthusiastic, well thought, planned, and professionally coordinated brew tour ive ever seen. Since living in Colorado i have done approximitley 26 brew tours, and this was by far the best. Our tour guide patrick was a gracious host, whos passioned fumed from him when talking about the beers he works around everyday. The beer was as plentiful as the information, and the wealth kf knowledge Patrick had was obviously not from just working here, but buy years of passion he has poured into his craft. I would highly recommend this establishment to anybody who enjoys the art, as well as the astounding science, that is craft brewing. read more

My thoughts on Wynkoop: - Fun place to shoot pool - Fun place for happy hour - Great beer - Food is average I used to go here for happy hours when I used work downtown. We'd go upstairs and shoot pool and drink beer. My favorite beer is their St Charles ESB. I always get this beer from the main floor in cask condition. This industrial-quality brewpub was a good find for us on a trip to Denver. There is a reason why it seems to be the highest and best reviewed brewpub on Yelp. This is a big place, lots of seats and servers. But in this case, it is huge because this is a quality institution. The beer was well-made, not super-exciting but quite good at the same time. I had a tasting tray, and the highlights were the hefe, which was very tangy and flavorful, and the ancho chile beer, which was delicious and innovative. The rest weren't bad, just average. The food was exceptional. We had the green chili, which was amazing and really hit the spot. The spinach salad was excellent and enough for three people. The fish and chips were fresh and delicious, with a clearly homemade dill tartar sauce that was good enough to eat on its own. You can't seem to go wrong with Wynkoop! read more

Two stars sounds bad, but the description "Meh. I've experienced better." perfectly describes this place. Denver and Colorado in general is oversaturated with microbreweries. Most are excellent and the rest are nothing special. Wynkoop I would consider to be in this average pool of breweries. Situated anywhere else this would be a good brew house with good food, but in Denver is just doesn't compare. The beer is malty, or maltier than I would like. Their gimmic beers (like their chili one) are interesting but not something you can really drink more than a sample of. The few times I've ordered food at the bar I've been disappointed. Each time the food was super-salty, no matter what was ordered. This is usually the mark of a chain-like restaurant. If i wanted salty, otherwise tasteless food, I would go to Applebee's. I suggest trying this place at least once and not writing it off based on my review. You might like it. As for me I think I'm done giving it chances. read more

Vanessa was the worst! She wasted the whole tray of water on my friend. I asked if he could get a shirt. She never brought it. She chuckled a few times about wasting it on him. Then the bill came and she brought him his bill. He asked about a discount. She said "I'll see what we can do." Then she came back saying she comped his bill, leaving him with a total of $7.55. Absolutely not! That's unacceptable. She mentioned she thought we were joking about the shirt. I told her you made him sit there for over an hour with a wet shirt and pants. We need to see the manager. The manager came over, comped his meal, and gave him a shirt. This whole process was absolutely ridiculous. As visitors here, we have always had a great experience in Denver. We will not be back. read more

Good beers, a little disappointed that half the draft list was unavailable (tapped). Did not have any food, but tried most of the house beers that were available. Orchard wheat and Cowtown milk stout were the two best I sampled. Location is great! If you can get it, sit outside and people watch at one of Denver's busiest corners. read more

We actually visited wynkoop twice on our trip to Denver, once just my husband and I for dinner for dinner and again for lunch with a group of 8 for lunch. The bad Both visits the hostess was slow and sort of rude. They weren't particularly full either visit so I'm not sure what the issue was. On our first visit, it took our waiter about 15 minutes to come and greet us or bring us any water. Again, it wasn't very busy. The waiter on our first visit highly recommended the buffalo meatloaf and I changed my order on his advice. I would describe it as fine. Green beans were undercooked and the sauce was very salty. The good Our second visit for lunch our waitress was great. I ordered the dagwood sandwich (which I had planned on ordering the first night) and it was awesome. They make their own bread on site and it was delicious. It was also enormous. Their French fries were also very tasty. Husband had the Reuben and it was very good as well. Our friends all ordered sandwiches as well and they were all very good. The beer! The beer here was delicious. The chi lie beer was the best beer I've ever had and not only redeemed the disappointing first visit, but inspired us to bring our group back a second time. We've been to Wynkoop a number of times over the years, but left tonight feeling like they're slipping. They were out of several beers, and the waiter seemed to think it was a lot of trouble to help us out after they didn't have the one I wanted. Overall he seemed impatient. We ordered a sampler, which was $4.50 on the menu, but it turned out that the sour beer was 50 cents more. Only 50 cents, but no mention of the extra cost from the waiter. That's just lazy service to not tell your customer that what they're ordering cost more than what's reflected on the menu. The food was also mediocre. I had the ruben and it seemed like it was 80% bread. Very thick texas toast with only a thin layer of corned beef. The slaw side potato salad sides that came with the sandwiches was just like the kind you get out of the large "milk" cartons from Kings Soopers. My son ordered the shrimp tacos, and despite no mention on the menu, they were VERY spicy, so beware if you're ordering those. Overall, note at all a notable experience. Don't think we'll go back any time soon. read more

