Would not recommend. Look elsewhere…read more Had a home inspection done in the Lehigh Valley. They were unable to complete a septic inspection due to the state of the septic system on the house. I was told I could request a refund. I requested that refund on July 28. I was told it was being processed that afternoon. On August 13 they told me the check would not have been approved until August 6 and then mailed on August 7. I was told the latest it would arrive was August 21. When I called today I was told the check was never even processed. On top of this their water inspection came back several days late - "worst-case scenario is next week around Monday" and it came Wednesday. Their radon inspection came back with incorrect information that they told me they could not correct until they got their device back 2 days later. Apparently they are unable to edit PDFs. I never received the corrected radon inspection. Completely unprofessional.

A little while back I got a knock on my door out of the blue and it was Al from Noce's Paving. He…read moresaid that his paving crew was in the area and they were about to finish up another job and had nothing scheduled for the afternoon and was wondering if I was interested in re-paving part or all of my driveway.....TODAY! Well despite my driveway having a lot of cracks with weeds growing out of them, I hadn't really seriously considered taking on the time and expense of a full re-paving as my driveway is about 270 feet long and has a small parking area that is about 1000 square feet. Plus, I didn't know him from Adam and it kind of sounded like a scam. However, I was intrigued by the thought of a nice and clean new driveway so I asked him if he could give me an estimate on the cost. He got out his measuring equipment and took some measurements and did some calculations and he gave me a figure for just the long, skinny part of my driveway which was in the worst shape. He said that the parking area was still OK but would need to be redone in the not too distant future and my back area was still in very good shape and didn't need any work. Well being that I'm no expert on whether it was a good price or a highly inflated price, I said I would think about it and get back to him on it before the end of the day as I wanted to make a few calls and compare prices. Al was as polite as can be and handed me his card and said that that would be great and that he would wait for my call. So I did just that, I called 3 or 4 other pavers and they worked me up some quotes for me and lo and behold, Al's price beat them all by a comfortable margin. So I figured, what the heck and called him back and told him that I was in. He said that they would be over in about 30 minutes and sure enough, an entire paving crew with trucks and machinery was there as promised and they started prepping my driveway. I then asked Al if he would work out a deal for me if I wanted to get the parking area re-paved too and a few minutes later he gave me another very fair price quote. Well, me being me, I made a counteroffer on the price and a few minutes later we shook hands on the deal which worked out even better per square foot than before. So after a few hours of work, my driveway was finished and looked incredible. I can't tell you how much of a difference it makes on the curb appeal of my house. Not to mention how much easier it will be to clear the snow in the winter. My next-door neighbor came over while they were working and he was a bit incredulous about the whole knock on my door and offer to pave my driveway offer, but even he was impressed by how great it came out and said that he would like to re-pave his in the next year or two as well. So I have nothing by praise for Al & Noce's Paving. He was a straight shooter and didn't put any pressure on me to hire them. And then he gave me a very good price and did a fantastic job. I highly recommend them. Once again, I thank Al and his crew for all their hard work! It's now been almost a year now and my driveway looks as beautiful as ever.

Jim, the owner of Niche Home Inspections and a member of the CSIA (Chimney Safety Institute of…read moreAmerica), provided excellent service and I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a chimney inspection. My wife and I hired Niche to do a Level II Chimney Inspection for our 1st home purchase. We called a few places to discuss the inspection process and Jim provided the most detailed information, including inspection time, cost, report time, and tools and equipment he uses for his inspections. He's at the front of the line with technology. He has invested thousands of dollars in effective cameras to see inside flues and in a drone to get up close pictures of the exterior brick and mortar work. You may ask yourself, "is it worth it?". My answer is, absolutely, 100%. Here are some examples of why: 1. Jim found a liner from the water heater that was not connected behind a cinder block wall, essentially leaking fumes into the basement and not out of the chimney as the setup is supposed to do so. This is a CO2 hazard. 2. With his drone, he captured pictures of missing mortar between the crown. This causes water to leak into the chimney. 3. He also captured tar coating the flashing on the roof side of the chimney. This is a fire hazard. 4. He found gaps in the mortar in the fireplace and between the tiles in the flue. Both are fire hazards. I can list a few more items that Jim found. He also recommended a company to give us an estimate on the repairs. When they reached out to Jim, he explained the findings in more detail in order to get a more accurate estimate. Jim at Niche went above and beyond for us. In total, the repair estimate to get everything in excellent working order was above $20,000. We felt confident bringing this back to the sellers and successfully re-negotiated during the inspection phase and we did end up purchasing our very 1st home. We are grateful knowing what needs to get fixed to feel safe in our home and appreciate all the effort Jim put into the inspection. I would choose Niche Home Inspections again and would recommend him to my friends and family.

I found out post-closing after talking to a pool expert that Jim's pool inspection report was…read morerather weak. Jim missed some fairly obvious issues in the pool itself and anomalies in the equipment set up that would have been extremely helpful to know during the inspection and could have been leveraged for additional savings prior to closing. I shared this information with Jim afterwards, and he basically blew me off.

When the existing light boxes weren't compatible with the new fixtures, without hesitation, Paul himself made the trip to the hardware store to pick-up pancake light boxes to ensure the job was done right and looked good. He also replaced a kitchen sink faucet. Great attention to detail and went above and beyond. I felt very safe and comfortable with Paul in my home.
