And they're near everything in addition to the oils and vinegars. You can spend a lot of time browsing here, looking at the options, checking out the recipes and letting your culinary imagination go crazy. Half the store has the oils, vinegars, various salts, and sauces of every kind, the other half is a cheese shop along with hard-to-find condiments to complement the cheeses. Verdello also has cooking classes for both adults and kids, with small class sizes and comes with the recipes to take home. In looking at the upcoming schedule, many of the classes fill quickly, so it's best not to wait if something catches your eye. With all the good here (4+ stars), I struggled to justify even a three-star rating based on the service. Maybe because it was early, maybe because it was a weekend, but when I asked for assistance in getting some product, the barely concealed resentment was palpable: from the eye-rolling to the deep sighs, to the terse sentences. At the usual questions during checkout, be assured that when I said I likely wouldn't be coming back, it wasn't because I'm not from the area. Customer service must be foreign concept here. They were so perfect; cut in 1/4"W x 1/4"D thicknesses of varying lengths. and lightly deep fried to golden brown, well-drained. The salad was fresh. While the taste of the gyro was ok, sadly the lamb had been sliced into about 1-1/2" x 2-1/2" x 1/4" rectangular blocks instead of having been shaved into 1/8"- 1/4" thicknesses. The slices of lamb should have been cut from top-to-bottom, from the verticle rotissie, to ensure that each piece includes the crispy, caramelized exterior. Since one of my favorite go-to menu items is the Greek gyro, I was very disappointed. Additionally my sister felt (compared with the last six places we'd dined at in the last week) that the drinks we had were a bit over-priced. The atmosphere of the restaurant is pleasant: background music down to a low-enough level for guests to converse easily, nice hardwood floors, and well-lit. There are a handful of breweries and all of them were quite good! For Luminous we had their Cream Ale known as the Pickleback Cream Ale. It was so good! I gave it a very high score on Untappd. Flavors to be on the lookout for with this highly enjoyable beer are salty, vinegar and sour which are fairly unusual things to find in a Cream Ale. I think it's due to living up to it's name because pickles are more than likely involved here. As unusual as that sounds the balance and the bouquet of flavor is perfect which made a unusual and very likeable Cream Ale! We were very impressed!