We had a really great Friday night at this place! I came here with my best friend and her dad, who was visiting out of town. The beer selection is great, even though I'm a bit stubborn with ordering dark or hoppy brews. Our service was a little slow. I probably would have ordered 1-2 more beers if our server would have checked in a bit more often. We ordered the cheese and sausage plate for a shared app. The bread was a little too charred for my taste, not sure if they intended to send it out a bit burnt around the edges or not. What a shameful place!!! Sitting down to a dirty ass bar, not being greeted for about 5 min, and then drinking from a glass which has an old receipt in it, which I then drink and take out of my mouth. To top it off the bathrooms are unkempt and something about the downstairs smells revolting. Such a shame as this place actually has great beers, such as the MilkCow Stout and Chili Beer. If they would only get their act together, this could be a great place. The bar is just laughable! The back of the bar looks like furniture straight out of the 70's and it's dirty as hell. No patron should see such a mess. Gross and dirty carpets line the stairs and staff just stand around with their thumbs up their ass. Noone, besides the useless hostess, greets you. I can go to hundreds of other microbreweries/bars and spend my dough. Won't be going back! read more

I enjoy this place for good eats and good variety of beer. They make their own beer and distribute their beer to colorado liquor stores in the area. Their trademark beer has a lil bit of hops in it. I've tried both their gorilla and bison beer. They're ok. I mostly go here to play pool with my friends. I like the second floor with assorted pool tables and changing art decor periodically. They also showcase Colorado artisans' works of art downstairs in the dining area. Great place right across from Union Station! read more

Beer me, please. Moslty go here to drink beer but have had food at the bar and it was good bar food. We have had just about all their beers (not all in one night!) and found some good ones in there. Even if you don't like their beers, they have plenty of other locals and nonlocals on tap. You can get the sampler and then figure out which ones you one to explore more. The service is good. Never have had bad service here and have had some pretty good ones that stood out. Most of the times we sit at the bar and the bartenders have been nice, good recs, and fun convos. And the reason we come back here so often is how big this place is. I love how it is so roomy that you don't have to elbow people to go across the room, big plus! There are plenty of different areas to hang out in, bar, tables, darts, pool tables, open space, etc. I have been here with just 2 other friends and also for networking events with 50+ and all the times have been great. Parking is on your own downtown but it is not right in the middle of Larimer so a little easier to find. We will continue to stop by here and rec that you try it out! read more

Buffalo meatloaf was a solid local feeling dinner - homey and large portioned that comes with mashed potatoes so flavorful they need no gravy and (admittedly boring) steamed broccoli. I love the way they do their sampler - apparently they're the largest brewpub in Denver in terms of quantity they output. It's $3 per pour, no restrictions on the number of pours. The night I went they probably had about 12-14 beers to try and a cider. My favorite (and seemingly everyone else's) is the rail yard ale. I bought a six-pack to bring home - it survived the flight well. The service is not the most attentive but super friendly when they do come by. Really wish I knew where they all got their I (heart) colorado beer shirts. read more

They have the silverback porter right now (cask conditioned goodness) and a Trippel style called "Tripel Sixes" which is fantastic and nearly 10% alcohol! Served 8oz at a time. This is a good go-to brewey/restaurant for food and drinks. We came on a Saturday and the service was good and food/drinks were very good too! We started with the dry rub ranch wings which were very good - they have a lot of options for sauces and dry rubs. I also had the brussel sprout, bacon salad - also very good! Another reason for our visit was the billiard space in the upstairs. It wasn't open when we first got there due to a private event but it opened up after we had dinner. We spent several hours playing pool and it was a lot of fun. One suggestion would be to include more tvs in the dining area. My boyfriend would have liked to watch college football and I suggested Wynkoop for dinner assuming they'd have several televisions (thinking I was a sports bar) but they really didn't. read more

This place is certainly massive. We went to find some friends there and literally walked around for 20 minutes until we realized they weren't there yet. From what I experienced it was a pretty decent place. Extremely loud, tons of pool tables, interesting looking food (did not eat, but saw a table that had mussels). Maybe more appropriate for after a ball game. Overall though, I would just call it normal, a fixture type place. The one extra star I give is for the L-shaped pool table. Pretty chill place to hang before going out on the town or just to stop and have a beer and some food. We went on a Saturday night and the darn place was packed, even the overflow upstairs was busy. Our sever was really nice and helpful. The Wheat Beer is very yummy and you have to try the Gorgonzola Ale soup...to die for. One of my friends ordered the Buffalo Burger and it came out very burned on the bun, but our server was more than willing to fetch her a new one. My other friend had a grilled chicken sandwich and she was satisfied. I was in Denver recently for business and one of our associates recommended the Wynkoop Brewery. I like the location of the place, it was close to the light rail and the area reminds me of a quiet Manhattan neighborhood. Even though I was only in town for 2 days/1 night, I came here twice. The first occasion was just to have a few beers and relax. The second was to grab lunch before heading to the airport. I can't say I was excited by the menu but everything we ordered was adequate. As for the beers, my absolute favorite was the chili beer. It was genius! Tasted like chili but without the heat. It worked well with my burger. read more

One of my favorite places to go for a relaxing night of playing pool, shuffleboard, and darts. My fiance and I come here all the time to destress and have a good time. Tip: If you want to go for pool/shuffleboard/darts, call ahead (especially on weekends) to make sure there isn't a special event. Now on to the food/beer: The beers are pretty good and they have a nice variety. For food, we usually just order a variety of starters to share or a burger to eat while we're playing games.
