When I initially got the glasses there was a small problem (lenses made incorrectly) but the store corrected the issue. (Thank you.) Their prices are a little on the high side, but they may be in line with other eye care places. (I don't know.) Unfortunately 6 months after receiving my glasses, the bridge broke. When I went back to see what could be done I was told if I didn't buy an extended warranty, all I could do is buy new frames. There was no options other than that presented to me. Seems the customer service stopped when I walked out the door after initially buying my glasses. I did not abuse my glasses, just seems as though they had a manufacturing defect from the start, but now I am out $400. I understand that it isn't specifically Lindsey Eye Care's fault, but it is not mine either. If 6 months is the best you can get out of a pair of glasses from them, probably should look to another facility that sells better quality items.

Developed a blind spot in one eye - neither Eyeland optometrist nor ophthalmologist at Campanella & Pearah could ID the cause. Dr. Carim saw a hole in the retina and immediately injected a bubble to pin it back before laser affixation. Bubble was augmented once. Negatives: Impatience and questionable judgment in my estimation. After the proscribed days of waiting (and head positioning to optimize the bubble's effect), saw him again. Dr. Carim stated that the retina was not all the way back but decided to proceed with the laser procedure (maybe he expected it would get no better, but he didn't go for more days despite feeling that could help). What started as a quick laser attachment procedure turned into a long laser light show and torture session as he grew increasingly frustrated with the retina's remaining detached area. Another bubble. Days later, the blind spot was expanding into the center of my vision. The next step was the more "intense" step of cryogenic attachment. Apart from the glorious feeling of poking multiple instruments into my eyeball and freezing it, my situation ultimately became a full retinal detachment. In this timeframe Dr. Carim noted that my retina had at least three holes that allowed fluid to get behind it. This could have been the result of multiple laser burn-throughs from my military service, or maybe his premature laser attachment action. Blind in one eye now, I went to Dr. David Fisher in Philadelphia (3 locations for him), who laid out my options. A vitrectomy (removal of all fluid, pin the retina back) was performed. Vision in that eye is hazy, non-correctable to anywhere near what it was, and depth perception is off from other eye - the resultant of full retinal detachment.

This is the ABSOLUTE BEST practice for glaucoma patients…read more My husband needed an emergency appointment for high pressures in his eyes due to his glaucoma. He was given an appointment in short order. I was out of town for this appointment, however, Dr Michael Izzo called me on the phone during the appointment to include me in the conversation to go over everything including the need for surgery. He explained everything in an easy to understand manner for my husband and for me. He said the surgery would be scheduled for the following week when I would be home. The surgery went great. The aftercare has been amazing. Dr. Izzo is so caring about his patients. He makes sure that you understand everything that is going on with your eyes, he's very detailed in his examination and encourages questions and concerns! With my husband, who is 71, he explained why he should no longer be driving due the type and extent of his vision loss in a way that was not demeaning or harsh. My husband and I both appreciated the kind manner in which he did so. In short, he is an amazing doctor and we couldn't be happier with the care we received. As to the staff, they were professional, understanding and caring. Our appointments were made to accommodate our schedule regarding times and days. The staff in the back helping the doctors are just as amazing. We love this practice and would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone, definitely as 10/10 stars!

Historically, my experiences with Visionworks (Boston MA, Philadelphia PA and Wyomissing PA…read morelocations) have been very good. The staff is normally pleasant, and the optometrists are knowledgeable about their craft. Today, it was a totally different experience. The young lady working at the front desk appeared nice at first, but became increasingly impatient when I asked her to check my medical records to compare the Rx from 2021 and 2024. My recent glasses have the leading increased headaches and I wanted to know what was a significant difference between the Rx from 2021 and 2024. If so, I could discuss this information with the optometrist. Unfortunately, the young lady told me that the 2021 info was no longer available as they have changed systems and some charts no longer have access to the prior medical records!!! I explained to her that it is federal law that they keep this medical information, or they risk up to $10,000 per chart. After further discussion, she was able to find the Rx info documented on an old sales receipt but declined to give me this information for comparison. I requested to speak with the optometrist, to which she initially agreed and then told me he was unable. Another employee chimed in that "we're booked for the day but you can make an appointment for another day." She offered me the ability to request my medical records for which I accepted and waited for the young lady to complete my medical records request. Instead, she continued to help other customers or type into the computer. Eventually, the optometrist then came out to speak with me, was very polite, and informed the young lady to provide me with this information. The entire experience felt like unnecessary "power trip" from the young lady. Unfortunately, my family and I will no longer be using the Wyomissing PA Visionworks location and possibly switching entirely to a different establishment.
