We are in a great age of Bourbon and Whiskey. More and more fans and aficionados across the country are seeking out new bottles to try and discover. I'm something of a Bourbon enthusiast myself. So when I first pulled into downtown Jackson and saw the Wyoming Whiskey storefront I got excited. A chance to get up close and personal with Wyoming's flagship Whiskey. It was my first stop after checking into the hotel and getting settled in. When I walked into the small tasting room, the manager Jennifer was already entertaining a crowd of patrons at a small bar with Wyoming Whiskey's entire line-up on display. She was pouring samples while telling the story of the distillery and products. She was is a great ambassador for the brand and clearly knows her stuff. I was able to try their entire line-up while hearing stories about the distillery and the business. I was impressed to hear some real Whiskey rockstars are behind Wyoming Whiskey including Nancy Fraley and Steve Nally. How about the Whiskey? I highly recommend. I am a big Maker's Mark fan and Wyoming's recipe is very similar- which makes sense since Steve Nally was originally at Maker's Mark. If you like wheated Bourbons you'll love Wyoming Whiskey. If you find yourself in Jackson and you are a Bourbon or Whiskey fan this is a must-go stop.

Can't leave without getting some local brand whiskey!!!

Fun place stop by to do some tasting! Easier to get to than traveling to Kirby. Brought home's double cask edition for enjoyment.

The promoters were not to be deterred, thankfully, as I spent a lot of money just to get here. Compared to other festivals this one is run exceptionally. There is no heavy handed security people acting like wanna be cops. There presence is there if you need one. All of the staff is friendly, helpful and happy. The crowd is organized well and there is plenty of room for everyone. The only morning competition and run for space is for shaded areas and shade shelter spots. If you want to get close to the performers it's easy to just walk up to the standing area in front of the stage. For such big name acts, the festival crowd is mellow and friendly. At no time did I smell tobacco or witness its use in the standing area, a real rarity! The biggest positive, somewhat surprisingly, is that they don't price gouge now that you are captive. At some festivals the whole town raises their prices just for you. All the prices here were pretty much normal. Some of the food trucks were a bit pricey but not obscene. The sandwiches at the coffee shop were way overpriced but overall the food and beverage scene was good. We had to take the lift to the top in order to see the mountain peaks through the smoke. I'm glad we did, it was fun and spectacular. The lodging was very nice, with a good supply of hot water and a comfortable bed. The sounds travel well through the walls and ceiling so a good nights sleep is not guaranteed. We had an elephant man upstairs who walked about in his room for hours! WHY? Just bring ear plugs, they may help. The room key gets you into the pool area, but the hot tub had too many people in it to try. Did not matter, the air temp was 95 degrees at 6:00 pm. It's a bit of a drive to get here but I think I liked this festival better than Rocky Grass, just because everything is so much easier. If there is another great lineup I'll be here! Billy Strings?

Whether that's what draws you in or not, the concept itself is what makes BIN22 stand out. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was lively, and the service was attentive. A unique setting in a wine / liquor store with a tapas bar in the back, amongst the wine racks and liquor bottles. Long communal tables and sitting hip to hip with foodies, locals, and people meeting total strangers. It is good conversation with everyone sharing stories, not once was politics mentioned. Reservations are not taken, instead you will find the host making people scoot to make room for new arrivals at the long tables. Our servers were spot-on with service, drinks and sharing her favorites. It is cozy and casual, people meeting people. The spirits here are for the pros with knowledge of wine, beer, spirits and bubbles. We started with the wild mushroom mozzarella with balsalmic butter, parmesan and balsalmic glaze served on crunchy baguettes. It was unbelievably flavored and tasty, a great start to the night and must have! The Spanish salad with arugula, apple, fennel, almonds, manchego and a honey-sherry vinegarette was good but not on par with the other dishes. The tuna crudo with cucumber, arugula, crunchy grains, orange wedges, citrous vinegarette, fried capers and preserved lemon was light, a real palate cleanser, and refreshing. A pleasant surprise and would order again. The lamb pintxos was our final selection and a great dish to end the night on. The fork tender lamb tenderloin was served on 2 skewers with mojo verde, Spanish aoili, and pickled red onions on crisp baguette slices. Another Homerun! The menu changes frequently and the tapas allow you to try several different delectable dishes. It encourages sharing and forces you to open up and try different dishes. Hands-down my favorite food and conversation while visiting Jackson, WY. To the staff here at Binn 22, congrats on a unique and completely fabulous dinner and concept. I can't wait to return and try many other options on a truly innovative menu. If you haven't been here, only one word, WHY?
